Bayern Munich 0 Arsenal 2. The Gunners gave it their best shot but had too much to do. Bayern make the quarter-finals and Arsenal will end the season empty-handed.
Arteta fells Robben. He really isn't helping matters. Bayern play the free-kick short and head for the corner flag. Robben wins a throw. Bayern edging over the line.
Cazorla wide on the left, but can't get a cross into the box. Poor. Arteta then gives away yet another free-kick. Not great from Arsenal's captain for the night.
Arsenal win another free-kick. They then lose the ball and Bayern counter. Robben is freed, but Mertesacker throws himself in front of the shot. Brave defending.
Three minutes of stoppage-time to be played.
Final minute of the 90. Arteta sends over the free-kick. He aims at Mertesacker, but puts far too much on it. He should have been looking to hang the ball into the box and let those in there battle it out.
Rosicky wins a free-kick. Gomez cautioned. Mertesacker waved forward. Expect him to stay up there now. Everything to go long into the box.
Arsenal need to keep the ball in play and keep it moving. Conceding free-kicks allows Bayern to eat up the clock. Van Buyten sprays their latest set-piece straight out of play.
Have Arsenal got another one in them? They are pushing forward again. Nerves will be jangling in the Bayern back four. Smart play from Javi Martinez again as he wins a free-kick.
It all kicked off after the goal, as Arsenal tried to get the ball back to halfway. Bayern desperate to prevent them doing so. Tymoshchuk goes down, Dante gets involved. Mayhem.
GOAL ARSENAL - KOSCIELNY. This really is game on now. Cazorla's corner is met by Koscielny and his header makes its way past Neuer and into the bottom corner.
Arsenal need to find something from somewhere. Oxlade-Chamberlain slips down the right wing and forces a corner off Alaba.
Cazorla is now also due to serve a suspension. With play back underway, Rosicky wins a free-kick off Muller. Crowd have gone very quiet again.
Cazorla trips Van Buyten as he runs out from the back, and he too has a yellow card flashed in his face.
Javi Martinez booked after colliding with Rosicky. He will now miss Bayern's next European outing. Looks like that will be the first leg of the quarter-finals.
Clever from Javi Martinez as he plays the ball off Gibbs and wins a throw. More seconds tick away. Lahm throws in to Muller, who is able to twist and turn before testing Fabianski's reactions. Another smart, but comfortable stop, by the Gunners keeper.
Bayern make another change. Tymoshchuk sent on in place of Kroos, with Bayern now looking to shut up shop and see this out.
Jenkinson well forward again. He looks to combine with Giroud, but the striker's touch is far too heavy. Robben running away on the counter again, and tempts Mertesacker into a tackle. He is booked for blocking Robben's path.
Gervinho so close to making this very interesting. He plays a one-two with Cazorla before spinning inside the box. He is able to prod the ball past Neuer as Dante dives in, but the ball slides agonisingly across the face of goal.
Oxlade-Chamberlain trying to force the issue with a first-time pass. He had time to gather the ball in, get his head up and run at the Bayern back four. Arsenal realising they are running out of time.
Dante comes across to cut out a break into the box from Jenkinson. He appears to hack the ball behind, but the match officials say he played the ball off Jenkinson. Goal kick to the hosts.
Giroud with half a sight of goal, but the door is quickly slammed in his face. He looks to shoot on the turn, but Bayen had plenty of bodies back.
Arsenal looking to get going, but Bayern are controlling things. Gervinho has gone wide left for Arsenal, with Oxlade-Chamberlain operating down their right.
Robben has another effort on goal, but once again his shooting boots have been left in the dressing room. He fires well over after cutting inside Gibbs.
Giroud cautioned for kicking the ball away. A hand ball decision went against him. Was the right call.
Bayern also make their first change. Mandzukic replaced by Gomez in a like-for-like switch.
Double change by Arsenal, with Ramsey and Walcott making way for Gervinho and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Odd decision to take Walcott off.
Ramsey and Cazorla try a one-two but see their efforts broken up. Bayern surge forward again, but Kroos fires another wayward effort high into the stands.
Throw to Arsenal deep inside the Bayern half. Jenkinson is unable to work a yard of space. So tight down the Arsenal right. Ramsey has a go, but loses the ball.
Javi Martinez forces another corner. Kroos delivers. Giroud's headed clearance drops to Robben on the edge of the box. He is never in control of his volleyed effort and slices well wide.
Brilliant from Muller as he flicks the ball through to Robben. He runs away from the Arsenal back four. Jenkinson flies across his path and Fabianski is able to block a final shot behind. The set-piece is only half-cleared and Arsenal end up having to scramble the ball away.
Gibbs caught out of position again. Robben skips into the space where he should be. Not the best of crosses from him and Mertesacker can hack clear from in front of his own goal.
Free-kick to Bayern inside the Arsenal half. Kroos floats the delivery into the box, where it is glanced away to safety. Plenty of players out warming up.
Robben causing problems again. This time he moves the ball on to Kroos, who drills well wide from the edge of the box. Most of Bayern's efforts on goal tonight have been from distance. Looking at the clock, might be time for Wenger to make changes.
Lahm cuts the ball back to the edge of the box, where Gustavo is waiting. He takes a touch to set himself, before curling the ball narrowly past the upright. Fabianski relieved to see the effort drift wide.
Mandzukic forced backwards as he comes to collect the free-kick. Robben is then sent sprawling again, this time by Jenkinson. Arsenal prepared to put their foot in.
Arsenal caught napping by a quick throw. Muller is able to break into the box. He isn't the quickest, though, and a deflected effort falls kindly for Fabianski. Arsenal break, but are soon chasing back again. Rosicky booked for tripping Robben. He had to put in a challenge.
Cazorla takes the free-kick, but fires a 30-yard effort into the wall. Poor strike as he never got close to troubling Neuer. Arsenal have to make more of opportunities such as that.
Arteta snaps into a challenge on Javi Martinez. Arsenal breaking up Bayern's play in midfield, but offering nothing themselves. As I speak, Walcott is sent scampering down the right. He finds Rosicky, who is tripped by Gustavo wide on the Arsenal right. Chance to load the box.
Ball boys getting the ball back into play very quickly. Would have thought they would be sitting on a few. Not the case. Good news for Arsenal.
Gibbs can't feet Giroud's feet, offering him no opportunity to hold the ball up. Bayern surge forward again, with Muller able to cut inside off the left wing and go for goal. Another tame effort bobbles into the arms of Fabianski.
Muller brushes past Gibbs and drills over a low cross. The ball slips under Fabianski's body, but there is no Bayern player gambling at the back post. Lahm then cautioned for fouling Cazorla as the Gunners try to break.
Lahm turns and slips past Cazorla. Stray pass from Javi Martinez lets Bayern down. Arsenal counter through Walcott, but the flag goes up. It takes him a while to notice. Looking at it again, he appeared to be level and would have been clear.
Arsenal with six men forward on the counter, but Giroud goes for goal from 35 yards. He sends a dipping effort high into the crowd. Waste. Mandzukic down again. He is looking to run down the clock already!
Better from Arsenal, until Cazorla's touch lets him down. Lahm flying forward again. He takes a tumble 25 yards from goal, but is waved back to his feet. Right call as he was barely touched. Gibbs them caught out of position, but Mertesacker can deal with a Lahm cross.
Ramsey squanders possession on halfway. He was looking to get Walcott involved, which Arsenal haven't done enough. Ball put out of play as Mandzukic goes down. He was caught on the arm by Koscielny's boot.
Arteta concedes another free-kick. Wenger not happy and gives the fourth official a mouthful. He needs more from his side. Arsenal have had one attempt at goal so far. They made it count, but they need to pose much more of a threat.
Bayern take a quick free-kick. Kroos tees up Robben 30 yards from goal. He tries his luck again, but is well off target on this occasion. Arsenal sitting a little too deep there on the edge of their own penalty area.
Robben moving through the gears again. Arsenal back-peddling and Koscielny is forced to concede another corner. Kroos delivers from the right, and Giroud is able to nod clear. Set-pieces have provided no threat tonight.
Bayern fans have found their voice again. They were very quiet during the first half. The hosts are still well in control of this tie. Arsenal need to get on the front foot. Giroud trying to do that, but is out-muscled by Dante.
Mandzukic pulls wide to the right wing, as he is getting no joy in the middle. Lahm is then freed to cut inside, but Koscielny is able to block. Bayern keep pressing and Kroos fires a 25-yard drive narrowly wide. Couple of early warning shots to Arsenal.
Robben goes close for Bayern. He is allowed to cut onto his left foot and go for goal. His deflected effort skids inches past the post. Corner to Bayern, which is cleared at the near post.
Koscielny tumbles over Mandzukic, who was backing in and the decision goes Arsenal's ways. Jenkinson then hammers a hopeful punt down the right to no-one.
Bayern get the second half underway. No changes by either side at the interval.
Right, players are out again and we are ready for the off once more. Can Arsenal pull off a Munich miracle? They have 45 minutes to find two more goals.
Ross Brown says: "I think Arsenal are big underdogs as it stands, but if they get another goal then I would expect them to go on and win this."
Jake Cann says: "I give Arsenal credit for scoring an unlikely goal but they need to be more penetrating if they are to score again. Get Oxlade on!!"
Anthony Wagstaff says: "Well 10/10 for effort there, just lacking our passing in the final third a little. At least the fight is back and I can see more oppurtunity in the second for us. It's possible!!!! Come on Arsenal."
Colin Sansom says: "Too little too late.....Gallant first half effort from Arsenal ...but I would not be surprised if Bayern Munich score in the early part of the second half, which basically will end Arsenal's hopes of advancing any further. I am still sticking with Bayern winning this game 2-1."
Joe Harbert says: "I know we can do this. If we can get a goal soon after half time even this Bayern side will panic. COYG!"
Waleed Irfan says: "Solid start from Arsenal! Got to bring on The OX to inject some pace and give more problems to the Bayern defence! #COYG"

Bayern 0 Arsenal 1. The Gunners got off to the best possible start and lead the interval. They will need to step things up a bit in the second half if they are to find another two.
Muller unable to keep a long ball down the Bayern left in play. Fabianski takes his time with the goal kick. Arsenal happy to get in at half-time with a lead.
One minute of stoppage-time to be played.
Neuer hammers long. Ramsey beavers away to win the ball back for Arsenal. Robben runs back with him and earns a throw. Bayern in rush to get going, it would seem.
Ramsey finds space on the right wing, but crosses onto the head of Dante. The ball comes back to him and he finds Rosicky. An attempted one-two with Giroud comes to nothing. As Bayern counter, Gibbs dives into a challenge on Robben and is booked.
Danete looks wide this time, but once again Arsenal are able to deal with the long ball tactic. They can't make any headway, though, going forward.
Robben forced backwards as Gibbs presses him on halfway. Bayern ate then forced to go long, with Dante sending a stray pass through to Fabianski. Mandzukic has seen little of the ball so far tonight.
Giroud hobbles back on. As he does, Arsenal win an attacking throw. Backwards they go again. Arteta is able to drift forward, but Gustavo goes with him and puts in a block tackle on the edge of the box.
Snow falling again in Munich. Giroud limps off, but expect him to be back. Back underway as Bayern return the ball to Fabianski. Arsenal looking to be patient in pursuit of a second.
Giroud now has a problem. He got to a loose ball ahead of Van Buyten and was caught by the Bayern defender. He stays down and will require treatment. He was waving his arms around to start with, but now appears to be okay.
Ramsey flying forward. He finds Rosicky, but he takes a heavy touch and allows Dante to clear. Arsenal soon back on the ball down their right. Nice football, but it doesn't get them anywhere.
Robben takes a touch before crossing. Koscielny in the right place for Arsenal. The ball breaks for Kroos, who looks for Muller down the channels. Mertesacker slides in to clear.
Koscielny steps up to cut out a pass intended for Kroos. Arsenal can't break and the ball ends up back with Neuer. Bayern forced to play sideways in midfield.
Gibbs appears to be struggling slightly. The last thing he needs is to pick up another injury. Hopefully he can run it off, whatever it may be. Ramsey able to make headway down the left, until Lahm puts in a timely challenge.
Kroos delivers, and sees the ball glanced behind for a corner. Robben over the set-piece. His delivery to the near post is hammered clear by Giroud.
Arteta with another foul, this time on Lahm. Muller then tempts Ramsey into a mistimed tackle. Bayern moving steadily up the field. They are now 35 yards from goal, just left of centre. Opportunity to load the box.
Jenkinson bombing down the right, and winning a throw. Arsenal then go backwards. Bayern sitting a little deeper now and not pressing quite so high, giving the Gunners more time on the ball and able to pick a pass.
Arteta fells Kroos. Robben found again wide on the right. He and Muller are switching all the time, keeping Arsenal on their toes. The Gunners do well to win the ball back and find Walcott. He sends over a great low cross which just evades Giroud in the middle.
Fabianski sells Mertesacker short with a nervy pass, but the Arsenal defender sees the ball out. Bayern come again, and Mertesacker hammers a poor clearance into the path of Muller. He is forced wide and can only fire into the side-netting from a tight angle.
Robben allowed to drift inside off the left flank. He has three defenders in his face, but goes for goal. He drags an effort from 20 yards out across goal and well wide of the target.
Poor final ball from Walcott as Arsenal look to counter at pace. The winger then does well to force Alaba into going back to his keeper. Bayern prepared to play their way out from the back.
Great defending from Jenkinson. He had Robben running at him at pace. He backed off to 25 yards from goal, before stepping in and taking the ball away from the Dutchman. Moment of concern for Arsenal as they were caught with men up field.
Another morale-boosting stop from Fabianski. Kroos once again the man able to find a yard of space on the edge of the box. His low drive is comfortably kept out. Arsenal break out and win a free-kick, Cazorla's delivery is nodded clear.
Alaba fortunate to see the ball bounce over Rosicky, who is looking to benefit from a breakdown in communication at the back for Bayern. Had he been able to get a touch, Neuer was stranded on the edge of his box.
Kroos doesn't fancy having a go with his left foot from 25 yards out. Bayern work the ball right, and then back into the middle. Javi Martinez is teed up, but skies an ambitious effort from distance into the crowd.
Lahm opts against sending over a cross. His pass to Gustavo is gather at the second attempt as the Bayern man slips, again. Gustavo able to move into space on the right, but Fabianski confident again as he comes to claim.
Rosicky waves his team-mates forward as the ball is played back to Neuer - they don't listen. Arsenal are, however, able to keep Bayern pegged inside their own half. Wenger will be happy enough with what he has seen so far.
Kroos stays down after challenging Ramsey. He appeared to take a knock to the leg. He is soon back on his feet and okay to continue. Bayern forced to go backwards.
Mertesacker goes back to Fabianski. He takes a touch before clearing. Probably a wise choice. Bayern soon coming back at him though. Alaba is able to swing over a cross from the left flank, but Fabianski shows safe hands to gather the delivery into his chest.
Ramsey well forward for Arsenal. Yet again the Gunners' passing game lets them down. Cazorla looks wide to the right for Giroud, but plays the ball behind his striker and out for a throw. He throws his arms up in frustration.
Dante with a wayward clearance for Bayern, which runs through to Mertesacker. Arsenal squander possession again and Lahm is able to move forward. He finds Muller, who feels he has played the ball off Koscielny and behind. He did, but the decision is goal kick. Odd one.
Arteta goes backwards from a free-kick on halfway. Think Arsenal should be looking to force the issue, not take their foot off the gas. If they got another before half-time, Bayern would be rocking.
Nice build-up from Bayern, with the ball eventually fed into the box by Robben for Mandzukic to chase. Solid from Mertesacker as he holds the striker off and allows Fabianski to slide in and gather the ball.
Time and space for Kroos once again 25 yards from goal. He opts against a first-time shot and sees his eventual effort blocked. The ball breaks loose to Lahm, who fires at Koscielny from the edge of the box. Rosicky this time with a wasteful pass as Arsenal fail to ease the pressure.
Giroud unable to bring a Fabianski clearance under his spell. Jenkinson able to keeper Bayern at bay as he takes the ball off Muller's toe. The Germany international has now pulled out to the left.
Arteta with a misplaced pass out from midfield. Players slipping all over the place. A few may need to look at their footwear. It is freezing in Munich and the pitch is very firm.
Robben touches the ball on to Muller, who looks wide to his right. Arsenal get numbers flooding back and shut the door in Bayern's face. No way through for the hosts.
Arsenal win a free-kick in a promising position - 40 yards from goal, dead centre. Cazorla lifts the ball in towards Mertesacker. He sticks out one of those long legs, but can't make contact and the ball runs behind. Bit of a waste.
Muller able to force a corner. Fabianski not happy with the decision. Delivery flashes through a crowded penalty area and ends up at the feet of Gustavo. He fires a half-volley high over the top from 12 yards out.
Rosicky sends an early ball out towards Walcott. He is quick, but not that quick. Alaba able to get across and send the ball back to Neuer. Bayern move forward again, with Lahm floating over another harmless delivery from the right.
Giroud able to run the ball over halfway, but he finds himself stuck wide on the left and has no-one to aim at in the middle. Bayern counter, but Lahm's cross from the right is nodded clear by Koscielny.
Arsenal need to maintain this tempo, they are giving Bayern no time to dwell on the ball. Giroud doing his bit as he chases down a back-pass to Neuer.
Muller goes wide to Lahm, who will look to get forward as much as possible. He tries to return the ball to Muller, but he has once again drifted offside. Risky from Arsenal as they pushed up on the edge of their own box.
Arteta drops deep to get involved. He is then caught on the ball by Kroos. He gets a sight of goal and pulls the trigger from 20 yards out. Fabianski comfortably behind the shot and saves with ease.
What a start for Arsenal. Bayern look stunned, and well they might. Still a long way to go, but the Gunners have taken the first step up the mountain.
GOAL ARSENAL - GIROUD. Game on at the Allianz Arena. Best possible start for the Gunners. Walcott is slipped into space down the right. He fires across the face of goal and Giroud is on hand to bundle home from close range.
Bayern working hard to press high up the field and prevent Arsenal from slipping into their stride. The Gunners are seeing plenty of the ball, though. All inside their own half at the moment.
Robben starting on the left for Bayern, and is involved immediately. Arsenal get plenty of men behind the ball. He gets a second chance to feed a pass through, and Muller is flagged offside. Arsenal playing a very high line yet again.
Arsenal get us up and running.
Champions League anthem rings out around the Allianz Arena. Bayern don't look nervous, they look ready. Arsenal need to get off to a flier and make the hosts question themselves.
A good note to end our pre-match feedback on. There will be further opportunities to have your say at half-time and at the final whistle, but the players are now out on the field so we will turn our attention to the game.
Tom from Norfolk sees the hosts buckling under the pressure. He says: "I think nerves will beat Bayern and Arsenal will win 3-0, I really believe. The scene is set."
Matty Wilson is another going for Arsenal to claim a welcome win. He says: "Great odds on Arsenal tonight 7-1 always worth a shout! Walcott to get the first and Arsenal to win 2-1 and bow out on the night, come on you Gunners!!!"
On the keeping situation, Jim Dunker says: "I would rather see Mannone in over Fabianski, though it may be a good test on Arsenal getting a new keeper in the off-season without reservation. Mannone played well, with some errors, but far more comfortable & confident than Fabianski's past efforts."
Fabianski must be nervous as he goes through his warm-up. He hasn't played for 13 months and is thrown in tonight. One gamble too far? We will find out soon enough.
Spencer is another who thinks Arsenal could win on the night, but bow out. He says: "I think Arsenal to go 2-0 up with 10 min to go and be pushing for 3rd but then Robben will score in 89th so Bayern through."
Thomas McAlindon feels a big night coming on. He says: "I honestly think tonight is going to be make or break, if we win here we'll show our true spirit if we loose we'll flop! :("
A little over 20 minutes until kick-off at the Allianz Arena. Keep your thoughts coming in to Chris.Burton@bskyb.com or @SkySportsChrisB. Can Arsenal get the early goal they so desperately need to offer them hope?
Derek Simpson fears for the visitors. He says: "Can see Bayern taking the same 3 off Arsenal again tonight ..... But with no reply.... Arsenal just don't have the quality these days up front."
Anthony Wagstaff feels Arsenal may have already given up the ghost. He says: "You have to say from Arsene Wenger's team selection he's got an eye on Swansea at the weekend and not confident on overcoming Bayern tonight. As an Arsenal fan it's disappointing to say, but 3 goals is a massive ask. Arsenal still to win 2-1 Walcott and Cazorla to score."
Jim Dunker will be taking in tonight's action from warmer climes. He says: "Sitting in sunny San Diego, California, waiting for the live commentary. Glad to see a Czech referee, since Rosicky is starting, maybe our best chance to overturn the 1st leg."
Jordan Harris is another looking for positivity. He says: "We might win, we might not. Either way lets jut get behind the team! What's wrong with everyone?! #COYG"
Alex Bullions thinks we could be in for a long evening. He says: "Arsenal will win 3-1 and take the match on penalties. Arsenal won't win this on aggregate."

They have been in imperious form both domestically and in Europe this season and have offered no indication that they will leave the door open for Arsenal. Anything, though, could happen.
Bayern will be determined to ensure that it is they who make the last eight, with the German giants looking to make it to a third final in four years.
The Gunners have it all to do if they turn the tie around, but were they to do so they would keep the British flag flying by becoming the only Premier League or SPL representative in the quarter-final draw.
Arsenal arrive in Germany trailing 3-1 from the first leg of their last-16 encounter and with a mountain to climb if they are to prolong their European adventure.
Welcome to the Allianz Arena for our coverage of tonight's UEFA Champions League clash between Bayern Munich and Arsenal.
