And there it is. Spurs win 1-0 thanks to Gareth Bale. Over to Arsenal and Chelsea now.

Spurs haven't played well but AVB won't mind at all.

It just had to be Bale! Southampton come forward again. Puncheon strikes it at goal but Dawson throws his body in the way.

Sensational from Bale. He receives the ball on the right, cuts inside and finds the bottom corner.

Spurs have a corner but it's really well defended again. Southampton sitting deep though at the moment.

Bale again has a strike but Boruc claims.

Southampton playing out of trouble but Spurs win it back. Bale is on the right after good work by Adebayor. The Welshman goes down in the box but no penalty awarded.

Boruc misses the ball and Southampton scramble away. A moment of panic in the visitors defence.

Sigurdsson tries to set Bale through but Shaw does enough. Walker then tries to cross it in but Cork heads away.

Lallana wins his side a throw near the corner flag. Shaw can't keep hold of the ball though and Spurs clear.

Mayuka wins Southampton a corner. Lallana takes it and Dawson clears.

Bale again tracks back and is fouled by Rodriguez. Excellent work from the Welshman.

Bale tries his luck down the left but his cross can't quite find Adebayor.

Shaw wins his side a corner. Southampton send the big men up. Lallana whips it in but it's another corner.

Free-kick to Southampton again. Lambert will take it again but it looks to be quite a way out. Lambert curls it in but it drifts wide.

Southampton all over Spurs at the moment. Assou-Ekotto closed down quickly and the away side win the ball back again.

Guly to Clyne and then to Lallana. Spurs chasing shadows but Bales come back to win the ball for Spurs.

Chance for Southampton. Lallana gets the better of Dawson but his shot is straight at Lloris.

No real flow to the game at the start of this second half.

Spurs need a spark from somewhere. Huddlestone looks for Defoe over the top but it goes through to Boruc.

Bale sets off but he's flagged offside. Better from Spurs though.

Vertonghen with a long ball to Walker but it sails out of play.

Holtby does well but Clyne stops his ball to Bale.

Spurs fans really trying to inject some life into their teams performance. Bale tries to cross one in but there isn't a Spurs player in the box and Southampton once again clear. Last minute of normal time.

Lack of communication in the Spurs back four. Vertonghen stretches to clear what looked like an easy catch for Lloris.

Plenty for AVB to think about in what has been a frustrating first half for Spurs.

Lambert offside this time. It looks like Lloris may have tipped Lambert's earlier free-kick onto the post.

Spurs just happy to clear the ball anywhere at the moment.

Free-kick to Southampton 25 yards from goal. Lambert hits the post and Lloris claims after Davis heads towards goal on the rebound.

Holtby on for Dembele for Spurs. Looks like a hamstring injury.

Clyne intercepts well again and sprints down the right with the ball. Luckily for Spurs his ball is claimed by Lloris before it gets to Lambert.

Defoe, as ever, is full of energy and movement but he's being well marshalled by Hooiveld and Fonte.

Davis this time looks for Lambert with a cross but Lloris claims well.

Rodriguez with time in the box but he didn't shoot and Spurs clear in time.

Defoe to Lennon but he's just offside.

Southampton again defending well and looking to break forward on the break.

Guly gets in down the right but his cross is cut out and it's a corner. Lallana looks for Rodriguez but it goes over. Goal-kick for Tottenham.

Bale picking the ball up in deep areas at the moment and that will please Southampton. He's really getting closed down quickly.

Huddlestone finds Assou-Ekotto down the left but it goes behind from the corner. It's cleared well again by Southampton.

Lennon gets in behind Shaw but his pull back is cleared to safety. Bit of pressure from Spurs now.

Shaw brings down Walker but it's just a warning for the Southampton defender.

Southampton have a really good shape about them and look comfortable at the moment.

Defoe full of running holds up the long ball. Spurs players catch him up and play a bit of keep ball.

Offside against Dempsey and we have a moment to gather our breath.

Free-kick to Tottenham now though. But Southampton clear again. Dempsey picks up the loose ball and his shot is blocked.

Clyne again getting to the touchline but Dempsey intercepts.

What a chance that was for Clyne and Southampton.

It's the full back again who finds himself clean through but he screws his shot wide of the Spurs goal. Chance of the game thus far.

Clyne looks for Rodriguez but the ball goes through to Lloris.

Good interception by Luke Shaw who has had an outstanding campaign.

Bale hasn't touched the ball yet! Spurs enjoying more of the ball now though.

Dawson does well at the other end and it's a goal-kick for Spurs.

Chance for Spurs. Defoe does well down the left and when the ball breaks to him again he fires his shot wide.

Five minutes played and Southampton passing the ball around well. Spurs just starting to enjoy a few touches though.

Lallana had a good chance to deliver a free-kick but it sails out of play. Decent start.

Assou-Ekotto tries a ridiculous attempt from range and it's a goal-kick.
