Steve Arnold: Back in contention

Steve Arnold returns to the Stevenage squad for the midweek tie.

The goalkeeper missed last Tuesday's 2-0 defeat by Brentford through suspension after he was sent off against Carlisle.

Chris Day was recalled against the Bees and manager Gary Smith must decide whether to stick with him or bring Arnold straight back in.

Andy Iro could be in line for his debut after completing a successful two-month loan at Barnet.

Smith could turn to Iro, who moved to Broadhall Way in the summer after returning to his homeland from the MLS in America, after loaning fellow defender Bondz N'Gala to Barnet last week along with striker Dani Lopez.

Smith made four other changes against Brentford so Mark Roberts, James Dunne, Filipe Morais and Steve Beleck are pushing for recalls.

Defender Jon Ashton (Achilles) remains on the sidelines.

Caretaker manager Tony Philliskirk is set to select from the same squad that secured a draw in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Jordan Obita opened the scoring in Saturday's dramatic 2-2 draw with Everton and the on-loan Reading winger is fit to feature once again having departed early with cramp.

Injury-time goal hero Matt Smith and club captain Dean Furman could push for starts following their positive contributions from the bench, and Philliskirk's desire to freshen up his XI may also bring veteran defender Cliff Byrne into contention.

Left-sided midfield duo Youssouf M'Changama and Cristian Montano remain sidelined with respective knee and thigh injuries.

Latics are unbeaten in two outings under Philliskirk, having beaten MK Dons 3-1 in their last league encounter.
