FT: Fulham 0 Manchester United 1

Fulham 0 Man Utd 1. A solitary effort from Wayne Rooney is enough to settle an eventful tie and send United 10 points clear at the top of the table. Brave effort from Fulham who will be disappointed to end the game empty-handed.

Rodallega's poor effort cannons into the wall. Wasted opportunity.

Ruiz glances down to Riether. He feeds a low cross towards Rodallega. He sticks out a boot, but it is that of Ferdinand that makes contact. Petric then wins a free-kick 25 yards from goal. Last chance for Fulham to snatch a point.

Rooney cautioned for dissent. He is still arguing his point. Not sure what his issue is as United have just been awarded a free-kick. Seconds tick by.

Riise takes the set-piece. Senderos towers above everyone in the middle to meet the delivery. His header is nodded off the line. United suddenly spring clear, but Hernandez can't convert a one-on-one.

Rodallega twisting on the edge of the box. He finds Riether, whose cross is nodded clear. Fulham come again and force a corner. Life in this tie yet.

Three minutes of stoppage-time to be played.

Those inside Craven Cottage urging one late effort from the hosts. They are doing their best to create an opening, but United are getting bodies the ball and keeping the door firmly bolted.

Petric with a chance to gather in a pass aimed towards him, but the ball bounces off him and to Evans. Riether then sees his touch fail him, as the ball slips past him and out of way. Not going to be Fulham's day.

Riether involved again. He finds Ruiz. His cross-shot is blocked by Rooney. The United forward is prepared to get back and help out his defence when required.

United in no rush to take a throw. They are happy to keep the ball and run down the clock. Fulham are in more of a hurry and Riether sets off down their right wing once more.

Giggs swings over the set-piece. Welbeck get his head to the ball, but Petric can. United pick up the loose ball. Van Persie now knocking on the door again. But he then goes backwards.

United now have four strikers on the field. No chance of taking their foot off the gas and seeing this game out! Hernandez turns and races into space as the Red Devils seek a second. He is tripped by Emanuelson. Great work by the Mexican as he had no support.

Final change for United sees Nani trudge off and Welbeck take his place.

Should have been two. Nani nods a Rooney pass into the middle of the box. Van Persie is there, but turns a volley high over the top. Flag up anyway.

Petric immediately involved. He finds Duff wide on the left, but he can't find a yard of space. Fulham move the ball out to the right, with Riether. He picks out Baird, but his final pass is easily cut out.

Final change for Fulham as they send on Petric in place of Dejagah.

Duff's delivery is aimed onto the head of Rodallega. His looping header drifts well wide of the target.

Fulham looking for a leveller. Riether well forward once more, as is Baird. The Cottagers have to take a few chances now. Ruiz scoops the ball into the box, but United have bodies back. One of them is Ferdinand, who nods behind for a corner.

Sickener for Fulham as they have played really well since half-time. They have contained United while offering a threat of their own. They don't have a finisher, though, and Rooney has made them pay.

GOAL MAN UTD - ROONEY. United sweep forward on the counter, with the Red Devils boasting a man over. Rooney doesn't need him as he strides into the box, composes himself and strokes the ball into the bottom corner.

Plenty of interest in the set-piece from those in white. They have six around the ball at one stage. Baird wins the argument, but he goes for sheer power and ends up drilling well off target.

Duff's delivery is met by Baird. His touch is then glanced on again by Ruiz, who sees a looping header nodded off the line by Rafael. So close to a breakthrough. Fulham get another chance as Evans dives into a challenge on Ruiz 25 yards from goal. Central position for the Cottagers.

Well-timed run by Van Persie, and he is picked out. He tries to knock the ball inside for Hernandez, but gets too much on it and only finds the hands of Schwarzer. Fulham take their turn to attack, with Evans forced to head an Emanuelson cross over his own crossbar.

Second change by United as the evergreen Giggs comes on in place of Cleverley.

Riether and Dejagah sprint clear for Fulham. The latter holds onto the ball far too long and ends up playing a pass out of play.

Swing and a miss from Hernandez as the ball drops his way inside the box. He did have to watch it drop out of the air with his back to goal but, with Hughes having taken a tumble, he will be disappointed not to have got in an effort on goal.

Ruiz and Duff combine really well down the Fulham left. The former is sent clear towards the corner flag. He hangs a cross to the back, where Dejagah is racing goalwards. He wins the ball over Evra, but can only nod off target.

Space for Riether on the edge of the box. Sloppy from United as he gets a low shot away. De Gea can only parry, but Ruiz can't make telling contact with the rebound.

Solid from Dejagah as he tracks all the way back with Evra and shields the ball behind for a goal kick. Van Persie then tries to slip Hernandez through, but Senderos blocks his path.

Nani sent clear down the right. Riise once again able to get to the ball for Fulham. He concedes a corner. Van Persie delivers from the right. Plenty of pace on the delivery, but Hughes is first to it.

Free-kick to United after Baird, who has to be careful, trips Van Persie. Nani over it. He swings the ball into the box, but Riise dives to nod clear. Another mistake from Ferdinand, as he stands on the ball and falls over.

As expected Karagounis doesn't last the 90 minutes. He gets a standing ovation as he is replaced by debutant Emanuelson.

Van Persie forced back a little, after stealing a couple of yards. He changes the angle of the ball after touching it to Rooney, before bending an effort around the wall. Schwarzer watches it all the way and can save with ease.

United make a change, with Valencia making way for Hernandez. Attacking change by Ferguson.

Rooney's corner is nodded clear by Ruiz. Rodallega leads a Fulham counter. The move is slowed down, before Ruiz once again gives the ball away. United spring clear and Baird is booked for tripping Valencia from behind. Free-kick to United 25 yards from goal.

Ruiz with a misplaced pass. Karagounis still chasing around in midfield. United go long, with Van Persie forced wide. He is able to cut the ball back towards Nani, who sees a shot blocked behind at source by Baird.

Decent cross from Riether flashes across the face of goal. No-one gambling in a white shirt. Fulham still pressing, with Baird finding a rare shooting opportunity. He drills low at De Gea from 25 yards out.

Rafael penalised again on halfway, as he came through the back of Ruiz. Karagounis over another set-piece. He goes sideways this time. Riether then feeds the ball down the right flank, but sees it trickle over the line and out of play.

Rafael gifts the ball to Rodallega, who finds Ruiz. He bundles his way past two tackles before going to ground. Nothing given, but Fulham still on the ball. Riise then has his pocket picked by Rooney.

Evra cuts out a pass intended for Dejagah. Again United try to get the ball forward too quickly and it ends up with Schwarzer. Second half yet to hit the heights of the first.

Carrick shows great vision to spot a run from Van Persie down the channels. He is able to pick the Dutchman out, but he has drifted offside and fires high over the top anyway.

Riise goes long with a throw this time, but Ferdinand is first to the high ball. United unable to launch a counter and Schwarzer looks to slow things down for the hosts.

Duff leads a Fulham charge, but Carrick is there to break things up for United. Riise takes the throw short, and Dejagah can't gather the ball in.

Ferdinand caught on the ball as he tries to run it out. Karagounis is able to stride forward to the edge of the box before pulling the trigger. He drags a tame effort well wide of the target. Up at the other end, Rafael skews an effort off target.

Van Persie hooks the ball over the top for Rooney. Hughes comes across to concede a throw. United try down the other side, with Nani twisting and turning. His final cross is not the best.

Evans hacks the ball clear. Van Persie chases, but Riise is on hand to nod back to Schwarzer. The Fulham keeper then takes a chance by taking a touch on a back-pass, but gets away with it.

Valencia seeing more of the ball, but he is being closed down very quickly. Frustration boils over for the United winger as he chops down Riise.

Rooney tees up a free-kick from wide on the United left. His delivery is not the best and is easily dealt with by Senderos. Fulham can't get out of their own half, though. Van Persie and Valencia combine, but the flag goes up against the latter.

Nice touch from Valencia as he turns the ball around a corner for Rafael. He is unable to get the ball under control and the move breaks down. United try again. They get a handball decision against Dejagah.

Rafael pulled up for a foul on Riise. Another chance for Fulham to lob the ball into the box from a wide position. Didn't appear to be much in the challenge, but the chance has been presented to them. Karagounis goes long - too long. De Gea comes and claims.

Ferdinand allowed to amble forward with the ball. He finds Valencia, who sprays a cross-field pass to Nani. He dinks a cross onto the head of Van Persie, but his effort lacks power and is straight at Schwarzer.

Dejagah is found in space, with an opportunity to cross. He takes too long to make up his mind and ends up turning into trouble. The Fulham winger is then flagged offside when the ball is returned in his direction.

Karagounis wins yet another free-kick. Fulham decide not to go long, and loose the ball. Valencia is able to squeeze down the right wing and swing over a cross. United have no-one in the middle.

Ruiz turns past two United midfielders and into space. Rodallega is a willing runner, but he can't gather a pass aimed in his direction. News on Hangeland is that he has picked up 'a knock'.

United get the second half underway.

Change at the break as Hughes comes on in place of Hangeland.

Zach Kingsbury says: "United to take it 3 - 1, Fulham will score early, but RVP and Rooney will do it again!"

Zac Wiles says: "I see United's relentless pressure taking a toll on Fulham and it ending 2-0 to United with RVP and Cleverly on the score sheet. With Fulham lacking a good run of results the confidence isn't there for a giant killing."

Fulham 0 Man Utd 0. An eventful first half comes to a close. The woodwork was struck four times and the floodlights went out. No goals, though.

Poor pass from Evans as he strides forward. The ball runs through to Schwarzer and that might be that for the first half. Fulham press one more time, but have no joy.

One minute of stoppage time to be played.

Evans heads out over the top of Rodallega. The Fulham striker is then able to get the ball to feet, but has far too much to do on his own. Rafael slices a clearance out of play.

Riether well forward. His sees a cross cannon off the head of Evra and out for a throw down by the corner flag. Dejagah gets involved for Fulham. He is able to work a yard of space, but fires a cross into the arms of De Gea.

Back underway at Craven Cottage. United won a corner before the lights went out, so we re-start with Van Persie over a set-piece. Fulham see out the danger at first. Van Persie then works an angle 20 yards from goal and forces Schwarzer into a low stop.

Some players in more of a hurry than others. For the managers, they have to trek back across the pitch for three minutes of action and then head back in the opposite direction. Should have stayed in the dressing room!

Players on their way back out. There shouldn't be any need for another warm-up.

Rejoice, the lights are coming back on...slowly. The players will make their way back out, play for about two minutes and then head down the tunnel again!

The players are making their way from the pitch. We will have to wait and see whether this game can continue. Stay tuned.

Scoreboard is still on? How does that happen? Advertising hoardings are also shining bright. Odd.

Flashlights going off around the ground as those in attendance look to make the most of a rare occurrence. So close to half-time, but how long will we be delayed? Players gathered in groups on the halfway line.

Nani has Van Persie running outside him. He is able to loft a deep cross to the back post. Riise takes no chances as he hacks behind. The floodlights have now gone out! Darkness engulfs Craven Cottage.

Cleverley does well to win possession, get his head up and pick out a team-mate. Carrick, unusually, then gives the ball away. all a bit scrappy in midfield at the moment.

United still moving the ball around well at times, but both sides are giving it away far too often. The ball is now back with De Gea, who takes no chances in having a touch before launching a clearance downfield.

Karagounis wins another free-kick as he is bundled over by Rooney. Duff to try again. He goes deeper on this occasion, but sees Evans rise at the back post to head clear.

Free-kick to Fulham on their right. Duff favourite to swing the ball into the box. He does just that, but United have plenty back and can nod clear. Cottagers still knocking on the door, but another delivery from Duff is easily dealt with.

Riise fires long for Rodallega to chase. He is able to slip past Evans, who has a tug at his shirt. Great work again from the Fulham forward, who is let down by Dejagah this time as he gifts the ball back to United.

Rodallega holds the ball up well, but Ruiz then squanders possession. Sloppy from Fulham. They prevent United from breaking as Riether puts in a solid challenge on Nani.

Rafael forced to put a Schwarzer clearance out of play. Fulham trying to pose a threat again after retreating into their shell somewhat.

Van Persie picks out Nani again. He is able to jink past Riether to the dead-ball line, but gets his delivery all wrong. A sliced effort with his left foot sails into the stands.

Nani opts to go alone as he once again cuts inside Riether onto his right foot. His low shot flicks off Riether, past Rooney's boot and behind for a corner. Another towering header from Hangeland sees the danger out for Fulham.

Nani drifts inside from the left flank. He finds Cleverley, who lays the ball into the path of Rooney. He bends the ball around Schwarzer from the edge of the box, but sees his effort cannon back off the post. The woodwork has now been rattled on four occasions.

Evra is back with us, still rubbing his head. Carrick looks to lead United through midfield. The game has settled back down after a frenetic spell, with defences now back on top.

Evra caught under an aerial challenge from Evans and stays down. He will require treatment after being caught on the back of the head by his own team-mate.

Evra can't get past Dejagah, who shows good strength to hold off the United man. He then wins a free-kick as Evra dives into a tackle. Schwarzer able to send the ball long downfield.

Good tracking back from Ruiz, doing his bit for the collective cause. Rooney has cut across the edge of the box, but Ruiz is there to get a toe to the ball and poke it back to Schwarzer.

Dejagah collects the throw, turns and heads for the dead-ball line. His cross is bundled behind for a corner. Duff's delivery is cleared at the front post by Van Persie. Duff is then found again, but his second effort is nodded away by Rooney.

Fulham enjoy a period of possession, but end up going backwards. They then go long towards Rodallega. Ferdinand comes across to clear. He claims a free-kick, but gets nothing.

Cleverley crunched by Duff after releasing the ball. Free-kick to United just inside the Fulham half. Van Persie floats the set-piece into the box, where Rooney sends a glancing header well off target.

Dejagah spins on the edge of the box, but is soon crowded out. United looking to prevent Fulham from getting a clear sight of goal, having already come close to falling behind.

A one-two between Rooney and Nani breaks down. The latter then fells Karagounis in midfield. The Greek veteran is brilliant at breaking up play and winning free-kicks. He is a nuisance to opponents.

Rafael flying forward down the right once more. Fulham sitting very deep, inviting pressure. Valencia is unable to dink a cross into a crowded penalty area.

Wayward ball forward from Riise runs through to De Gea. A rare move which doesn't produce an effort on goal. Both sides have looked open at the back. As I speak, Rooney scuffs an effort from the edge of the area narrowly past the post.

Ruiz swings a free-kick into the heart of the box. Ferdinand and Rooney can only half-clear and the loose ball drops to Dejagah. He takes one touch to set himself, before firing a half-volley inches past the post. Great game so far.

Rooney convinced that he was sent tumbling inside the box by Hangeland. In truth, he ran into the Fulham centre-half, and he's a big man to run into. Nothing given.

Rooney over another corner for United. Hangeland makes a meal of an attempted clearance and sees the ball loop off his head and onto the angle of post and bar. He could have two own goals to his name by now.

Another counter-attack from Fulham almost sees them break the deadlock. Ruiz is found by Riise and his poked effort from the edge of the area cannons back off the post. United then press up the other end, with Evra almost sent clear.

United prepared to be patient and wait for space to open up. When they do go long, the ball doesn't stick and Fulham can clear. Nani then does really well to keep the ball in play, but sees space closed down on the edge of the box.

Schwarzer sends the ball long, but only finds the head of Ferdinand. Rooney is then found in space, and has United moving down their left. Senderos stabs the ball out of play.

De Gea proving that he is as good a shot-stopper as there is around. He may make the odd error, but he shows great reflexes to tip a dipping 25-yard drive from Riise over the top. He then comes to collect the resulting corner.

Rooney with a snap-shot from just inside the box. The ball strikes Cleverley. United looking to shoot on sight when they get to within 25 yards of the target.

Fulham struggling to keep hold of the ball. They have, however, already had some joy in the final third and will be happy enough with how they have started.

Schwarzer called into action again as he drops down low to his left to smoother a shot from distance. United will feel that they should be in front.

Valencia's cross from the right flicks off Karagounis and behind. Van Persie takes the corner from the right. His delivery glances off Hangleand, forcing Schwarzer into a smart stop. The loose ball drops to Evra, who somehow fires against the crossbar from six yards out.

United force the first corner of the game. Rooney to take from the left. His delivery is whipped into the six-yard box, where Senderos connects with a firm header.

Ruiz in behind this time. He stands up Evans, but can't slip past him and then grabs at the United defender's shirt. Cheap free-kick to give away inside the opposition's box. United able to stroll the ball forward again.

Rodallega sprung into space. He is able to drive into the box, but then looks to cross rather than shoot from a tight angle. He can't pick out Dejagah. Early warning for United, who saw Rodallega beat their offside trap.

Clever flick from Carrick into the feet of Rafael. United can't get across halfway. Fulham working really hard to close down space. Martin Jol will hope they have taken lessons from last week's FA Cup defeat.

Van Persie gives the ball away in midfield, but United soon have it back. They go wide to their left, but Rooney is unable to keep the ball in play.

Nice movement from United as they move through midfield. Fulham getting plenty of men behind the ball. The tactic works as Ruiz steals possession and Karagounis is tripped.

Long ball down the line from Rafael forces Schwarzer out of his area. He deals with the danger well, hacking out of play. United looking to press from the off.

Fulham get us up and running.

For the record, today's referee is Kevin Friend.

The players are on their way so we will have to leave the feedback there for now. There will be further opportunities to have your say at half-time and at the final whistle.

Ryan Bridcutt is another expecting a comfortable evening for the visitors. He says: "As a United fan I can see them dominating the game. 4-0 with RVP and Rooney with 2 apiece."

Chris Dunne disagrees, saying: "United fan, I'm confident we can replicate our performance of last weekend, Fulham were shocking, Rooney and RvP to score."

Peter Huntingford is backing a home win. He says: "Feeling optimistic - Fulham to nick it 2-1 with a solid performance from Rodallega #coyw"

Tom Hooton is first in with an opinion. He says: "I think United will be confident after knocking Fulham out of the FA Cup, 3-1 win to United for me!"

Man Utd team: De Gea, Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Cleverley; Nani, Rooney, Valencia, Van Persie. Subs: Amos, Anderson, Giggs, Smalling, Chicharito, Welbeck, Kagawa.

You can also bet in-play throughout the game at Skybet.com. Here's what they have to offer pre-match: "Sir Alex Ferguson's men have a patchy record at Craven Cottage, but even at 9/2, customers don't fancy Fulham to win. Wayne Rooney has scored four goals in his last two games against the Cottagers and is 7/1 to bag his second brace in a week."

United, meanwhile, are perched at the top of the table and could pull 10 points clear of arch-rivals Manchester City with victory in the capital.

Fulham may have picked up three points in midweek, but they remain only seven clear of the drop zone and will feel that they have work to do in order to consolidate their top-flight status.
