FT: Panathinaikos 1 Tottenham 1

Thanks for joining me, Rebecca Stephenson, for the game tonight... hope you enjoyed it despite it not being a classic!! Thanks for all your Tweets and e-mails. Hopefully I'll see you again soon for another 90 minutes!

Ironically they could have lost it in a last gasp goalmouth scramble that saw Sandro block a shot that looked to be heading in from Mavrias

In the end AVB's men were undone by one superb ball and astute finish from the Greek side who really offered nothing for most of the game

And thats it - a point apiece and AVB will not be happy with the fact they didn't push home their obvious superiority.

Looks like its going to be a point a piece - The Greeks bring on Chouchoumis for about 5 seconds

It was Sandro that got in the way of the shot, otherwise Spurs would be behind

Three minutes to add on... Mavrias has a drive.... it pinballs around but its finally cleared

Townsend booked... and a dangerous free kick for the Greeks

Lloris makes a good catch from a Mavrias ball and hurriedly clears - just three minutes to go for Spurs to pull this out of the bag

Spurs have a corner.. Bale swings it in but Caulker is judged to have fouled the Keeper - pretty harshly

my favourite... Christodopolous(!) is coming off.. he's been replaced by the easier-to-type Charis Mavrias

Tottenham should be out of sight here, now they have six minutes to rescue the three points... but can they pick it up again after being so laid back for about an hour?

Cleared by Bale but the Greeks have the ball back

Suddenly belief has enveloped the men in green. They look a different team.. Spurs panicking a bit, giving away silly fouls.. another chance to put a ball into the box now...

Huddlestone off and Sandro comes on

The ball was played through to Toche by Seitaridis who flicked it past Lloris.. Spurs have to wake up now... that was class, where has that quality been for 75 minutes?

Bale pulls the ball back to Sigurdsson but his shot is blocked

Another sub for Spurs - Lennon is coming off to be replaced by Andros Townsend

Lennon is rugby-tackled to the ground by Vyntra - and he's booked quite rightly

Can the Greeks do anything here?? let me know Tweet @1rebs or e-mail rebecca.stephenson@bskyb.com

Shot from Defoe is deflected wide for a corner, which Bale will take... but its over everyone

Under normal circumstances I'd be saying that Spurs could be in danger of being lulled into a false sense of security at 1-0 but it doesn't look like Panathinaikos have the desire or belief they can do anything

Huddlestone gives away a free kick around 30 yards out- but it floats harmlessly over from Toche

Despite the game passing by almost without incident , it has to be said that Vertonghen is impressing again - great distribution and strong

Clint Dempsey is coming off to be replaced by Gylfi Sigurdsson

Defoe crosses it but its just too long.. Bale has a speculative effort from outside the box but it swerves just wide

So what can I tell you about the last 5 minutes?! err, the Panathinaikos fans have found a bit of a voice...more action on the animated advertising boards than on the pitch I'm afraid!!

Sissoko looks to be clear but it was great defending from Walker to muscle him out of it - claims for a penalty but no-way that was a foul

Defoe is put through and motors past the defender but his finish woul've been more at home with an oval ball - think it's still travelling

Quincy delivers the ball.. Lloris looks less than secure again - juggles with the ball before grasping it

Quincy gets to the byline, gets a yard on Walker but thankfuly for Spurs Dawson is alert on the near post to put it behind.. the corner comes to nothing but Panathinaikos have won a free kick in a similar position to where Spurs' goal came from

Pete Shawsmith ‏- If the game carries on like the first half i can see spurs falling alseep and losing this game

Lovely ball through from Vertonghen to get Defoe in but he's offside - didn't need to be, it was a great ball

Spurs win a free kick which Huddlestone will swing in but offside is given

Ok, we're back underway in Athens although you wouldn't know it by the noise level in the Olympic Stadium!

Pete Shawsmith ‏- Dawson may not be on form but there is nothing wrong with his head!

Adam Isaacs ‏- No fans, lackadaisical players, is this a park kick-about?

Chris Donoghue รพ-."Waiting for something to happen, rather than making it" sums up this game perfectly

So what are you making of the game? I think Spurs can only really throw this away unless there's a marked improvement from Panathinaikos in the second half... tweet me @1rebs or e-mail rebecca.stephenson@bskyb.com

And the referee has seen enough too... blows for half time and Spurs are halfway to mission accomplished in Greece

Almost half time, not been a classic by any stretch

Is it me or is AVB looking more and more like Mourinho every day?!

Mistake by Lloris from an easy catch - lets it through his fingers but there's no green shirt there to take advantage - Brad Friedel may have raised a smirk at that?!

We have our first yellow card of the game as Bale fouls Seitaridis - but its 10 out of 10 for the triple-salco that followed! Great artistic impression marks!

Good hit from Huddlestone brings out a great save from Karnezis

Great reverse ball by Defoe into the box is cut out, that deserved better - great invention

and now Bale runs through, but the goalkeeper denies him - corner - Spurs have woken up here

It was a free kick by Huddlestone, crossed in and Michael Dawson glanced it past the goalkeeper

Clever through ball by Dempsey but it's too long for Defoe

It's not the most entertaining game at the moment a lot of non-urgent possession and slow build up....both sides looking lethargic at times, maybe a lack of real atmosphere deadening the game at the moment.. as another Bale cross is cut out

Needless corner conceded by Kyle Walker - bad communication from the goalkeeper there.. but he redeems himself by taking the catch

Lennon given space to run at the heart of the Greek defence but his shot is a weak one

Defoe forces the first save from the goalkeeper from a narrow angle

decent period of possession from the Greeks for the first time. They're asking a lot of full-back Seitaridis to get up and down that wing.. and he gives a foul away chasing back this time

Spurs are fouled again - Gareth Bale felled this time (but he wasn't touched - just slipped). Bale's cross into the box is headed into the centre by Toche before it's scrambled clear (not an advisable defensive header!)

Great run forward by Quincy, good determination but Marinos can't get the ball in - Spur break and get a free kick but it drifts just wide...

You get the feel that the longer the Greeks can hold out, the more confidence they'll gain... may be down to Spurs to push home their superior quality early on

first decent attack from the Greeks - Seitaridis crosses but straight into the hands of Lloris - he got in behind though

Seitaridis' through ball to Christodoupolous is too long and runs through.. most action in midfield at the moment.. neither side really threatening

Kyle Walker's "shot" turns into a cross-field pass for Bale, but his shot is cleared - Dempsey's subsequent effort is collected by the goalkeeper

Cross-field pass from Christodoupolous finds touch

Vertonghen crosses but it's taken easily by the goalkeeper

Panathinaikos first foray forward is short-lived as a foul is given and Spurs are back in possession

Spurs have another corner - here it comes.. cleared again but they retain possession, very good patient probing from Tottenham but Walker is offside

Tottenham claim a penalty as the back ricochets onto a hand - but it's not given - would've been harsh, but we saw one last night for Man City - similar incident

Bale crosses dangerously but it's cleared under pressure - corner

The stadium is nowhere near full though so shouldn't be too intimidating for Spurs - and we're underway

The few hundred Spurs fans are trying to make themselves heard but the Greek fans are being typically noisy - will be first priority to silence the crowd

The teams are in the tunnel.. the officials wearing a shirt which looks more like a Spain shirt than a Ref's!

We're under 10 minutes from kick off now, if you're watching it with me than keep your views coming in, if you're not able to, I hope I can make you feel like you are!! keep tweeting and e-mailing your views and comments and if I've not told you something you want to know - feel free to ask... tweet @1rebs or email rebecca.stephenson@bskyb.com

So it looks like most of you are happy with the XI AVB has put out - looks very strong in midfield to me, but with good outlets to attack with pace and drive, just as they did at Old Trafford on Saturday

Mark Shults - Glad to see Dawson and Thud get a game! Strong team but it won't be easy, I'm going 2-1 Defoe and Dempsey

Dean - Fantastic line-up, would like to see Defoe get a couple of goals. Feel optimistic so I'm going to say 3-1.

Roger - We have a strong team out a win tonight 2-1 and a Lazio draw will be great. Our confidence must be high after the weekend result Come on you spurs!!!!

Chris, Leicester - a very strong Spurs side, plus a Greek side which includes only 2 players I've ever heard of (Andre Pinto, and Christodoulopoulos), so I can only see a Spurs win tonight. However this is Tottenham so anything can, and probably will happen. 3 - 0 to Spurs, Defoe, Bale and Dempsey to score

SLF - I'm saying 3-1 Defoe and Bale

Anil Siv - I Don't think tonight is gonna be an easy game for Tottenham, regardless of what people are saying, the Greeks can play football!

So what are your thoughts ahead of the game - let me know - you can tweet me @1rebs or email me at rebecca.stephenson@bskyb.com
