Ian Goodison: Has an outside chance

Veteran defender Ian Goodison has an outside chance of returning to Tranmere's squad to face Boro on Sunday.

The 40-year-old former Jamaica international missed last weekend's 3-0 loss at MK Dons with a groin injury but will be among the substitutes if he proves his fitness to manager Ronnie Moore.

Ben Gibson's first start in over three months following an abductor problem was the only positive for Rovers to take at the stadium:mk as they slumped to their seventh defeat in 10 games and the Middlesbrough loanee will keep his starting place against Boro.

Andy Robinson (groin) and Adam McGurk (collapsed lung) are both ruled out but are making progress as they look to feature in the end-of-season run-in.

Loanees Paul Corry and Donervon Daniels are also absentees after they returned to their parent clubs in the week.

The Wirral side fell out of the top six for the first time this season after the defeat against Karl Robinson's side and will be looking for a return to form in front of the television cameras.

Managerless Stevenage are set to be without Lee Hills and Marcus Haber when they head to the Wirral.

Left-back Hills suffered a hamstring injury during Tuesday night's 2-0 defeat by Bury, a result which cost boss Gary Smith his job 24 hours later.

Striker Haber missed that game and remains on international duty with Canada.

Skipper Mark Roberts will take temporary charge of Boro as he did for three matches prior to Smith's appointment in January 2012.

Winger Filipe Morais remains sidelined with an ankle problem and defender Jon Ashton is a long-term casualty with an Achilles injury.

Miguel Comminges is likely to start in Hills' absence while Darius Charles could also earn a recall in the back four.
