Campbell: Foot problem

Jimmy Bullard is expected to be the only absentee for MK Dons.

Bullard has been nursing a knee injury and the experienced midfielder may need to see a specialist about the problem.

Striker Charlie MacDonald received a cut near an eye against Bury and full-back Jon Otsemobor pulled up at Gigg Lane on Saturday. Both players had to be substituted before half-time but are in contention to face the Black Cats.

The Dons also lost Gary MacKenzie before the league game at Bury but the centre-half is another who should be involved in the third-round tie.

Dons assistant manager Mick Harford, born in Sunderland and a supporter of the Wearside club, said: "We deservedly beat a strong Blackburn team in the previous round and have been rewarded with what is, particularly for me personally, a plum tie against Sunderland.

"They are my hometown team and I have supported them since I was a kid. I always will be a big fan so to get them at home is great for me, and we are all looking forward to testing ourselves against Premier League opposition."

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is waiting on a series of checks before naming his squad.

Striker Fraizer Campbell suffered a foot injury after coming on as a substitute at West Ham on Saturday, and midfielder Sebastian Larsson left Upton Park with a hamstring problem.

O'Neill will also have to decide if central defender Titus Bramble can manage two games in four days, while winger Adam Johnson (thigh) and Carlos Cuellar (hamstring) are unlikely to be risked and Phil Bardsley (ankle) and Wes Brown (knee) are still short of match-fitness.

Sunderland (from): Mignolet, Westwood, O'Shea, Kilgallon, Rose, Adams, Egan, Cattermole, Gardner, Colback, McClean, Sessegnon, Meyler, Saha, Fletcher, Wickham, Ji, Noble.
