90+4 Howard Webb brings the game to an end and Stoke are worthy winners. Liverpool led early on but were stunned by Stoke's immediate fightback. Walter scored a cracker in the second half to put a seal on it and for all Liverpool's possession, the three points deserve to go to the home side. Stoke go up to eighth, above Liverpool who fall to 10th. Thanks for joining us this evening.
Shelvey tries to find Cole in the box but the pass is cut out. It's happened all night and Liverpool are beaten now.
Possession stats will be interesting. Liverpool currently at 63 per cent but you can't say Stoke don't deserve to be winning this game. It's what you do with it that counts!
Suarez tries a shot from distance but it's weak, along the floor and wide.
There will be four added minutes.
Good effort from Gerrard is kept out by Begovic. The England star hits a curling effort from around 22 yards but the keeper dives to his left to parry.
Suarez is on the attack again. This time he pops up wide on the right and sends a dangerous ball across the face of goal. However, only Sterling is anywhere near it and he can't quite get to it in time.
Suarez is up to take the free kick but blasts it straight into the wall.
86 Whelan ends Suarez's run abruptly, tripping him on the edge of the box. Easy decision to book the Stoke player that one.
Enrique gives N'Zonzi a push in the back to concede an obvious free kick near halfway.
83 Here comes the aforementioned Shotton. But it's Etherington who is going off, not Cameron. The winger has been impressive tonight.
Shelvey gives Huth a shove after conceding a free kick against Begovic. No yellow card though.
Etherington down the left again. His cross isn't the best though and Skrtel heads away.
A ball is knocked up by Enrique to Suarez in the box but he can't control is first time and is forced wide. The chance goes begging with Sterling eventually having a shot which is partially blocked and then collected by Begovic.
78 A standing ovation for Kenwyne Jones as he goes off and Peter Crouch comes on against his old club.
77 Liverpool make their final change - Joe Cole replaces Downing.
Another good forward run by Walters. He finds Wilkinson in the box but his shot is charged down by Skrtel.
Shelvey gets a talking to for tripping Whitehead. Nothing more though.
Whelan delivers the corner but Gerrard does well, heading clear at the near post.
Reina is OK after treatment. Soon after play resumes, Skrtel concedes a corner.
Whitehead is quickly in the thick of it. Etherington crosses low from the left. The sub dives in low to try to get a head on the ball but doesn't make contact and instead bashes into Reina who comes off worst. He needs treatment.
70 Dean Whitehead replaces Kightly as Tony Pulis makes a change.
Suarez has a shot blocked. He picks up the loose ball and finds Gerrard. He tries a pass back to Suarez, now further forwards, but he's clearly beyond the last defender and is rightly flagged offside.
Downing bends the ball around the two-man wall from the free kick and Suarez can't get a touch as he looks to nudge it goalwards. Stoke then try to break by the covering Enrique does well to stop Kightly.
Shawcross brings down Downing just outside the box as Liverpool attack down the right. He must be one ful away from a second yellow now too I'd imagine.
Gerrard has taken a knock - looks like it's on his calf. he's limping in the centre circle at the moment.
Suarez has the ball in the net with a good finish but the whistle had already gone. Henderson slipped and fell onto the ball with his arm. Handball has been given.
Gerrard hits the free kick from deep into the box but Begovic claims confidently.
Cameron, already in the book, fouls Sterling out wide. To be fair he tried to pull out of the challenge and I think referee Webb gave him credit for that. No red card but he must be on a final warning now. Wouldn't be surprised to see Ryan Shotton come on to replace him soon.
Liverpool having plenty of possession at present but failing to do a great deal with it.
Suarez is coming back on having limped off after that last incident.
60 Suarez catches the onrushing Begovic on the foot with a high boot as he tries to latch onto a through ball by Enrique. Both men receive treatment - which is followed by the Liverpool man getting a yellow card.
59 Jordan Henderson is coming on for Lucas for Liverpool.
Chance for Stoke to break. N'Zonzi finds Etherington who in turn tries to send Kightly though on goal. However, the former Wolves man has drifted offside. A right waste that.
Downing's corner is turned behind for another. The second is cleared by Stoke.
Johnson wriggles into the box but an excellent tackle by Wilkinson stops his run - corner.
As I said earlier, half time came at the wrong time for Liverpool and now they are in a deep hole. Not sure they can get out of it myself.
Jones hits an ambitious shot on the turn from the edge of the box but it's up and over the bar. Confidence flowing through the Trinidad star though - he's been a real handful tonight.
Liverpool have an immediate chance to respond with a corner. The ball is knocked down to Johnson but he's off balance as he shoots and the ball is sent well over the bar.
49 GOAL - WALTERS. Terrific finish from the Stoke striker makes it 3-1. The goal results from a familiar source - a long throw. Wilkinson delivers it, Jones flicks on. Walters then controls with his chest and in the same movement lets fly with a right-foot volley which flies past the keeper.
Suarez should equalise but doesn't. Sterling makes an immediate impact with a run down the left. He finds Suarez in the box but the striker scuffs a first-time shot and hits the outside of the near post. He actually kicked the ball onto his other foot - clean contact and he may well have scored.
Restart: Liverpool get the game back under way.
Well, Mr Rodgers has listened to Tyler - Sterling is on for Suso at the interval for Liverpool. We're about to restart.
Trond Martinsen, a Stoke fan in Norway, has a suggestion which I'm sure many will agree with. "Tony Pulis must instruct his players not to grab shirts, otherwise LFC will get another penalty (or more). Next advice is to work harder than LFC and the points will stay at The Brit."
Tyler Burkhardt has advice for Brendan Rodgers: "Stoke have two defenders on a yellow. Liverpool need to overload the left side of the pitch and run at them! (Raheem) Sterling should come in for Suso."
Rob May is not happy: "Fed up of the same old Liverpool, can't keep on with all the possession and no penetration! Strikers needed urgently!" Gary Enright adds: "Liverpool will not win anything whilst this manager is in charge - the team has lost its edge."
Stoke are into 4/6 to win the game now with Sky Bet. A Liverpool success is 9/2. Sky Bet offer some half-time price boosts with a 3-2 Stoke win now 7/1, the same price as a 3-2 Liverpool victory. Jonathan Walters has played well so far, so the 14/1 about him scoring next may tempt some of you. Click here to place your bets.

45+1 There's the half-time whistle. Stoke hit back superbly after going behind in the second minute. Liverpool looked shell-shocked for a while but came back strongly towards half time, which they wouldn't have wanted to arrive. Still, they need to improve in the final third if they are going to get back into this one.
The fourth official signals there will be at least one additional minute.
Awful ball into the box from Gerrard - straight to a Stoke player. The final ball needs to improve for Liverpool.
Good stop from Reina who rushes out to smother Etherington's shot. That atones for an error seconds before when an attempted clearance ran straight along the ground to set up a Stoke attack.
Liverpool getting on the ball a lot at present. Next it's Shelvey picking it up in the Stoke half. He drives forward but hits a low shot from around 22 yards which lacks power and fails to trouble the keeper.
Gerrard sends the ball in from the right. Huth slices the ball behind for a corner. A combination of Whelan and Etherington deal with the latest flag kick.
Suarez again tries to take on a defender - this time Huth - but comes off second best. The ball runs to Gerrard but his ambitious effort is well off target from 25 yards plus.
Again Stoke defend a set-piece well but this is a better spell from the visitors.
Downing, now back on the right, finds Suarez in the box. He tries to go past Wilkinson but the Stoke man stands up and sees the ball out for a corner.
Suso catches Wilkinson with a flailing arm. Ref Webb sees it and just tells the youngster to calm it.
Suarez wriggles away from his marker in the box but from the right of the area - and at an acute angle - he blasts a shot whch Begovic keeps out with a stop at the near post. Tough to score from there.
Suso's left-foot shot is deflected out for a corner. A second flag kick follows but Stoke deal with both.
Stoke are really snapping at Liverpool when the visitors have the ball. This time they force an error from Jose Enrique. Etherington heads his wayward pass back into the box but it runs out for a goal kick.
Really poor pass from Shelvey wastes possession for Liverpool. He was trying to pick out Suarez but simply found Wilkinson.
Another big cheer as Suarez commits a foul in the Stoke half. The free kick is hit long, way long, by Huth and out for a goal kick.
Stoke win another corner. Glen Whelan delivers towards Robert Huth at the far post but he can't get his head on it. Goal kick.
The Stoke fans loved that miss. They've been on Suarez's back most of the game. They really do make a noise too - that's not something that's overblown.
Suarez misses a good chance for Liverpool. Downing again causes problems on the left and finds Suarez in the box. However, the Reds' leading scorer shoots high and wide from around 12 yards out. Should have done better.
Downing goes past Michael Kightly easily down the left and cuts the ball back for Gerrard on the edge of the box. He's scored from there on many an occasion but his time his sidefoot shot is inches wide.
Lucas' pass is for Jonjo Shelvey on the edge of the box but again the control is lacking and the attack breaks down.
Suso's through ball picks out Suarez but the pass is strongly hit and despite getting to the ball, the Uruguayan can't bring the ball under control and Begovic races out to get to it first. Liverpool's best attack for a while that.
Cameron charges forward but his run is finally ended with Agger blocking his shot. Vital challenge that, just when things were opening up for the American.
Unusually, no pressure is put on Reina fro the corner and he is able to claim the ball unchallenged.
Steven N'Zonzi does well on the right. His cross isn't the best but it deflects though to Etherington whose shot from just inside the box is tipped over well by Reina.
Things have calmed down a bit after that manic start. The stats on the TV show there have been just three attempts on goal - and all three have resulted in a goal.
A rare Liverpool attack comes to nothing as Downing tries to get down the right.
Andy Wilkinson knocks the ball long towards Jones. He wins another header but can't find anyone with his nod down.
Agger in the wars again - he's clutching his ankle after tangling with Walters. Free kick is given. The Dane should be OK though.
Bet a few people were on under 2.5 goals tonight. Never mind!
12 GOAL - JONES. Stoke's spell of pressure reaps further reward. Jones meets the corner with a firm header. Johnson, gets a toe to the ball on the line but can't keep it out, the header going in off the post. 2-1 Stoke!
The ball is hit long to the far post for Matthew Etherington whose attempted cross is turned behind for a corner by Glen Johnson.
Reina comes and punches away the corner - we may see a lot more of that tonight at set pieces.
Cameron's cross from the right is turned behind for a corner by Gerrard. Strong response after going behind early from Stoke.
Top assessment from Michael Antonczak - "Keith Landles should buy a lottery ticket, he gets everything he wants!"
7 Forgot to say that Shawcross was also booked earlier over that penalty incident. I have to say Suarez easily went down but there's no doubt Shawcross had hold of him and you can't argue with the referee's decision to award a spot kick.
Stoke win a corner but Liverpool manage to clear. Frantic start to this game!
5 GOAL - WALTERS. Wow. Quick response from Stoke. Daniel Agger heads backwards under pressure from Kenwyne Jones in the air. The ball drops to Jonathan Walters, who out-muscles Martin Skrtel and then sidefoots the ball past Pepe Reina. 1-1!
4 Geoff Cameron goes into the book for clattering into Lucas after the ball had gone.
So much for a snore-fest! Is that a sign the refs are already clamping down on the tugging, pulling, pushing Stoke have become renowned for?
2 GOAL - GERRARD. Steven Gerrard steps up to send Asmir Begovic the wrong way - the keeper dives left, Gerrard finds the other corner of the net.
1 Penalty! Ryan Shawcrosss tugs on Luis Suarez's shirt in the box and the Liverpool man goes down. Howard Webb rightly points to the spot.
Kick-off: Stoke get us under way. Liverpool are in a black kit tonight.
The teams are in the tunnel now so we'll be under way shortly.
Keith Landles is our first Stoke critic of the day. He emails to say: "To say Stoke's home form is good is stretching a point. Their home results are good would be more accurate! They are the 'anti-football' brigade of the Premier League and I would enjoy Liverpool scoring first here to see how Stoke respond. I would also like to see the referee display a bit of bottle and penalise the home side for their very cynical (and visible) holding and brawling at set pieces!"
James Hill is also surprised. He says: "Pulis finally starts with two wingers! Hoping Stoke will bring me some festive cheer today! We have a good recent record against Liverpool and I'm backing Stoke to win 2-1."
Edd Irwin on the teams: "I'm very disappointed that (Michael) Owen isn't playing against his old club, not even on the bench! Anyway this game is going to be so tight it could go either way. I'm going for a 1-1 draw."
Liverpool are even-money shots with Sky Bet ahead of this one with Stoke out at 14/5. Stoke to win 2-0 has been 'price-boosted' to 16/1. Click here to place your bets.
I'm expecting a low-scoring affair here. Stoke have conceded justthree home goals this season and they haven't lost at the Britannia since early February. Liverpool may have won easily against Fulham on Saturday, but the Londoners were poor. Have Liverpool turned the corner? And why is Stoke's home firm so good? Let me know your views by emailing me: email@example.com.
