Chelsea 0 QPR 1. A great strike from former Chelsea winger Wright-Phillips settles this tie. Great start to the New Year for QPR. Back to the drawing board for Benitez and the Blues.
Luiz fires another wayward effort into the stands. He was a full 25 yards from goal again. Clear-cut opportunities have been in short supply for the hosts tonight.
Dyer sent on in place of Taarabt. Redknapp looking to shut up shop. Nobody forward now for QPR.
Redknapp on his feet, moving nervously around his technical area. He sees his side wide another free-kick. The seconds tick down. Chelsea frustrated.
Granero replaced by Park. Another experienced head added to the QPR mix.
Mata over the set-piece, which is nodded clear by Onuoha. Ball back with Mata. He curls in a dangerous delivery. Ivanvovic gets a touch, but glances the ball narrowly over the top with Cesar beaten.
Bertrand can't find a way past Mackie, who is happy to lump the ball forward towards nobody. Chelsea come again. Blue shirts piling forward. Plenty of red ones back though. SWP concedes a corner.
Taarabt down after being hacked at by Ramires, who is lucky not to be booked. QPR able to run the clock down a little more. They are urged to get on with things by Lee Mason.
Chelsea claim a corner, as Fabio appears to glance the ball behind, but they get nothing. Another aimless cross into the box is easily dealt with by the visitors.
Luiz takes, but goes low and straight at the wall. Yet again Chelsea fail to make the most of a promising opening. Cesar orders his defence to push out.
Azpilicuate hangs a cross into the box. Ivanovic has stayed forward, and isn't going back. He doesn't win the header, but the ball drops his way again and he is caught by a rash challenge from Hill right on the edge of the box. Yellow card shown.
The corner comes to nothing. QPR have rarely been tested from set-pieces tonight. They are edging towards a much-needed win which could spark a survival surge.
Redknapp calling for calm from his players. He still has two changes to make should he wish to do so. On the field, Chelsea force a corner.
Hazard halted in the edge of the box. Bertrand takes over. He hits a veru hopeful shot from distance, but wins a corner. Set-piece taken short, before QPR head clear.
No nerves from Fabio as he calmly chests the ball back into the arms of Cesar from in front of his own goal. That's what QPR need now, calm heads. They need to dig deep again and hold on if they can.
Torres looking to get on the end of a hanging cross. Again he has defenders in his face and get high enough. The ball drops inside the box, where Cesar collapses on it.
How will Chelsea respond? They have been knocking on the door for some time, but it won't open. They will feel that they now need two against the side which sits bottom of the table.
Ramires on for Lampard.
GOAL QPR - WRIGHT-PHILLIPS. Granero swings over the corner and Oscar nods clear. The ball drops to Taarabt, who lays it into the path of SWP. He drills low into the bottom corner from 20 yards out. Great strike. Shock is on!
Luiz has a kick out at Granero. Chance for QPR to work Turnbull. The free-kick is a long way out, though, and the visitors take it short. Good choice as SWP wins a corner off Azpilicueta.
Mata gets his first touch. He is closed down quickly. No way through for Chelsea. QPR get so many bodies behind the ball it is impossible to pick the lock.
Mata introduced by Benitez in place of Moses. Chelsea now have their three first-choice ball players behind Torres. They still have 15 minutes in which to try and work their magic.
Ambitious effort from Hazard is blocked. He is then found in space, cutting the ball back to Oscar. He ends up floating an effort which is neither a shot nor a cross into the arms of Cesar.
Taarabt prepared to chase a lost cause down the QPR left. He gets a loud round of applause from the visiting support. He has worked tirelessly for the collective cause tonight. Not what you expect from him.
Ivanovic surging forward, before asking too much of Hazard. Nelsen in the right place again for QPR. Chelsea try going the other way. Cahill lobs the ball into the box, but Cesar comes and claims.
Oscar over the set-piece this time. His delivery is nodded clear by Fabio. Mackie then chases out to prevent Lampard returning the ball to the box. QPR digging deep in pursuit of a point, or maybe more!
Poor pass from Derry gives Chelsea the ball back. Cahill this time leads them forward. Azpilicueta takes over. He battles with SWP and Fabio and ends up winning a free-kick wide on the Chelsea right. Another chance to load the box.
SWP catches Azpilicueta. Free-kick to Chelsea 30 yards from goal, just to the right of the penalty area. Hazard whips over the delivery. He gets too much on it and Torres can't keep the ball in play. Wasted again in the final third.
Hazard dancing away from tackles. He finds Luiz, who tries to return the ball to Hazard. Nice idea, but QPR have enough numbers back to snuff out the danger.
Ball in the net, but it won't count. Moses bundles the ball around the box, before it trickles out to Lampard. He wastes no time rifling into the bottom corner, but the flag has gone up. We remain goalless.
Nice football from Chelsea, with Hazard involved again. He makes a yard of space for Moses. He hammers goalwards from the edge of the box, but sees his shot take a slight deflection on its way over.
Oscar skips past Derry. He crosses early towards Torres, but Onuoha does really well to get in front of the Chelsea striker and glance the ball to safety.
Hazard skips past Onuoha. He then rolls the ball into the path of Luiz. He looks to strike first time, but gets his foot under the ball rather than around it and fires high into the crowd. Finishing tonight has been terrible.
Taarabt caught by Cahill. He bounces up before being brushed aside again. He gets his free-kick. Nice to see players looking to stay on their feet. QPR unable to make anything of another attack, as the flag goes up.
Derry left all alone at the back post to meet the set-piece. He nods straight at Turnbull. He should have gone back across goal, rather than near post. There were a lot of bodies in the six-yard box and a touch could have taken the ball into the net.
Nice from Taarabt, as he somehow feeds a pass into Mackie. He beats the offside trap and is in for a moment. He takes a touch, but sees Cahill stick out a leg and put in a brilliant last-ditch tackle. Corner to QPR.
Marin back on his feet after being clattered by Hill. He is then summoned to the sidelines and replaced by Hazard. Like-for-like swap as Chelsea seek added creativity.
SWP striding forward again, but sees a long-range shot blocked at source by Cahill. Marin then goes down at the other end, as the ball squirts into the box. Moses can't get past Fabio and onto the ball.
SWP able to spring clear. Luiz gets back at him, but can't stop him. Taarabt is then found inside the box, but he has no-one to aim at in the middle. He cuts the ball back to Granero, who forces a comfortable save from Turnbull with a curling effort.
Sliced clearance from Cesar keeps QPR on the back foot. Chelsea asking all the questions at the moment. QPR getting everyone back behind the ball. It works as Fabio cuts out a pass down the line from Azpilicueta.
The game is starting to open up a bit. Redknapp may be plotting changes. Chelsea may also think fresh legs could help them force a breakthrough.
Good defending by Hill as he gets in front of Torres, stopping the Chelsea striker from getting a header in on goal. QPR then look to counter with Fabio, but the flag goes up.
The resulting corner for Chelsea comes to nothing. The Blues starting to cut through a little easier now. QPR need to regroup and go again. Mbia concedes a free-kick, doing little to ease the pressure.
Oscar causing QPR problems again. He combines with Bertrand, before ghosting into the box. The ball ends up running loose to Torres, who is denied by a brilliant block from Cesar. Should have scored.
Marin tries again. Moses comes towards the near post, but Derry gets there first. Chelsea able to keep the pressure on and Cahill wins another corner. Marin's delivery is met by Ivanovic, who powers a header inches over the top, clipping the top of the crossbar.
Oscar spins inside the box, opening up a yard of space. He rolls the ball back towards Lampard. He has bodies in his face and can't get a shot away. He settles for a corner. Marin's first effort is put behind again by Fabio.
Ivanovic trying to get forward again, but loses the ball. Taarabt can't do anything with it. He lacks options and is caught on the ball by Luiz. Mbia then bursts forward, but Cahill puts in a well-timed tackle to halt him in his tracks.
Marin dances past Derry with ease, and to the dead-ball line. He fires a low cross across the face of goal. Moses only needs to get a touch six yards out, but fails to as he sticks out a leg. The ball runs away on the far side.
Room for Ivanovic to move into, as he pops up down the left wing. He wins another corner. Again Cesar comes to punch. Torres works the ball back wide to Marin.
Positive from Bertrand as he gets well forward down the Chelsea left and forces a corner. Marin over the set-piece. Cesar comes to meet the delivery and punches to the edge of the box.
Did either manager have inspiring words of wisdom for their troops at the break? Both have been around the coaching block a few times and know what it takes to take something from a game like this.
QPR get the second half up and running, with no changes made by either side at the interval.
Players back with us and we are ready for the second half. Here's hoping it's more entertaining than the first!
Ryland Mannion says: "If Chelsea bring on Mata and Hazard then I reckon they could get a goal or two."
Ashley says: "I understand the need to rotate players at times but we have three big names needed, off the pitch #thinkrafa."
Del Dowling says: "Poor 1st half as predicted! Need both Mata & Hazard to take them apart! #cfc"
Glenn Bowelman says: "Well Chelsea seem to be trying too hard at the moment, they need to get a foothold on this game and stop peppering the QPR goal at every opportunity, hopefully once Chelsea score they will be able to take a breath and push for the win they deserve."
Remember you can also bet in-play at Skybet.com. Chelsea are now 4/9 to take the spoils, with QPR 10/1 and the draw 9/4. You can get 2/1 on Chelsea edging this 1-0.

Chelsea 0 QPR 0. An uneventful first half comes to a close. QPR will be delighted to be level, Chelsea need to offer much more if they want to take maximum points.
Rare touch for Turnbull as he hammers clear for Chelsea. He is then called into action again as he races from his line to collect the ball at he feet of SWP.
Lampard twisting and turning 35 yards from goal, but he has three red shirts for company. He is found in space moments later, but a chipped effort never troubles Cesar as it drifts wide.
Two minutes of stoppage time to be played.
QPR taking a few chances at the back, but see the ball up to haflway. Redknapp slumped in his seat. His side haven't offered too much, but they haven't been carved open either.
As I say that, Oscar forces a smart save from Cesar from a deflected effort. The keeper was going the wrong way and had to stick out a leg. The loose ball makes its way to Moses, who lashes high over the top.
Moses away from Fabio, but the Brazilian does really well to get back at the Chelsea forward and put in a great tackle. QPR have 10 men behind the ball and aren't leaving any gaps.
Fabio well forward from left-back. Once again QPR end up with their wires crossed and a promising attack breaks down. Chelsea back into their passing stride. Ivanovic with a third effort from a long way out which sails into the stands. More groans from the crowd.
Another wayward pass from Luiz. He is trying to be too clever at times. Everything has be clipped through the air, when a simple ball along the ground would do the job. Mata warming up. He is much needed at the moment!
Taarabt can't find Mackie. He throws his arms in the air. He isn't seeing much of the ball. It soon comes back his way, but he expects SWP to run past him and the winger doesn't go. The ball runs harmlessly through to Turnbull. Both sides struggling in the final third.
Granero does well to track Marin and put in a timely challenge. Chelsea then work the ball backwards again. They need to try something different. When they do come forwards, Torres pokes a tame effort straight at Cesar.
Ivanovic allowed to stroll forward again. This time he is dead centre when he looks to pull the trigger from 25 yards. Once again he gets underneath the ball and fires it over the top.
Derry clatters into Marin. He caught him around the neck. Could easily have been booked for that. No caution given. Chelsea quickly back underway, working the ball from wing to wing.
Marin swings the ball high towards the back post, but Cahill and Ivanovic can't get a touch. Oscar sends the ball wide to Marin again. His second cross to the back post tempts Moses, but he bundles into the back of Fabio and concedes a free-kick.
Mackie offside again...just. He is at least trying to break behind. Chelsea amble forward again. Luiz goes wide to Azpilicueta, who sees a cross deflect behind. Set-piece taken quickly, before Nelsen concedes another corner.
SWP pops up on the left wing for QPR. He is alllowed to cut inside onto his favoured right foot. He goes for goal from 20 yards out, but drags a poor effort a long way off target.
Space for Azpilicueta, who hangs over a cross. Cesar opts to punch as he comes through the crowd. He doesn't make the best of contact, but QPR can see the ball to safety. Redknapp would have been looking for his keeper to come and claim that, rather than throw a fist at it.
Marin picks Mbia's pocket, before finding Oscar. He looks to bend the ball towards the bottom corner, but sees his effort flick off Hill and behind for a corner. The resulting set-piece comes to nothing.
Good flick from Mbia, but QPR have no-one down the middle. That's what happens when you play no recognised striker. Luiz then loses the ball for Chelsea in midfield, but the Blues get numbers back quickly.
Derry tracks back with Moses, preventing him from crossing. Chelsea try again, with Azpilicueta darting towards the box. He is blocked off. Luiz decides to go back to Turnbull when the ball drops his way.
Chelsea looking to keep QPR pegged inside their own half. Fabio unable to clear his lines, but he does win a throw. The visitors are having to work really hard for little reward at the moment.
Ivanovic well forward again from centre-half. QPR slow to get out to him, inviting a shot. From 25 yards he looks to pull the trigger, but gets his effort all wrong and fires high into the stands.
Hill comes through the back of Torres, but gets away with it. Lampard is then pulled up for a challenge on Derry. QPR move the ball forward, but Taarabt takes a tumble and gets nothing.
Sloppy touch from Oscar brings groans from the stands. QPR able to go from back to front in one pass. SWP onto the long ball and away from Azpilicueta. He shoots early, but fires across Turnbull and wide of the taregt.
Ambitious from Marin, who this time decides to go for goal himself. He is found 20 yards from goal, slightly to the left of the penalty area. He takes a touch in field before curling the ball high into the stands while looking for the top corner.
Torres twists past Nelsen and finds Oscar, who finds Moses. He forces a corner off Hill. Ivanovic rises highest to meet the set-piece. His header flicks off the leg of Torres and wide. The Spaniard had no time to react.
Marin bursts into the box. He is then caught in two minds and ends up playing a pass inbetween Lampard and Torres, offering neither a sight of goal. Final ball lacking at the moment.
Better from QPR as they work the ball across midfield. SWP then plays a terrible pass and gives it back to Chelsea. Wasted. Bertrand picked out on the left, but his cross his nodded clear by Nelsen.
Torres guides the ball on to Oscar, who breaks past his frontman. He opts to go for goal early as three defenders close in on him. He scuffs his shot badly and it trickles well wide.
Ivanovic has room to move into, but allows Marin to take over. He in turn looks for Bertrand, who goes down on the edge of the box. Mackie did touch him, but not deliberately and outside the area. Nothing given by Lee Mason.
Luiz kindly gives the ball back to QPR. The visitors also looking to play their way out, but have Chelsea pressing as high as possible. Mbia finds a route down the left, before picking out Taarabt. He fires straight at Turnbull from distance.
Head tennis in midfield. Oscar then takes a blow to the face and goes down. He was caught by Luiz, his own team-mate, who only had eyes for the ball and was taking everything that got in his way!
Moses drifts in field from the right. He rolls a pass into Lampard's path. He can't bring the ball under his spell and the ball squirms away from him. Oscar then unable to pick out a run into the box from Moses.
Former Chelsea man Wright-Phillips thrown on in Hoilett's place. He gets a decent reception from the crowd. He barely got warmed up and wouldn't have exepcted to be involved so soon. Can he influence proceedings?
Hoilett appears to be struggling with a hamstring problem. He hobbles away.
Moses invited forward by Torres. His cross takes a deflection, taking the ball to the edge of the box. Luiz arrives on cue, but hammers a volley into the pitch and over the crossbar. Hoilett down and may not be able to continue.
Taarabt looks to break through midfield. He drifts past David Luiz, but then gets things all wrong. He appears to kick the pitch before connecting with the ball and an attempted pass sails out of play. He sits on the floor shaking his head, and well he might.
Flag up against Mackie. Bertrand stepped up at just the right time. Close call and Chelsea were playing a very high line. Azpilicueta floats a dangerous cross into the box, which Torres can't quite get a head to.
Taarabt involved now, but wide on the QPR right. The visitors work the ball in the opposite direction, to Mackie. He clips the ball forward, but Cahill gets a toe to it before Granero. Chelsea unable to find a killer pass as they look to counter.
Oscar is operating wide on the right at the moment. Not really where he wants to be. He wants to get involved down the middle. He has freedom to roam. As does Taarabt, who is yet to have a meaningful touch.
Moses brushes off one tackle, but is knocked slightly off balance and can't dart between two defenders. He soon has the ball back and Chelsea decide to indulge in a bout of keep-ball in the middle of the park.
Cahill steps across to prevent Taarabt from racing into space behind the Chelsea back four. Ivanovic calls on his team-mates to calm down as he rolls a pass to Lampard. Chelsea could actually do with injecting a bit of pace into their play.
Brilliant touch from Oscar drops the ball into the path of Marin. His cross-shot is blocked by Hill. Marin is then looking to get involved again, but sees a pass down the Chelsea right roll behind for a goal kick.
Chelsea prepared to keep things simple at the back, working the ball from side to side. Lampard dropping deep on this occasion to get involved. Patience the order of the day.
Marin too eager to impress on his first Premier League start. Terrible tackle. Chelsea take the opportunity to calm things down. Luiz strolling out from the back, as he operates in a holding role once again. His long ball forward is too high for Torres.
Marin crunches into a challenge on Mbia. He is late and high, as he catches Mbia on the shin. He is lucky to stay on the field. Could easily have been a very early red card.
Cahill walks the ball out from the back before playing a terrible pass out to the left. Bertrand and Ivanovic have to race back to keep the ball in play. Chelsea yet to get going.
Cesar, who is wearing trousers, takes a chance as he allows a back-pass to run across him, across the face of goal and away on the far side. Marin chases all the way and comes close to blocking the eventual clearance.
Scrappy opening, with neither side able to get the ball on the deck. Midfield looking very busy. Will need something special to slice through there.
Chelsea get us up and running.
John Terry grabbing a few words with Harry Redknapp as those not involved on the field make their way out of the tunnel. Pre-match pleasantries done and dusted and we are ready for the off.
Players have emerged from the tunnel so we will have to leave the feedback there for now. There will be further opportunities to have your say at half-time and at the final whistle.
On the other hand, Rob Davies says: "Right, people may be laughing at me at the end of the game but I believe this is QPRs night. Will everything that's going on around Chelsea at the moment that's why. 1-0 QPR, early penalty hold on for dear life!!!!"
One last prediction from each side before we get underway. Luke May says: "Close game tonight, 2-1 to Chelsea would be nice :)."
Mohammed Omar thinks we could be in for a goal fest. He says: "I see another Chelsea hammering perhaps 7-0 with Lampard and Torres both getting a brace. Please Chelsea don't let Lamps go, a #real legend."
Thierry Nyan is backing the Blues to get the job done. He says: "QPR should brace themselves for a beating tonight because Chelsea have become quite resilient now and Marin will do great #cfc."
Paul Yearsley, a Fulham fan, is expecting a close contest. He says: "I'm wanting QPR to get massacred 5-0, but I think it will be a competitive 2-1 win for Chelsea."
Rick Shirran has offered a word of warning to the Blues, saying: "I think this game is going to be a test for Chelsea, not quite the drubbing everyone will be expecting. Hopefully Chelsea will run riot and a cricket score will ensue but we will have to see."
Bartholomew Maida thinks Benitez has got his selection spot on. He says: "It's good that Rafa has opted to rest some of the key players, especially Mata and Cole. They have had many games recently, they need to freshen up. I wouldn't complain if Chelsea win 2-0. It will be understandable, what matters at the end of the day is 3 points. Kudos to Rafa, he knows whats good for the team."
Paul Ryan has faith in the visitors. He says: "I'm predicting an upset tonight. Nelsen to rise like a salmon in the box and head QPR into the lead. A dogged Cesar to keep the Chelsea seige out from thereon in!"
Sean Little sees QPR getting on the scoresheet, but struggling at the back. He says: "Hoping for Chelsea to win 5-1 and Oscar, Moses both to score."
Chris Hague thinks the home side could run riot, and line his pocket in the process. He says: "That's my Bosingwa 1-0 bet at 400/1 down the swanny!!! David Luiz Chelsea 3-1 at 115/1 will have to do instead!!! "Did u see how Clint Hill was ran rings round at weekend??? Think Oscar will do the same tonight... No chance of Torres lol."
Louis Yianni is another looking forward to seeing Marin from the start. He says: "Glad to see Marin straight in the action on Sturridge's departure! I think 4-1 Chelsea #ComeOnYouBlues."
Del Dowling thinks Chelsea will get there in the end. He says: "Chelsea to win after a slow start 2-0, Torres then Mata off the bench! COYB."
Iain fears for QPR, saying: "I don't see QPR stopping the rot yet - worse still they're away. 5-0 Chelsea with the goals being shared between Mata, Hazard (both on from bench), Lampard, Torres and an Ivanovic header coming towards the end."
Paul Carruthers is another expecting a comfortable night for the hosts. He says: "QPR have no chance tonight, Rafa is settling in well and it is great to see Marin getting a starting line up. Sorry QPR fans I think your time in top flight football is up, can't see you staying up this year.. Comfortable win for Chelsea tonight with Torres getting on the score sheet once more."
Ashley Baldock surprised by Chelsea's selection, saying: "No! Can't believe it.... Cole and Mata on the bench, would have thought Chelsea would be going for the big win today and a clean sheet. Mata has improved the team's performance so much this season and QPR have a good attacking front which could possibly break Chelsea's back line down. With Cole at the back it wouldn't be a problem.... (there goes the points in my fantasy football tonight)."
James Pillow disagrees and thinks the Blues will ease to another three-point haul on home soil. He says: "I think we will win 4-0. Torres brace with Oscar and Mata off the bench to score as well. Happy about Ba possibly coming in. He might pull us back in the title race."
John Wark thinks QPR are capable of snatching the spoils this evening. He says: "At last no Cisse in the team! Hoilett playing. Hopefully him Mackie and Taraabt can cause havoc on the break. Benitez gone for a weak team. Time for Harry's magic to rub off and we sneak away with a 1-0 and 3 vital points!!"

Chelsea, as mentioned, are looking upwards, while QPR have no choice but to, as they are back at the bottom. Victory tonight would offer Harry Redknapp's men a timely boost, in their first fixture of 2013.
It is, however, time for attention to turn to events on the field, with there plenty riding on this tie for both sides.
Much of the focus in west London this afternoon has been on comings and goings, with Daniel Sturridge on his way out of Chelsea and Demba Ba possibly on his way in.
London derby at the Bridge, with Chelsea looking to clamber back above another capital rival - Tottenham - into third spot in the table.
Welcome to Stamford Bridge for our coverage of tonight's Premier League encounter between Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers.
