Jermaine Grandison: Remains on the sidelines

Shrewsbury will be without Cameron Gayle for the crucial visit of their fellow strugglers.

The on-loan right-back picked up a hamstring injury early in the second half of last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Crewe at Gresty Road and now faces around four weeks on the sidelines.

Jermaine Grandison remains another week or so away from his return having suffered a slight setback in his recovery from a hip injury, meaning Connor Goldson or Rob Purdie are the likely contenders to step in for Gayle.

Midfielder Mark Wright is closing in on his comeback from lengthy knee trouble but is not yet ready while defender Rob Edwards (thigh) continues to miss out.

Town parted ways with forward Luke Rodgers by mutual consent on Thursday, meaning he will not be involved.

Oldham manager Lee Johnson has the luxury of naming an unchanged side against the Shrews as he prepares for his second game in charge.

The youngest boss in the Football League enjoyed the perfect start to his managerial career as the Latics eased to a 3-0 home win in their crucial clash against fellow strugglers Hartlepool on Tuesday night.

Robbie Simpson was recalled to the starting line-up against Pools while loanee Korey Smith was handed his debut and both are primed to continue.

Chris Iwelumo and Jordan Obita were the unlucky duo to make way and are set to be among the substitutes once more at Greenhous Meadow.

Cliff Byrne was also on the bench against John Hughes' men on his return to the squad from an ankle problem as he awaits his first match action since February.

Matt Smith will not be rushed back from a knee injury but has a realistic chance of featuring against Swindon on Good Friday.
