Phil Picken: Still out for Shakers

Bury manager Kevin Blackwell has no fresh injury problems among a squad reshaped by a busy transfer deadline day.

Experienced full-back Carl Regan and Cameroon midfielder Valery Mezague are both available to make their debuts after agreeing a four-month deal and non-contract terms respectively.

Mark Hughes has made 29 appearances for the Shakers this term but is unavailable after joining Accrington on loan, while fellow defender Andrai Jones and popular forward Lenell John-Lewis have been released.

Blackwell's remaining players are fully fit with the exception of long-term absentees Phil Picken (knee), Adam Lockwood (groin) and Shane Byrne (blood disorder).

Bury are without a win in nine league matches and sit third from bottom of the table, three points from safety.

Martin Woods will return to the Doncaster squad when they resume action.

Rovers were without a game last weekend owing to MK Dons' involvement in the FA Cup and Saturday's fixture will be the first time they have played since January 19.

New boss Brian Flynn, who will have a full squad available against the Shakers, kept his players ticking over with a friendly against a Manchester United reserve XI at the beginning of this week.

Woods made his return from the thigh injury that has kept him out since November against a strong United team at the Premier League club's Carrington training ground to add to the competition for places in midfield.

Meanwhile, strikers Billy Paynter and Iain Hume will also come back into the reckoning.

Paynter is available again after serving a three-match suspension while Hume missed out last time against Leyton Orient because of a calf strain.
