FT: Leeds 2 Everton 1

90+5
Pienaar's free-kick is gathered by Ashdown and the final whistle goes! Victory for Leeds as they dump Premier League high-flyers Everton out.

90+5
White booked after lunging in on Oviedo. Last chance for Everton.

90+4
Into the final minute and Leeds have a free-kick after Neville brings down Diouf.

90+3
Fellaini goes into the book for his part in the melee.

90+2
Trouble in the Leeds area as Fellaini is penalised for handball. Everyone is getting a bit tense here.

90+1
Corner to Leeds and Diouf is taking his time over it.

90
Four added minutes will be played.

90
The ball is tossed into the Leeds box again and Pearce is climbing all over Anichebe, but Mason gives nothing. Should have been a penalty.

89
Oviedo has the chance to cross, but over-hits it and it goes beyond everyone and out for a throw.

88
More bandage practice for the Leeds physio and now it won't be so easy to tell Lees and Pearce apart.

87
Another stoppage for blood, and this time it's Lees who has a cut above his eye.

86
Corner for Everton as Mirallas' cross is deflected behind. It's end-to-end at Elland Road, but the corner is totally wasted.

85
Everton go close! Mirallas' corner is met powerfully by Jelavic's head, but it goes straight down Ashdown's throat.

84
Fellaini drives forward and fires in a shot which comes off the falling Pearce and goes behind for a corner. Everton wanted a penalty as they felt it hit the defender's arm.

82
We're on for a big finish now. The ball was flicked on by Anichebe in the box and Distin climbed with Pearce to head home. It wasn't clear who got the final touch, but the Everton man will be happy to claim it.

81
GOAL FOR EVERTON!!!! Distin heads home.

80
Pienaar fires in a shot from the edge of the are but it is well wide and Ashdown just watches it go beyond the post.

78
Heitinga goes into the book for pulling back Diouf, White is furious as he wanted Mason to play advantage as he was in there. Replays show the Everton man also stepped on Diouf as he got up. Nasty.

76
Anichebe again shows good feet and power to turn in the box, but Tom Lees is in the right place to block.

74
Byram looks to trick his way into the box, but Distin stretches out a long leg to concede the corner. Diouf then tries to get away from Pienaar, but is somewhat harshly penalised.

74
Oviedo goes into the book for going through the back of White to win the ball, with the Everton man very unhappy with the decision.

72
Almost immediately, Jelavic has half a chance in the area, but can only deflect a weak shot straight to the keeper.

72
Finally, Everton get a shot on target with Fellaini bringing a good save out of Ashdown with his powerful drive from outside the box.

71
Moyes will doubtless be furious with his defence once again as they failed to pick up Pugh lurking on the edge of the area.

70
Diouf rolls the free-kick out to the edge of the box where Pugh fires goalwards, with Austin getting the final touch in a packed six-yard box to divert it beyond Mucha and inside the post.

69
GOAL FOR LEEDS!!!

69
Leeds continue to press and Austin is brought down by Coleman right on the edge of the area near the touchline.

68
Diouf picks out Pearce, but his glancing header is cleared.

68
Another corner for Leeds as they have Everton on the back foot for the first time in this half.

66
Leeds continue to press, but Distin is on hand to head Brown's cross powerfully away from danger.

66
Diouf's corner causes problems in the Everton box and Distin has to hack it away for another corner from the opposite side.

65
Naismith's night is over, with Jelavic now on the pitch as Everton look to get back on terms.

63
Moyes is preparing to make his third and final change, with Nikica Jelavic set to join the fray.

62
First booking of the night goes to Michael Brown after a rather late sliding challenge which catches Pienaar across the knees.

60
Everton are getting closer. Pienaar feeds Anichebe and the powerful forward turns away from a defender before firing a low shot across the face of goal.

59
Shocking miss from Naismith! Everton catch Leeds out with a clever free-kick as Pienaar feeds Anichebe and the forward's cross finds Naismith in space at the far post, but he heads off target from around four yards out. Very poor.

58
Everton have so far only mustered three attempts on goal, none of which have been on target.

56
Poor defending from Everton as Tonge is allowed to ghost into the area unchallenged before firing wide of Mucha's goal.

55
Another half-chance for Everton as Pienaar swings over a free-kick which Fellaini climbs highest to meet, but can only head well wide of the target.

54
Chance for Pienaar but he snatches at his shot from the edge of the box and it goes high over the bar.

52
Ashdown comes out to claim the ball above Pearce, who needed eight stitches in his head wound during half-time. That will probably hurt a bit in the morning.

51
Neville slides in on Diouf and takes the Leeds man out, but is then unimpressed when the Senegal international stays down.

50
Mason has a few words with Byram after he clashes with Mirallas. The Leeds player was pulling his opponent back, but the Everton forward appeared to swing an arm.

48
Leeds skipper Pearce is still out there sporting a huge bandage around his head following his accidental clash with Naismith at the end of the first half.

46
Experienced men Phil Neville and Steven Pienaar have been sent on to pep up Everton, with Junior and Gueye the men to make way.

46
Everton get the second half started and Moyes, as expected, has made a couple of key changes.

The two teams are back and we're about to get under way.

It will be interesting to see if Moyes makes changes at the interval after a lacklustre display. He certainly has the players to call upon if needed.

45+3
Mason brings the half to a close and Leeds fully deserve their 1-0 lead at Elland Road, courtesy of White's superb early opener.

45+2
SO CLOSE TO 2-0!!! Becchio rises in the box to head Diouf's cross goalwards, with his header beating Mucha, but Naismith is in the right place to hack off the line.

45+1
Diouf bursts between two defenders and wins a corner and is able to continue his love-hate relationship with the visiting fans.

45
We'll have two minutes of added time here.

44
Everton are being given no time on the ball by Leeds, who are constantly snapping into challenges as half-time approaches.

43
Pearce has been bandaged up by the physio and is able to continue. Brave stuff from the Leeds captain.

41
Leeds skipper Pearce has taken a nasty blow to his eye after heading the back of Naismith's head. Mason stops the game so he can receive treatement, but there is a fair amount of blood.

39
Moyes is standing arms folded in the pouring rain in the technical area with a face like thunder. His players are likely to find out what he thinks in no uncertain terms in about five minutes.

37
Diouf's attempted cross goes over the bar, with the ever-popular Leeds man blowing a kiss to his new friends from Everton behind the goal as they let him know what they think again.

36
Oviedo looked like he had broken the Leeds offside trap after a neat through-ball but the flag goes up as he prepares to pull the trigger, with replays suggesting it was a very tight call.

35
Diouf and White combine down the right flank but are unable to work an opening to put the ball into the box. The former Liverpool man is subjected to more half-hearted boos from the Everton fans behind the goal.

33
Austin fires in a shot from well outside the penalty area, but Mucha is happy to watch the daisy-cutter as it goes wide of the post.

31
Everton enjoy a decent spell of possession and manage to pin Leeds back in their own half, but the attack ends when Coleman swings over a cross which is too easy for Ashdown.

29
Everton's best chance of the night as Oviedo breaks down the left and fires in a low cross which Anichebe side-foots well over the bar with a first-time effort from just inside the area.

28
Audacious attempt from Michael Tonge as he goes for goal from the left corner of the penalty area, but his shot lacks the necessary curl and flies behind.

27
Good chance for Leeds here after Heitinga is penalised for a bodycheck on Becchio on the corner of the box.

26
Becchio is flagged offside after Austin robs Fellaini in midfield and attempts to feed the Leeds striker.

25
Nasty and needless challenge from Diouf on Gueye out on the touchline, but he escapes a booking from Mason.

24
Great work from Tom Lees as he slides into cut out a pass from Mirallas which was intended for Naismith after good work from Fellaini.

22
Mason has to have a quick word with Fellaini and Brown as they tangle waiting for an Everton free-kick to come into the Leeds box. A quick handshake, and when the ball comes in it comes to nothing.

20
Full-back Byram gets into space down the right but his attempted cross drifts behind Mucha's crossbar.

19
Now Mirallas is penalised for backing into Pearce. Looks like referee Mason won't stand for any of that tonight.

17
Leeds keeper Jamie Ashdown gets lucky as his attempted clearance goes straight into Anichebe's midriff as he closes the ball down, but fortunately for the home side it goes out for a goalkick.

16
Becchio penalised for backing into Heitinga as Leeds look to mount another attack.

14
Few words of advice for Austin from Neil Warnock as the midfielder wins a free-kick in front of the dug-out.

12
Leeds threaten again, but Pearce heads off target from Diouf's free kick out on the right flank.

11
Lees is called into action again as he slides in to force Anichebe wide in the area as the Everton man looks to work an angle to shoot.

9
Mirallas is on the ball again and tries to find Naismith on the edge of the Leeds box, but he runs into the imposing figure of Lees and the opportunity is lost.

7
Fellaini is penalised for a challenge on Austin, but Everton's defence heads the ball clear, however they are still being pegged back by the hosts.

6
Everton look to get on the attack through Mirallas, but he loses the ball and it goes out for a Leeds throw.

4
What a superb goal from Aidy White. He picked the ball up just inside the Everton half and drove towards the box, weaving away from defenders before the space opened up and he beat Mucha with an assured finish. Game on!

4
GOAL FOR LEEDS!!!!

4
Lees launches the ball long and Becchio climbs in the area to win the ball, but it drifts away from the far post where Diouf is lurking.

3
Leeds play it short and lose the ball, but are given a second bite of the cherry by another Everton foul.

3
Becchio earns his side a free-kick in the Everton half and they have a chance to put some pressure on Mucha.

2
Early touch for full-back Oviedo as he challenges Diouf and comes away with the ball.

1
Leeds get us under way in West Yorkshire.

The teams are making their way out of the tunnel and into the teeming rain at Elland Road, with kick-off now just minutes away.

Another one for you stats fans out there - this is the first time that Everton have named a starting XI which does not include a single Englishman.

Considering the amount of rain there has been in Leeds over the last couple of days (my back garden now resembles a duck pond) the pitch at Elland Road looks in very good condition.

@rookharry writes: "Everton are on form at the moment, but we are no push overs, don't be surprised to see an upset here!"

This is only the third meeting between the two teams in the League Cup, with Leeds emerging victorious on both previous occasions, securing 4-1 victories in December 1991 and January 1978.

Couple of stats prior to kick-off. In 113 meetings between these two sides, Leeds have won 50 times, Everton 32 and there have been 31 draws.

Tonight's referee is Lee Mason from Lancashire.

Adam Henshaw says: "I'm 16 years old and just the age where I've seen them go down and down but the last couple of years we have looked positive. I could have easily changed teams but I stick with them through thick and thin.... MARCHING ON TOGETHER. Hopefully this takeover happens and we can sign players in January but tonight it's about them playing well and hopefully getting through.... I'm going 2-1 Leeds Austin and Becchio the goal scorers.

Leeds manager Neil Warnock makes four alterations to the side which beat Nottingham Forest, with Jamie Ashdown starting in goal behind a side which also featured Michael Brown, Aidy White and the transfer-listed Danny Pugh.

Everton boss David Moyes has made six changes from Saturday's victory over Swansea as Victor Anichebe, Seamus Coleman, Marouane Fellaini, Johnny Heitinga and Kevin Mirallas all retain their shirts, with Francisco Junior making his debut.

Leeds supporter Gary Bell says: "Leeds to put in a good account of themselves regardless of the result, although a WIN would be great. Championship position is our main priority at the end of the day....MOT."

If you fancy a flutter on tonight's clash, then our friends at Sky Bet have a wide range of markets available. The headline numbers are: Leeds can be backed at 4/1 to win in 90 minutes, Everton are an 8/13 shot, and the draw is 3/1.

Everton fan Andrew Sperling writes: "My prediction is Everton to be far too strong for lower league opposition. Leeds 1-3 Everton. Watch out for Junior who is starting in midfield, this guy is touted as the next Makelele."
