Alan Judge: Late fitness check

Alan Judge: Late fitness check

Notts County will once again check on influential midfielder Alan Judge.

Judge has missed the last two matches after he was kneed in the back during the home draw against Leyton Orient on March 6.

The 24-year-old has been receiving intensive treatment and Magpies manager Chris Kiwomya is hopeful he will be able to be involved.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce came off midway through the first half of the 1-0 defeat to Preston at Meadow Lane on Tuesday night and the winger is also a doubt.

Centre-half Dean Leacock comes back into contention after serving a two-match suspension but right-back Julian Kelly continues to nurse the calf problem that has seen him miss the last four games.

Strikers Jacob Blyth (Leicester) and John Cofie (Manchester United) have both returned to their parent clubs following the end of their loan spells.

Scunthorpe striker Akpo Sodje has had an extra four days to prove his fitness.

Sodje was doubtful for the Iron's postponed game at Bury in midweek due to a foot injury that forced him out of last week's home defeat to Coventry, but is expected to start at the weekend.

The former Sheffield Wednesday forward had missed the previous two matches because of a problem with his other foot.

Manager Brian Laws, who has no other new injury or suspension worries, will hand a second start to on-loan Manchester City goalkeeper Eirik Holmen Johansen, who has been drafted in as cover for Sam Slocombe (thigh).

Midfielder Damien Mozika (hamstring) has suffered a recent setback in his attempted return from injury and remains sidelined, while midfielder Josh Walker, defender Niall Canavan and former Leeds striker Mike Grella are among those pushing for recalls.

Scunthorpe, two points above the relegation zone, have lost four of their last five league games.
