West Ham have claims for a penalty waved away as Carroll goes down in the box before Nolan has his close-range effort is saved by Elliot. The Jarvis has a chance as his shot is pushed round the post for a corner.

After seeing replays of the incident it looks like it was a good call from the officals as the whole ball had not crossed the line.

The debate for goalline technology is sure to rumble on after this game especially if Newcastle fail to win.

Newcastle go so close to scoring as Cabaye plays in Cisse and he sends his shot past Jaaskelainen, but Reid gets back to clear the ball off the line with Newcastle claiming the ball was over the line.
