90+1
Moussa Sissoko is given a superb ovation by the Newcastle faithful as he is replaced by Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa for the last couple of minutes.

90
GOAL! Moussa Sissoko is making a name for himself as a Newcastle hero on his home debut as he drills in a ferocious low shot from the edge of the area after good work by Davide Santon, although perhaps Petr Cech could have done better as it was within reach and just beat him for power.

76
Ashley Cole has a shot blocked from the edge of the area before Juan Mata floats a poor cross over from the left which Tim Krul easily plucks out of the air.

74
Tensions are threatening to boil over on the touchline as well, as a foul by Yohan Cabaye on Oscar sparks some angry words from Rafa Benitez.

72
Moussa Sissoko embarks on a lung-busting run from deep to latch on to a ball that is seemingly a lost cause. He gets the better of Ashley Cole for pace, which is no mean feat, before lashing a powerful shot at goal from a tight angle which forces Petr Cech into a diving save.

70
It promises to be a thrilling climax now as the St James' Park faithful roar on the Newcastle side.

68
GOAL! Newcastle hit back to make it 2-2 and it is the French connection that does it as Yoan Gouffran sprints away down the left before stinging the palms of Petr Cech. Moussa Sissoko latches on to the rebound and calmly tucks the ball away to draw the scores level.

65
Sorry again for the technical difficulties. Chelsea have come out all fired up in this second half but Newcastle still look dangerous on the break.

62
Papiss Cisse and Ashley Cole are both cautioned following an off-the-ball incident. Replays show Cisse putting his hands to the throat of the Chelsea man, who squared up to the Newcastle striker in response. Cisse is lucky as referee Howard Webb decides to keep the red card in his pocket.

61
GOAL: Chelsea come from behind to take the lead as Juan Mata curls a stunning shot from the edge of the area past Tim Krul and into the top corner.

55
GOAL: Frank Lampard draws Chelsea level with a tremendous strike from outside the area.

49
Sissoko makes a strong, powerful charges towards goal but there are three Chelsea defenders on him and he's foiled as he approaches the box. He plants a cross in from the left, trying to pick out Cabaye, but overcooks it.

48
Coloccini does well to snatch the ball away from Torres on the edge of the Chelsea box. At the other end, Cech collects from a Cahill backpass to subdue a Newcastle threat.

43
Newcastle firmly on the front foot then after that opening goal. Not good news for Chelsea as they lose Ba - can they come back?

41
A forced change for Chelsea as expected as a shaven-headed Torres replaces the injured Ba.

Santon makes a charge down the left and lifts a teasing cross into the box. Gutierrez is in the right place at the right time to rise with a glancing header that beats Petr Cech.

40
GOAL! GUTIERREZ FOR NEWCASTLE! 1-0

39
Ba is still off for Chelsea with a taped up face and it appears Benitez might be forced into a change.

37
There's a chance for Newcastle as Sissoko manahes to slot a ball through the Chelsea defence to Cisse but Cech scrabbles it out with a low diving save.

35
Play resumes as Ba still receives treatment on the sidelines. It seems it was an accidental clash with Coloccini and Webb doesn't dish out a punishment.

34
There's a lull in play after what looks like a boot to the face for the former Newcastle man but he's back on his feet after a couple of minutes.

32
Coloccini tries to hold up Ba as the former tries a run down the right wing. The striker is on the floor after a collision with the Toon skipper after unleashing a shot that goes wide.

20
Cabaye tries his luck with a shot from distance but he fires his effort straight at Cech. A powerful shot from Cisse seconds late prompts another diving save from the keeper.

18
Debuchy lifts the ball forward but it's brought down by Terry. Cole takes a quick throw in the middle of the park and Lampard slots a pass through for Oscar.

17
So sorry about the technical issues! Hopefully I can keep you updated now. It's still goalless at St James Park. A long Krul ball is nodded on in midfield but Ivanovic snatches it up.

12
Newcastle are on the ball inside their own half as Perch tries to find a way through to Gutierrez but Lampard intervenes in midfield.

4
Cole takes a Chelsea throw inside their own half and the visitors trade passes in midfield but Sissoko manages to break.

3
Newcastle win an early throw but are driven back up the pitch. Getting forward again, Lampard cuts out a ball in from the right by Gutierrez.

2
Newcastle trade passes at the back and Cabaye slots through to Cisse in midfield, who finds Debuchy out on the left.

1
We're underway at St James' Park as referee Howard Webb blows his whistle. It's Newcastle seeing the early ball as Sissoko whips in a cross from the left.

14.57
St James' Park has filled up fast and the teams come out to a great atmosphere. Enjoy the game guys! Keep the feedback coming at half-time.

14.55
@ashleyralph98 - "good line up the blues today 3-1 to chelsea with ba grabbing two and lampard scoring #cfc"

14.53
There's a fair few Newcastle fans that have come along in French berets, onion strings etc today as a salute to the raft of January signings from across the channel.

14.51
Toby Day - "Hi, very excited for today's match! Supporting the blues!!! My prediction is 3-0 to Chelsea. With Demba Ba going on first, we'll do well."

14.49
@mattelondon - "Demba to score a hat-trick and the blues to win 3-2! Come on Chelsea!!! Rafa out!"

14.45
The Londoners have seen some of their best form away from Stamford Bridge this season but they visit Newcastle having not won in their last three in all competitions.

14.44
A few stats before we get underway... Newcastle are seeking their first win over Chelsea at St James' Park in six games, with the Blues having conceded just one goal across that run.

14.43
Jake Backshall isn't too pleased with Alan Pardew's picks this afternoon - "Decent line up for the toon. But why has Perch got another start now Marveux and Obertan are fit? Marveux should be on the left of that front three with Cabaye, Gutierrez and Sissoko in the middle. I would even replace Guiterrez with Anita. Another case of mis tactics by Pardew."

14.41
Keep the feedback coming. The teams are out and warming up at St James' Park and the stadium is starting to fill up. It's chilly up here on Tyneside but no rain - fingers crossed!

14.40
Here's an update from our friends at Sky Bet - "Don't be late for kick-off as the Blues have opened the scoring more than any other team in the top flight this season. They are 8/11 to notch the first goal and 2/1 to be leading at half-time and full-time. The Magpies are 11/4 to win, with the draw 12/5 and former Newcastle man Demba Ba has been installed as favourite to score first (100/30)."

14.37
@JaiRDonaldson - "Hi, hoping for a great match for the toon. Looking strong line up for us! Sissoko should have a key role! 2-1 toon. HTL"

14.36
Vladimir Mazurkevich - "Glad to see Ba and Terry in the starting XI! It will boost players confidence and increase their level of determination. Therefore I predict 0-2 win for Chelsea with help of Ba's brace. Come on Chelsea!"

14.35
James Wallbridge has written in - "I'm a toon fan, and i'm pretty upbeat for this game! We're gonna have to keep Ba, Mata and oscar very quiet today but chelsea look week in the central midfield whereas we are completely the opposite. Sissoko reminds me a lot of yaya toure or patrick vierra. A big loss for chelsea in the creativity of hazard. I'm pretty confident we can beat chelsea but i'd take a draw. Can't afford to lose as we've got 14 cup finals to try and get to 40 points. I'm going for a brave 2-0 win with Papiss cisse hitting the ball in the back of the net twice!"

14.33
@daveysimmaz tweeted - "Newcastle to win 1-0 today. If we can get the lead we'll win it #howaythelads"

14.32
Plenty of feedback coming in. Here's what some of you have had to say...

14.17
On the Newcastle side of things, new signings Debucy, Sissoko and Gouffran all start as the Toon look to build on their morale-boosting win over Aston Villa in midweek.

14.17
Having a look at those line-ups then, Demba Ba indeed starts against his former club on his return to Tyneside, while Juan Mata and Petr Cech are back in the Chelsea line-up.

14.09
Chelsea XI: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole; Lampard, Ramires; Mata, Oscar, Bertrand; Ba. Subs: Torres, Ferreira, Marin, Turnbull, Azpilicueta, Benayoun, Ake.

14.05
Newcastle XI: Krul; Debuchy, Taylor, Coloccini, Santon; Gutierrez, Perch, Sissoko, Cabaye, Gouffran; Cisse. Subs: Anita, Yanga-Mbiwa, Bigirimana, Elliot, Marveaux, Ameobi, Obertan.

14.05
Here come the teams for you then...

14.03
While the Magpies can no longer rely on the Senegal international for goals, they will be boosted by an influx of January signings, some of which we're likely to see in action today.

14.02
All eyes will be on Demba Ba this afternoon, with the Chelsea striker expected to appear against his old club after moving to Stamford Bridge.

14.01
The teams will be coming your way very shortly but first why not drop me a line with your thoughts ahead of kick-off? You can tweet me @SkySportsRachG or email rachel.griffiths@bskyb.com.
