David Martin: Doubtful for Dons

MK Dons look like having an unchanged squad.

David Martin has returned to training following his five-game absence with a back problem but this match will probably come too soon for the Dons goalkeeper so Ian McLoughlin will continue to deputise.

Daniel Powell pulled up with a hamstring injury during the goalless draw at Sheffield United last weekend and missed the home defeat to Shrewsbury on Tuesday night, and he is likely to remain on the sidelines along with fellow winger Luke Chadwick (hip flexor).

There is plenty of competition for places in attack with Izale McLeod, Patrick Bamford, Alan Smith and Ryan Lowe all available.

The latter saw his goal tally for the season reach double figures following his brace against the Shrews.

Tranmere defender Ian Goodison is an injury doubt.

The veteran centre-back was substituted during Tuesday night's defeat at Walsall due to a groin problem and will be assessed.

Ben Gibson rejoined Rovers on loan from Middlesbrough on Thursday and provides a like-for-like replacement.

"Goody is struggling with a groin strain so it might be that Ben has come back at the right time," said manager Ronnie Moore on Rovers' official website. "We've just got to wait and see.

"To play three games in a week for an 18-year-old is hard enough but to do it when you're 40 is hard. So we'll leave it until the last minute."

Adam McGurk (collapsed lung) and Andy Robinson (hamstring) remain on the sidelines alongside long-term victim James Wallace (knee), but Moore will still shuffle his pack following a run of six defeats and two wins from nine matches.

"There will be one or two changes but we haven't got a massive squad where you can make lots," he added.

"There are players out of form at this time, four or five who are firing way below what we expect of them."
