FT: Everton 2 Newcastle 2

Full time. That's it. A point each in a game that had everything. Everton thought they'd won it through Victor Anichebe late on but substitute Demba Ba scored his second in the last minute to equalise. Everton even had a goal not given despite the ball crossing the line. High drama at Goodison Park. Thanks for joining us.

Bigirimana on for Cabaye.

Pienaar and Baines for once get it wrong as the winger puts the ball wide of the full-back and out of play.

There will be four minutes added time.

Goal! Demba Ba has equalised! Amazing drama. He gets on the end of Ameobi's flick on and squeezes the ball past the advancing Howard. Unbelievable.

Goal! But Victor Anichebe gets on the end of this one! Smart turn from Pienaar's ball into feet. Left-footed strike low across Harper and he'll feel that is justice done.

Now it's Everton going long through Jagielka but Anichebe cannot get on the end of Fellaini's flick on.

Ameobi is booked.

Now Ben Arfa is through one-on-one... but Howard saves! Jagielka was back to help out with the rebound. Should have scored though.

Newcastle happy to go long to Ameobi now but this one finds Howard.

Fellaini is booked. Stamps on Williamson with his studs up. Not a nice challenge.

Hibbert chasing down the right but cannot get past Santon to keep the ball in play.

Naismith on for Mirallas.

Still it is wide open. Anichebe can break but cannot get the ball under control. When it comes to Mirallas the shot is blocked.

Real drama here with both sides feeling hard done by.

Ameobi on for Cisse.

Pienaar is booked.

At the other end Ben Arfa breaks and is fouled by Pienaar but stays on his feet and has a three-on-one situation... but the referee brings it back for the foul. Strange decision.

Chance! Free-kick to Everton and Hibbert launches it into the box. Anichebe appears to have headed the ball over the line. He has headed it over the line! But Williamson clears and the goal is not given. Amazing.

Game has just settled down a little as Fellaini receives treatment.

Cisse fouls Baines. Chance for Everton to work something down the left. They do so. Fellaini finds Pienaar in space and he feeds Osman on the edge but the midfielder tries to pass the ball left-footed into the corner and it goes a yard wide. Decent chance.

Pienaar tries a clever reverse pass to Mirallas down the left channel but Taylor is there to track the run and shepherd the ball out for a goal-kick.

Another Newcastle corner and again it beats everyone.

Harper is off his line to get to an up and under clearance and sends one of his own through to Ba. The striker's control is excellent to bring the ball down but he can't find a finish. End to end!

Cabaye's ball in eludes the Newcastle players and is cleared.

Corner to Newcastle after Hibbert tackles Ben Arfa.

Anichebe and Mirallas have switched with the substitute playing on the right and the Belgian as a striker now.

More good skill from Ben Arfa and he could shoot but tries to find Cisse and Distin is there. Both sides going for the next goal.

Taylor's pass-back is a poor one and Anichebe nearly gets there first but Harper is just there to clear. The Nigerian forward then clatters into the keeper and the foul is given. Harper then appears to talk Anichebe out of a yellow card by remonstrating with the referee to let him know the striker had gone for the ball. Good sportsmanship.

It comes out to Osman and there is a coming together on the edge of the box with Gutierrez going down. Referee gives the foul Newcastle's way to the frustration of the home fans.

Corner to Everton.

Now it's the other end! Cisse tries to improvise a finish and help the ball over Howard with a lob but gets it wrong and it lands on the roof of the net. Amazing game now with chances at both ends.

Disallowed goal! Mirallas finds Pienaar who looks like he is about to shoot but instead slides the ball through to Fellaini who finishes neatly but is devastated to see the flag go up. That was so close on the replays.

Ba tries to swing at the ball in the box but misses the ball and Cisse cannot get there before Howard.

Another good run and cross from Baines. Fellaini cannot quite connect while Anichebe is more interested in tussling with the defender than getting on the end of it.

Corner to Newcastle and Williamson wins the header but Pienaar clears.

Corner is cleared, only as far as Osman. But the half-volley is a poor one and flies over the bar.

Powerful run from Fellaini wins a corner.

Ba does well to chase a lost cause but when Ben Arfa crosses Howard is off his line to take.

Jagielka loses the ball to Ben Arfa and Newcastle have a three on two situation but the Frenchman's pass is a poor one and the chance is wasted.

Baines' cross is deflected and the bounce deceives Anichebe who allows it to run through to Harper.

Newcastle on the attack again. Ben Arfa beats two and stands the ball up at the far post but Ba heads over. A different Newcastle side now!

Goal! Demba Ba scores with just about his first touch. Osman is robbed by Cabaye and the Frenchman then threads the ball through to Ba in the left channel. He takes the shot early and wrongfoots Howard with a left-footed shot low past the keeper.

Anita does well going forward but Cisse's lay-off to Cabaye is poor and the chance is gone.

Ben Arfa dispossessed twice in his own half but Everton fail to take advantage.

The shape has changed but the problems remain. Pienaar and Baines combine but Anita does well to clear and deny the corner.

Change of shape for Newcastle as they go 4-4-2 with Gutierrez right and Ba playing centrally with Cisse. Anita and Perch have also swapped positions with the former now at right-back and the latter in central midfield.

Ba on for Marveaux.

Half time. That's the end of the first half and Everton thoroughly deserve their lead. Baines and Pienaar were excellent throughout and combined for the only goal so far - Baines drilling home. Newcastle need to change things after the break if they are to get anything from this one.

But Newcastle clear.

Gutierrez with a silly foul giving Everton one last chance in this first half.

There will be three minutes of added time.

Anichebe on for Jelavic who has eventually succumbed to that early injury.

Chance! Pienaar wins the ball off Perch and is then running at Williamson. Osman arrives on the overlap and Pienaar just has to roll him in for the finish but elects to shoot and curls just wide. Great opening for Everton and Osman is angry with his team-mate.

Mirallas coming in from the right after Ben Arfa gave the ball away. The Belgian cuts in on his left foot and shoots at the near post but Harper saves.

Santon offside at the other end after Jelavic had been adjudged to have fouled Williamson. Scrappy sequence of play.

Hibbert crosses from deep but Fellaini is offside.

Chance! That's much better from the visitors though. Cisse and Ben Arfa combine and when the cross comes in Anita is there to divert the ball past Howard... only for Baines to clear off the line. Baines is the key man at both ends right now it seems.

Bit of a melee in the centre of the pitch again but it's no surprise when it's the home side who come away with the ball. They are showing a lot more fight than Newcastle right now.

Osman with a run into the box and he's appealing for a penalty. No chance. Perfect block tackle from Cabaye.

Good skill from Fellaini as he chips the ball over two midfielders and then outmuscles Jonas before laying the ball off. He's a dominant figure in the middle of the park right now.

Chance! Jagielka was still up for the original setpiece. He wins a header and then gets to the lay-off to half-volley the ball against the outside of the post. Great technique from the centre-back.

Baines crosses but Harper punches clear.

Anita is booked for a foul on Hibbert. Studs were high there.

More good play by Everton but it comes to an end when Hibbert tries a tricky pass down the line to Mirallas rather than crossing and the ball runs out of play.

Marveaux crosses. Everton win the initial header but don't deal with the knockdown. It comes to Cisse to volley on the angle and it goes narrowly wide. Decent chance and a little unfortunate. Warning for the home side.

Distin does foul Cisse this time and it's a chance for Newcastle to swing the ball in.

Rare attack from Newcastle as Cisse spreads the play to Marveaux but the winger is dispossessed easily by Osman. Dismal start to the game for the Frenchman as he has not done enough to help Perch tracking back.

Pienaar crosses from the left and Mirallas brings the ball down beautifully. He tries to steal a yard and shoots left-footed straight at Harper. Busy start from the Premier League (full) debutant.

Jelavic twists and turns in the box to win a corner.

Again Distin gets the better of Cisse and the Senegal striker resorts to fouling his marker.

Better from Mirallas this time! Similar position on the left-edge of the area and it fizzes just wide of the post.

This time Baines ignores Pienaar and passes across to Mirallas in a central position. The Belgian shoots but it's a scuffed effort and easily blocked.

Onus on Newcastle now but they have done nothing in the first 17 minutes to encourage their fans. Another long ball to Cisse is too strong and runs through to Howard.

Goal! Leighton Baines with the opener. It was coming. And you knew how it was coming too! One-two between Baines and Pienaar with the latter producing a delightful flick to put the full-back through. He fired home low past Harper from the inside left channel.

Baines does well with a defensive header this time to clear Anita's speculative cross.

Now Mirallas sees a shot blocked after Cisse struggles to hold the ball up.

Dominant start by Everton. More bright play from Baines and Pienaar down the left opens up Newcastle but Osman's shot is blocked.

Baines does brilliantly down the left as he plays a one-two with Pienaar. When the ball comes back to the South African his shot slices off his boot and goes wide for a goal-kick.

Jelavic cleverly allows the ball to run through for Mirallas and he is nearly through before Newcastle shut the door.

Fellaini tries a drilled cross from the left but gets it all wrong and that's behind for a goal-kick.

Free-kick is overhit and goes tamely out of play.

Booking for Phil Neville. Strong challenge on Cisse and it was late. No arguments.

Long ball from Harper but Cisse hardly moves a muscle and it runs out for an Everton goal-kick.

Still hobbling but he's back on now.

Nasty knock but he may well be able to continue.

Jelavic is still down with a leg injury. He collided with the post as he slid in to score.

Disallowed goal! Mirallas does well down the right and cuts the ball back for Fellaini to shoot. Harper saves but he can't hold onto the ball and Jelavic is there to pounce - but he's just offside.

Everton kick-off and we are underway.

Thanks for your feedback. The players are on the pitch and we will be underway shortly. Nice tribute to the Hillsborough victims first as a Liverpool and an Everton mascot come out holding hands and wearing the numbers nine and six on their backs respectively to mark the 96 Reds fans who died in 1989. Moving scenes at Goodison Park.

Adrian's confidence has sparked the Everton fans, it seems. Gareth says: "Just like to remind Adrian that the last time these two teams met Everton scored all four goals [Hibbert own goal] in a 3-1 victory. Everton won't lose at Fortress Goodison, 2-0 to the Toffees."

Josh says: "Predicting 3-0 for the Toffees! No 1,000th goal for Newcastle tonight - they'll be struggling."

Colin says: "This will be a stroll in the park for Everton. Mirallas to get a couple of assists and Jelavic to score in a 3-0 win."

"Baines will fly," says Gary Neville on Sky Sports 1 HD. "Marveaux is going to have a job to do tonight. It costs a lot of teams at Goodison Park."

The key for Newcastle could be stopping Leighton Baines. It's not often a full-back is the most important creative outlet in a team but only Santi Cazorla has created more chances in the Premier League this season than the Everton left-back.

For Everton, it's a full Premier League debut for Kevin Mirallas and David Moyes is hopeful that the Belgium international can add goals from midfield for the Toffees.

A few injuries concerns for Newcastle this evening. Tim Krul, Fabricio Coloccini and Cheick Tiote have been huge players for them in recent times but are all missing this evening.

Adrian says: "Easy 4-1 for the Magpies."

Alan Pardew is serving the first game of his two-match touchline ban this evening. But he's not worried. "I don't think it'll be a problem," said the Newcastle boss. "John Carver (assistant manager) has been a manager in his own right."

Our friends at Sky Bet have the odds for this one and make Everton favourites at 8/15. Newcastle are at 5/1 and the draw is available at 3/1.

No Demba Ba in the starting line-up for Newcastle. He's on the bench.

Everton: Howard; Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines; Osman, Neville, Fellaini, Mirallas, Pienaar; Jelavic.

Newcastle: Harper; Perch, S.Taylor, Williamson, Santon; Anita, Gutierrez, Cabaye; Ben Arfa, Cisse, Marveaux.

The teams are in and will be up shortly.

Papiss Cisse is their best bet to get it but the Senegal striker has gone give games without scoring since he netted 13 in his first 12 Premier League games.

Newcastle have scored 999 Premier League goals so will be looking for a landmark goal this evening.

David Moyes' side still boast a formidable home record though. They have won eight and lost just one of their last 10 Premier League matches at Goodison Park.

Everton are looking to bounce back from defeat at West Brom last time out. That result ended a run of 11 Premier League games without defeat for the Toffees.
