Efe Sodje: Back from loan spell

Shakers boss Kevin Blackwell has been given an extra option as he seeks to kickstart his side's relegation escape.

Veteran defender Efe Sodje has returned from his loan spell at Barrow and will go straight into the squad to face Boro.

Blackwell has no new injury or suspension concerns following Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to 10-man Colchester but is primed to ring the changes to prevent a fifth consecutive home defeat.

Nick Ajose came on to replace Carl Regan at half time against the U's and is first in line for a recall, while Peterborough loanee Jonson Clarke-Harris will also hope to earn a starting spot.

Still restricted by a transfer embargo, Blackwell is also hindered by a number of long-term injuries.

Tom Soares (hamstring), Phil Picken (knee), Adam Lockwood (groin) and Shane Byrne (blood infection) are all ruled out until next season.

The visitors can welcome back defenders David Gray and Darius Charles from suspension.

Full-back Gray has completed a two-match ban for collecting 10 yellow cards this season and centre-half Charles missed Saturday's clash with Sheffield United after he was sent off against Bournemouth in midweek.

However, the duo may have their work cut out to get back in the team after Boro ran out surprise 4-0 winners against the Blades.

One player who must be assured of a place is Spanish striker Dani Lopez, who returned from a loan spell at Barnet to hit a memorable hat-trick.

Midfielder Marcus Haber should be involved before linking up with the Canada squad this weekend, while defender Jon Ashton remains their only long-term absentee due to an Achilles injury.
