Paul Quinn: Racing to be fit

Doncaster hope Paul Quinn will be fit.

Quinn is nursing a knock following the 2-1 win at Bournemouth last Saturday and was a doubt for Tuesday night's postponed home game against Carlisle.

Rovers boss Brian Flynn will check on the full-back before finalising his plans for Pompey.

Injuries to Paul Keegan (thigh), David Syers (ankle) and Martin Woods (calf) has seen Flynn bolster his midfield options with the loan signing of Dean Furman and the Oldham captain will go straight into the squad.

Goalkeeper Gary Woods missed out at Bournemouth after sustaining a thigh injury during the defeat at MK Dons and he will continue to be monitored. Veteran Neil Sullivan was recalled from his loan spell at AFC Wimbledon to start against the Cherries.

Winger Kyle Bennett is still struggling with a knee injury while centre-half Jamie McCombe has recovered from a fractured bone in his back and resumed training, but he is not yet ready to be considered for first-team selection.

Portsmouth are likely to name an unchanged side.

Caretaker boss Guy Whittingham has no new injury worries following the narrow 1-0 defeat at Leyton Orient in midweek.

Whittingham has assured young full-back Dan Butler he will keep his place in the team despite his mistake gifting Orient their winner.

Fellow defender Sam Sodje returned to the squad on Tuesday after a three-match ban but did not get on and is poised to start on the bench again.

There could be one addition to the substitutes if striker John Akinde can shake off the sickness bug which has kept him out of the last two matches.

Experienced duo Patrick Agyemang and David Connolly will continue in attack.
