Danny East: Set for debut

New loan signing Danny East comes into contention for his Gills debut.

The versatile defender, who can play in either full-back position or in midfield, arrived from Hull on Thursday on a deal until the end of the season.

And East may well start, where the Gills have won just two of their last nine, with boss Martin Allen looking to make some changes to his starting XI.

"It's not as if we're playing dreadfully (at home) but it's got to get better, we've got to improve it," Allen said. "We've got to look at improving it and deal with it better, we'll make some changes this weekend because we haven't got the results we've wanted when we've been playing here. So other people will now get a chance."

Elsewhere, forward Myles Weston (foot) is rated as 50/50 to make his comeback while midfielders Andy Frampton (concussion) and Charlie Allen (wrist) are not quite ready to return.

Argyle striker Gozie Ugwu will be fit after shaking off an injury sustained in a friendly earlier this week.

The Reading loanee suffered an abdominal muscle injury in Argyle reserves' 2-0 defeat to Exeter on Monday but he is set to be involved against the League Two leaders.

Four Plymouth players are edging closer to returning to action but this trip comes too soon for all of them.

Defender Curtis Nelson will be back in training next week after missing the last six games with a groin injury

Goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin (hamstring), right-back Durrell Berry (knee) and midfielder Jamie Lowry (ankle) all took part in training on Thursday after their recent injuries but will not travel.

The Pilgrims' 2-1 win over Barnet last weekend moved them to within a point of safety but they will face a tough test against Martin Allen's table-toppers.
