Lionel Ainsworth: Set to undergo late fitness test

Managerless Aldershot play host to the Cod Army with it as yet unclear as to who will take charge in the home dugout.

Shots sacked Dean Holdsworth on Wednesday night following having collected just six points from their last seven games, although the most recent of those was a 1-0 victory over Torquay on Tuesday which lifted the club out of the drop zone.

The powers that be at the EBB Stadium hope to make an appointment before Saturday, with Andy Scott currently the bookies' favourite for the post, although no announcement has yet been made as to who is in interim charge. Coach Matt Gray would be a likely contender.

The new boss will have plenty of decisions to make after Holdsworth dropped influential pair Danny Hylton and Peter Vincenti to the bench in midweek for what turned out to be the club's first win in seven league attempts, although the pair had both been brought on by the time of Troy Brown's 83rd-minute winner.

Winger Lionel Ainsworth (hip) missed out altogether and will again be assessed while left-back Anthony Tonkin serves the second game of his two-match suspension.

Ryan Edwards is available to make his Fleetwood debut.

Blackburn youngster Edwards sealed a one-month loan move to the Highbury Stadium on Thursday and could come into boss Graham Alexander's defence following last weekend's 4-0 home loss to Burton.

Town collapsed after goalkeeper Scott Davies received a red card in the second half and his absence gives veteran David Lucas the opportunity of a first start since joining Alexander's staff as a player-coach in January.

Youth team keeper Oliver Martin will take his place on the bench.

Striker Jon Parkin (hamstring) remains on the sidelines alongside defensive duo Shaun Beeley and Youl Mawene.

Former Derby and Preston man Mawene returned from a broken foot in a practice match this week but sustained a minor knock and will not be risked.

Winger Junior Brown is doubtful with a knee complaint.
