After losing to Everton on the opening day of the season, they won 25 of their next 29 games. Sir Alex Ferguson congratulates his side as the players go to the fans. They have 84 points from their 34 games. The champagne corks will be popping in the dressing room tonight.
Manchester United are champions of England for a 20th time. They secured it in style thanks to a magnificent first-half hat-trick from Robin van Persie.
We're into TWO added minutes at Old Trafford and the party has started.
It's celebration time at Old Trafford as we approach stoppage time.
El Ahmadi's right-foot shot is easily caught by David de Gea at his near post.
Phil Jones brings down Karim El Ahmadi just outside the box.
Robin van Persie really has been the man tonight as he wins the ball back in a defensive position before starting a counter-attack.
Shinji Kagawa gets the ball back to Antonio Valencia, but Brad Guzan comes out to claim the ball at his feet.
Usman Abdulqadir emails in to say: "Surely Rooney is on his way out of United. The match is won, the trophy won. And he has to be substituted three times in a row?"
Ciaran Clark makes a timely interception after a poor pass across the backline.
Ciaran Clark replaces Joe Bennett, which means Nathan Baker goes over to left-back and Clark will join Vlaar in central defence.
@Magee_09 Tweets: "Well they'll be a lot of blue shirts turning in to red shirts again."
Danny Welbeck takes a heavy knock in the knee from Ashley Westwood's challenge.
BAD MISS!! Antonio Valencia picks out Shinji Kagawa in the box, but the Japan international somehow contrives to miss the target from just a couple of yards out.
TIPPED OVER!! Karim El Ahmadi's dipper is touched over the crossbar by David de Gea. What a good effort from the Moroccan.
Kazza is not a happy Villain: "We always knew to come away with at least a point would be a big ask but dear me! Where do i start? The defending has been dreadful. We've barely completed any passes, villa just seem devoid of ideas and direction. This is turning into an exhibition match for Utd!"
@mcmennis Tweets: "I'm an MCFC fan, and would like to publicly congratulate MUFC on their 20th title, here's to next year."
Just before that substitution, Jonny Evans very nearly saw his miskick trickle into the far corner, but it didn't have enough pace on it and Villa cleared their lines.
Danny Welbeck replaces Wayne Rooney for United.
@Stevennic11 Tweets: "UNITED champions of England! How it should be! Van persi to score more! World class team!!!!!"
Ron Vlaar denies Shinji Kagawa a way through to goal.
The crowd chant Robin van Persie's name and he applauds them.

Andreas Weimann gets into a good position and bends his right-foot curler past the far post.
This second half has been like a procession for Manchester United. Everybody seems to be waiting for the final whistle.
@JS1994 1m Tweets: "Some may heap praise on RVP but for me Giggs has been brilliant also. Just keeps getting better and better." Not bad for a 39-year-old!
Ryan Giggs' lay-off is struck flush by Wayne Rooney, but concrete Ron Vlaar makes a solid block.
@Vanitty7789 Tweets: "Man Utd to win their 20th title and for RVP to score a hat-trick. This was defitnetly written in the stars, a million miles away."
Steve isn't a happy man: "Reading some of the United fans comments - laughable - world class this and world class that !!!!!!!!!! They are playing a very poor team - relegation candidates for heavens sake."
Villa have conceded 63 goals, which is by far their worst defensive season. They have now gone 18 games without keeping a clean sheet, the longest current run in the Premier League.
United are allowing Villa to come on to them as they look to sit back and counter-attack.
@Holl92 Tweets: "Amazing performance from Manchester United, 20th Premier League Title tonight. RVP to get a hat-trick against Arsenal."
Villa keep a bit of possession now and the away fans cheer every pass rather sarcastically.
Daniel Jones says: "Rooney is a new man in midfield. Hoping he doesn't leave and instead fills that role next season! Get Hernandez up with RvP more often too!"
The Old Trafford crowd are enjoying this performance now but Sir Alex Ferguson is on the touchline barking out orders.
Wayne Wilson says: "Van Persie has been world class! Maybe goal of the year in terms of technique, it was brilliant! C'mon United!"
GOOD SAVE! Karim El Ahmadi pressures Wayne Rooney into a mistake and then Christian Benteke's low drive is parried away by David de Gea.

United win a couple of quick corners, the second of which is very nearly met by Wayne Rooney at the near post.
@costley95 says: "I want to see united win preferably with lots of goals from RVP for my fantasy team, maybe one or two from benteke for extra points."
@DannySm1th1 Tweets: "Rooney has looked at home in midfield, this is the best he's been all season!"
46 Incidentally Robin Van Persie scored the quickest Premier League hat-trick in nine years as Karim El Ahmadi replaces Charles N'Zogbia for Villa.
Daniel Cannon says: "Van persie running riot! I love the man!!! Not bad having him as fantasy football captain either!!"
þ@DannyBayley Tweets: "Brilliant from United so far, helping Wigan out massively!"

Manchester United are inching ever closer to their 20th league championship. Robin van Persie's hat-trick has seen them simple overwhelm Aston Villa at Old Trafford. Ryan Giggs set him for the first after two minutes before the flying Dutchman scored the goal of the game and maybe the season. Wayne Rooney's wonderful pass was superbly volleyed into the far corner by the flying Dutchman. He then bagged his hat-trick after Giggs supplied the cross once again. Villa have been simply outclassed!
Wayne Rooney is being allowed way to much time and space in the middle of the park and Paul Lambert will need to address that at the break. Ron Vlaar hits a speculative 30-yarder which flies well over. We're into TWO added minutes of stoppage time.
Daniel Jones is back in touch to say: "RvP is a machine today, I really want Utd to win and it seems like it's going to happen. A message to all the Villa fans though, your remaining fixtures will be easier than this, and I still favour you to stay up! If you do, keep Benteke. Other clubs will be in for him but you have to keep him."
Gabby Agbonlahor turns away from Jonny Evans before cracking his left-foot strike inches wide of David De Gea's near post.
Shinji Kagawa finds Ryan Giggs who delivers this cross from the left first-time, but Brad Guzan is alert to claim the ball.
It has been 23 Premier League games since Aston Villa last kept a clean sheet. That has been their problem. They just cannot defend!
Ashley Westwood's free-kick is straight into the grateful hands of David De Gea.
Charles N'Zogbia is felled by Evra once again as Villa win a free-kick in United's half.
@Adzyboy_TV adds: "Finally, Man United are playing like Champions, and Van Persie is showing Villa the Premiership's back door!"
@Boysie_Baldock Tweets: "What a joke 3 down after 30mins! This will be a cricket score! We need to wake up else relegation it is! Distraught comes to mind!"
Ibrahim Sidat emails in to say: "This is more like it! Vintage Man Utd. I told my mate at work that RVP will be rampant in front if goal tonight! So far it's looking like I was right!"
This game is already beyond Villa who must now start thinking about their goals against column.
HAT-TRICK FOR RVP!! Shinji Kagawa sends Ryan Giggs away down the left and his low ball across the box is controlled by the Dutchman before he calmly sorts his feet out and then lashes his left-foot shot high into the roof of the net. It's been an MVP performance by RVP.
GOAL!!! ROBIN VAN PERSIE
Jonny Evans seems to be moving better at the back as Ashley Westwood over hits his pass.
Better from Villa as they win a corner and then the ball back in is miskicked by Andreas Weimann.
Fabian Delph has been warned by Anthony Taylor and in fact called skipper Ron Vlaar over to have a word with his player.
@LBuxton10 Tweets: "Fantastic play this from United, the best i've seen all season!"
The news is that central defender Jonny Evans could be coming off in the next few minutes. He seems to have picked up an injury.
Charles N'Zogbia is tripped up by Patrice Evra and referee Anthony Taylor books the United skipper.
Daniel Jones emails in to say: "Good to see RVP back in the goals properly! We're dominating the game, but I like Villa and hope they survive despite any result today."
Joe Bennett's left-foot delivery is well caught by David De Gea.
Villa have won just one of their last 34 Premier League games against Manchester United (L24 D9); with this victory coming at Old Trafford in December 2009.
Michael Carrick seems to have recovered from his earlier knock. United are back on the ball.
@KaTyCaNaVaN is back in touch to Tweet: "Well IN RVP!! Making me some money tonight."
Joe Bennett sneaks in to win the ball, but his left-foot cross is way too deep.
Michael Carrick is hobbling about and doesn't look to be able to continue.
Sir Alex Ferguson's reaction to RvP's left-foot volley was something to behold. He almost stage dived!
@Raj_TDC_LSoD Tweets: "What did i say lol Van Persie to score."
Christian Benteke very nearly gets Gabby Agbonlahor in, but overcooks his pass.
Ryan Giggs hacks down Gabby Agbonlahor with a very late challenge, but referee Anthony Taylor just hands him a stern warning.
Jordan Else is not a happy Villa fan: "It should be 4 - 0 to Man United from the way we've been defending so far."
Technique and power...RvP's second goal of the game had the lot. Simply amazing! The men in red are dominating possession.
WHAT A GOAL!! Magnificent goal by Manchester United, who have simply been on a different planet to Villa. Wayne Rooney's sensational pass from the halfway line is smashed into the far corner by the Dutchman, who met it flush on the volley! That was a worldy! His 23rd Premier League goal of the season and his 27th in all-competitions.
GOAL!!! ROBIN VAN PERSIE
VILLA COME CLOSE! The visitors break through Andreas Weimann and he sets up his strike partner Christian Benteke who fires just over the crossbar.
OFF THE POST!! Rafael's right-foot bender strikes the far post with Brad Guzan beaten.
Ryan Giggs takes Matthew Lowton apart down the left before his cross is headed down by van Persie, but Shinji Kagawa's effort is well blocked by Ron Vlaar.
Wayne Rooney is definitely playing in a deeper role tonight and he finds Antonio Valencia in all sorts of space once again.
Ryan Giggs' inswinger is well collected by Brad Guzan in the Villa goal.
Rafael eases past young Joe Bennett and now United earn a free-kick wide right.
Manchester United have now scored in ever one of the last 66 home games since they were beaten 1-0 by Aston Villa back in December 2009 when Gabby Agbonlahor scored the winner.
It's been an open start to this game as Villa come forward and Andreas Weimann almost creeps in at the near post.
WHAT A START!! Rafael's deep cross to the back post is pulled across the face of goal by Ryan Giggs for you know who! RvP has now scored in three successive games and has given United the start they were desperately craving.
GOAL!!! ROBIN VAN PERSIE
Wayne Rooney has startedd really deep again and picks out Antonio Valencia out wide.
Manchester United are 90 minutes away from their 20th league championship. They get us underway as referee Anthony Taylor blows his whistle.
The pitch is in excellent condition considering it's going to be ripped up at the end of the season. Let's hope for a cracker!
Dave Birch is back in touch to say: "Ha ha no Raz I'm not related to the legend that is Paul Birch but if we had 11 Paul Birchies out there tonight I'd back us to win. UTV."
The teams are on their way out. Manchester United are wearing their traditional red, white and black kit, while Aston Villa are in their luminous green shirts and socks with black shorts. The atmosphere is simply crackling!
Meanwhile, Malcolm Watts says: "I think too many so-called football experts will happily write Villa off and expect them to be beaten. I am going for 2-2 Draw as United have this habit of equalising when we are winning in the 94th Minute but would not rule out a 3-2 win for Villa. It will be a close end to end attacking game with Guzan at this very best."
Gaz, from Birmingham says: "I'd love to think Villa could pull of the win tonight but I don't fancy their chances. As a Birmingham City fan, I look forward to future derby games, but I'd prefer to see them played in the Premier League rather than the championship. Villa to lose tonight 1-0 in a lacklustre game, but to stay up."
Dave Birch emails in to say: "Hi Raz, I'm delighted with tonight's team, it shows were going for it and we have the players to cause Man Utd problems. Our record at The Theatre Of Nightmares isn't good though so anything out of this game and I'll be well chuffed. I think they'll be goals but Utd always score late against us, I'm going for a 5 goal thriller but we're staying up." No relation to Ex-Villain Paul Birch then Dave?
@andrewnorton96 Tweets: "Realistically a Man Utd win 3-1, for some reason I don't think Villa will let Utd win without a fight. But we will see."
Great comments! If you'd like to air your views during the match, email Raz...that's me! at firstname.lastname@example.org or Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish the best.
Brian A Cook says: "I just hope that Villa could do it. I can live in dreamland! It is a funny old game!" It is that Brian, it is that!
Peter Robinson from Chicago says: "Hopefully we (Villa) can some how get a draw today but realistically think we are in for a hiding 4-1."
Matthew Steele says: "Don't think it will be as 1 sided as many think. I'm going for 1v0 utd but villa to give them a few nervous moments! RVP with goal from a free kick or pen!"
Garry Harding in Manchester says: "I can't see anything other than a United win tonight, but as an honest and gracious City fan I congratulate them on winning the title, the best team won this year, so it's onto next year for another battle. Manchester is the capital of football in England."
Shane Leybourne in Enfield says: "I'm a man united fan but think it won't be all one sided tonight. Benteke is proving to be dangerous and if Weimann and Agbonlahor have good games they could cause us serious problems. I'm predicting villa to score first but united to come back and win with goals from Rooney and RvP."
Tony Harvey emails in to say: "Tough game tonight for the Villa Boys...been playing ok recently and will be difficult to spoil the title party. But i am confident we won't just lie down we need the points too. This will be a great game and i can see Villa stealing a point COTV!!"
@HeathB10 Tweets: "I can see a 2-0 win with rooney scoring the opener. Then Rvp adding a second. Villa will pile the pressure on no doubt about it."
@rdl178 says: "Villa to start well and finish the first half 1-0 through Agbonlahor! 1-1 full time! United to score from a corner, possibly Evra!"
@pressuredtojoin Tweets: "Gabby back is a bonus. Just hope for a spirited performance, but most of all no injuries for the crucial run in."
@GHKMiller Tweets: "I've backed Benteke to score first and Villa to win this tie. Villa should've won the last match, relegation will spur them on."
@TrojanArtist Tweets: "I can see United hitting villa for 5! A brace from van persie and kagawa with rafael popping up with a delightful 5th!!"
@leej3108 Tweets: "United to win comfortably tonight and seal a 20th title....villa to stay up though"
@Leshon_Lee Tweets: "Hey raz, I think the score is gonna be 3-0 man utd... 2 from van persie and 1 from rooney."
@Boysie_Baldock Tweets: "I really hope we win! I can see Hernandez scoring im praying we win but realistically 3-1 villa score first COYV come on villa!!"
Marcus says: "Gonna be great game tonight I'm a huge United fan and we should win this easy, wanna see a professional performance tonight going for 2-1 win."
Gerry in sunny Miami awaiting the game says: "I think Man Utd will 3-0 with goals from RVP, Welbeck, Young and be crowned champions once again."
@_HarryFoley Tweets: "I don't see anything less than a United win tonight. Villa don't have enough experience to win at OT regardless of circumstances."
Manchester United are 2/9 to claim victory with our friends @Skybet, who make Aston Villa 12/1 and the draw 6/1. Christian Benteke is price boosted to 10/1 to open the scoring with Robin van Persie the 5/2 favourite, having ended a nine-match goal drought by netting against both Stoke and West Ham. Shinji Kagawa to score first and a 4-0 win is 50/1 or Javier Hernandez to come off the bench and score first and United to win 2-0 is 25/1. Meanwhile, Andreas Weimann to score first and either Villa to win 2-1 or to draw 1-1 is 120/1. This fixture has seen at least four goals in four of the past five years, but I'm hedging my bets and going for a tight home win tonight - 2-1, which is priced at 9/1. Well worth a flutter in my book! Right-click here SKYBET and open in a new tab to place your bets on this match while keeping an eye on the live commentary.

Great comments ladies and gents. Keep them coming in before the 8pm (BST) kick-off. Email Raz...that's me! at email@example.com or Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish as many as I can.
And @bewls13 says: "I think Man Utd will do it tonight with a 4-2 victory and the title will be singing home sweet home all the way to Old Trafford." Plenty of you think there will be plenty of goals tonight. Let's hope so!
Meanwhile, @darrenhamilton3 Tweets: "Hi Raz. I think United will win 2-1 with a Van Persie double, but Villa might make things anxious with an early goal!"
@SirMattSlade Tweets: "Man Utd won't let this one go - I say 4-0 with a brace each from Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney."
@KaTyCaNaVaN Tweets: "Reckon a United win, 2-1 or a close 3-2. Goals from RVP for United, N'Zogbia for Villa and a late one from Hernandez!!"
Now for the Tweets and @stefanere2k9 says: "I think United will lift the title tonight with a 4-0 score line. Rooney and kawaga to grab one each and rvp to grab 2." Confident then!
Jordan Else is next to write in: "Hey Raz, I honestly think in this match anything could happen, United could win by 1 goal, by 5 goals or it could be a draw which is what I'm going for, or a Villa win, should be a very exciting game tonight, any news on whether Agbonlahor is fit enough to play?" He should be fit tonight Jordan. As soon as I hear the team news, I'll let you all know.
M.J.Watkins says: "RVP been signing of the year for me and I am a brighton fan - 6-1 for a hat-trick tonight and I can't see him biting anyone!" Maybe just the back of the net if he scores tonight!
Dan Holloway in Kent is feeling pretty confident ahead of tonight's clash: "Hi Raz. It's gonna be a walk in the park for United tonight. 3-0 without breaking sweat. I'm gonna be watching Rooney's performance with interest tonight. With all the rumours around that he's leaving I'll keeping an eye on his body language." You'll need some pro-zone action then Dan!
Dave Mac is next to have his say: "Hi Raz! Looking forward so much to the match - and your excellent commentary and observations! I have followed United since 1963 and seen a lot of ups and a good few downs - hope tonight will prove to be the night for an up! I'm going to have a bet on United to win 3-1 and celebrate in style." Good luck to you Dave!
James Connolly is first to email in tonight and he says: "Hope to see a very attacking line up the likes of Kagawa, Van persie and Rooney would be great and even better for them all to get on score sheet be nice boost of confidence coming into Arsenal and Chelsea games."
Can Villa spoil United's title party? Email Raz...that's me! at firstname.lastname@example.org or Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish as many as I can.
"We'll go and try and win, I've never deviated from that," said Lambert. "Any games that we've played in we've gone to try and win, but you also know that you've got to respect the opposition you're playing against. Manchester United are the best team in the country at the minute." Lambert has always maintained he is confident Villa will beat the drop - and has been backed in that belief by Prime Minister and Villa fan David Cameron. "People are always going to have their own opinions on it," said the Claret and Blue boss. "The main thing is that we do our jobs and if the Prime Minister thinks that then it's really good of him. We'll wait and see come the end of the season."
Villa, meanwhile, remain entrenched in the relegation battle as the scrap for survival intensifies. However, they have timed a run of form nicely, picking up 10 points from their last five games and boss Paul Lambert sees no reason why they cannot take something from the game. A win would relegate both Reading and QPR. Do you Villa fans think your boys can cause a major upset tonight?
Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted the fact United lost their Premier League title to Manchester City last season provided added incentive to get it back. "We had a big job to do," said Ferguson. "The way we lost it, and the fact it was City, gave us an incentive. You have to admire the focus we have shown this season. We are resilient and the consistency has been good. Like all the previous teams, they never give in. That is a fact."
Here we go folks, so it all boils down to this. Manchester United can claim a record 20th championship - their 13th Premier League title - but only if they beat relegation-threatened visitors Aston Villa tonight. Can they do it?
If you'd like to air your views before or during the match, email Raz...that's me! at email@example.com or Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish as many as I can.
