Villa continue to press but West Brom really look far too organised to be breached today. Olsson battles with Agbonlahor and credit again to Holman who earns Villa a corner.
West Brom are defending extremely well as Villa launch cross after cross into the box before N'Zogbia pokes a shot wide.
Tamas spectacularly clears N'Zogbia's delivery before Holman loses control on the edge of the box. Bent picks it up again though as Villa probe once more.
El Ahmadi again concedes possession too easily but Villa win it back through Bennett as they look to carve a chance in West Brom's half.
Clark heads away but West Brom still have possession with Morrison as Villa's midfield suddenly start to look pretty tired.
Lukaku holds up the ball looking for an opening and in the end does really well to win his side a corner off Clark.

Bennett takes a whack as Gera's cross from the right catches him square in the back. Moments later, Gera's second delivery nearly catches Guzan off guard as he is forced to tip it round the bar.
Albrighton fires in a wicked, curling cross into the box but Foster shows great hands to gather it first time.
A poor free-kick from Bennett leaves Villa's strikes unhappy as their efforts in the final third continue to produce no reward.
Long is again caught offside but more miscommunication between Vlaar and Clark nearly costs Villa as the striker was barely denied what would have been a golden chance.
Dorrans' shot clips the wall and despite Mulumbu's best efforts he can't keep the ball in play.
Foster takes a risk with his clearance but El Ahmadi can't capitalise, and moments later he floors Morrison to concede a free-kick 30-yards out.

Delph can't capitalise on a Yacob error but he more than makes amends with a sliding tackle to dispossess El Ahmadi.
Long powers a header into the net from Mulumbu's ball but the striker is narrowly, narrowly offside and the linesman raises his flag.
Holman's energy is outstanding once more but Mulumbu and Tamas combine to good effect to end up winning a goal kick.
Gera's header from a West Brom results in a botched header as he ends up colliding with Tamas in the process. After all that, it's a Villa goal kick.
Holman persists against Popov but despite his and the Villa fans' protests, it was a clear fre-kick and the referee awards it.

Delph loses out to Yacob as Jones is played out wide. His cross eventually finds the head of Long who incredible aims wide from five yards. Poor defending from Villa and he should have made them pay.
A half chance for Villa as Agbonlahor cuts down the line and fires a teasing ball into the box for Benteke which Olsson does well to hack clear.
Jones takes on Bennett but the Villa man slides in precisely. Mulumbu is then penalised for a foul on Vlaar and it's a free-kick to the hosts.
A loose pass from Yacob sells Gera short, Villa regaining possession before Gera is forced to clear under the threat of Benteke.

Analysing the team news further, Villa boss Lambert makes three other changes from the last league game at Southampton with left-back Joe Bennett, midfielders Marc Albrighton and Fabian Delph brought in for Eric Lichaj, Barry Bannan and the injured Stephen Ireland respectively. West Brom boss Steve Clarke hands a debut to summer loan signing, left-back Goran Popov, in place of the injured Liam Ridgewell (thigh) while Shane Long returns in attack at the expense of Romelu Lukaku.
Villa fan Brian Cook writes: "This is a brave decision to leave DB out but I admire Paul Lambert's decisions. I would like a Villa win but fear a draw."

In a surprise decision from Villa boss Paul Lambert, club record signing Darren Bent is benched for today's Midlands derby, with Gabby Agbonlahor restored to the first team after his goalscoring exploits at the Etihad Stadium midweek.
