Adam McGurk: Doubtful for Rovers

Tranmere expect to be without attacking duo Adam McGurk and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro.

McGurk was substituted during the closing minutes of last weekend's vital 2-1 victory over fellow promotion chasers Brentford and is facing two weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Akpa-Akpro - recently back from a lengthy absence due to a broken metatarsal - sustained a heavy blow to the ribs in the match and, although X-rays revealed no fractures, he is unlikely to feature against the Robins.

"There are one or two doubts - McGurk and Akpa Akpro are the biggest," Rovers boss Ronnie Moore told his club's official website.

"I'd say McGurk will miss it and Akpa Akpro is 90 per cent missing it. We're not short, but we'll miss the Akpa Akpro pace up front.

"Adam is probably going to be out for a fortnight with a hamstring injury and Akpa Akpro needs a week to get over the rib injury he got."

Captain James Wallace is still missing in midfield due to a medial knee ligament injury.

Swindon will be without Danny Hollands.

The on-loan Charlton midfielder has been ruled out for six weeks after picking up a fifth metatarsal stress fracture in last weekend's 2-0 win over Shrewsbury.

Manager Paolo Di Canio is keen to extend Hollands' stay at the County Ground as he sees his experience as a crucial factor during the run-in.

Captain Alan McCormack is set to start at left-back despite Jay McEveley returning to action against the Shrews.

The former Blackburn defender played for the final 10 minutes of the match after recovering from knee surgery which had ruled him out since early December.

McEveley's involvement came due to a slight hamstring injury to Joe Devera but he is available again.

Former Tottenham defender Troy Archibald-Henville is still sidelined following a knee operation and treatment.
