F/T: Chelsea 3 Steaua Bucuresti 1 (Agg: 3-2)

A sterling performance from the Blues sees them progress to the Europa League quarter-finals after a drama-packed second half at Stamford Bridge. Thanks for your company tonight and I'll see you all soon!

FULL TIME. Chelsea 3 Steaua Bucuresti 1. (Agg: 3-2).

A massive miss for Chelsea as Torres bursts down the byline, cuting the ball back for Benayoun who ends up sweeping the ball away from goal!

A late swap for Chelsea, as Benayoun relaces Hazard.

Three minutes of injury time is added on.

A Steaua free-kick comes in and as Cech collides with Luiz, the defender takes a bruising as he slowly recovers and eventually gets to his feet.

Moses arrives late on for Chelsea, with the magnificent Mata given a standing ovation upon his exit from the game.

Torres is played in short from a corner, and after steering away from Szukala, he sets up Mikel whose rifled shot is deflected for a corner.

Torres hits the bar! The game remains in the balance, and as Chelsea looked to continue their attack, a second ball is thrown on to the pitch. Great drama with five minutes to go!

Hazard's quick feet are too much for Borceanu, who makes the tackle, which sends him down, and Torres steps up....

Penalty to Chelsea!

Hazard is pushed over by Szukala, but again the referee chooses not to punish Steaua, as neat link-up play between Hazard and Mata is brought to an end.

Rapa heads off, with Rocha taking his place for Steaua.

Chelsea sit deep, and as Rusescu advances, he runs out of space as the home defenders swarm around him, before Latovlevici draws a fine save from Cech.

Luiz pickpockets Tatu, as Chelsea look to retain the ball for the time being and lessen the drama of the last 10 minutes.

Cole brings another Steaua player to the ground, but this time it's a free-kick as he hauls down Rapa.

Steaua make a change, with Tatu replacing Tanase.

A terrific turn of speed from Oscar leaves Rapa in his wake, but he was always at a tight angle and his shot flashes wide across the far post.

Torres returns to the fray without a name or number on his shirt, and as Rusescu concedes possession, the Chelsea striker ends up earning his side a corner.

Replays show that contact was mininal between Torres and Szukala, but the Spaniard remains unhappy as he is shown to have picked up that injury in a kick from Chiriches.

Torres has a busted nose somehow, and due to that injury, he receives treatment on the sidelines.

Incredile scenes now as Torres looked to have been hauled down in the box under Szukala with no penalty given. Seemed quite an odd decision at first glance.

It's a brilliant goal for Chelsea, with Hazard's dummy allowing Mata's ball in to find Torres, who precisely drives the ball into the back of the net. The Blues are going through as things stand!

Mikel tangles with Pintilli, and the Chelsea man is booked for bringing his Steaua counterpart down.

Chipciu finds Rusescu sweetly in behind Terry, but Cole covers to make a sensational, timely challenge with sees the ball cleared to safety.

Borceanu looks for Popa on the other side of the pitch, but it's a poor ball, and Popa's misery is compounded as the Chelsea fans boo him for holding up play previously.

Cole makes a precise challenge on Popa, but play is brought to a halt as the Steaua man clutches his face after falling awkwardly.

From the free-kick, the unorthadox Luiz launches a tricky shot towards goal, but fortunately for Tatarusanu, it lands staight into his arms.

Hazard takes a tumble as Pintilli hurls him down, with the referee choosing not to bring his yellow card out on this occasion.

Mata's lovely flick into Oscar is knocked on for Torres, but Szukala gets there first, as the striker is then penalised for a soft foul on Rapa.

Nervy scenes in the Chelsea defence once more, as Chipciu fires from the edge of the box with Cech making a good stop from an awkward position.

Mikel is flagged offside from Hazard's ferocious effort, which ends up going wide in the process as the visitors earn a respite.

Chelsea have the momentum now as they earn a corner, with Luiz going down off the ball which sees both he and Pintilli earn a warning from the referee.

It's a superb delivery from Hazard, and as Terry skips past Szukala, his bullet header leaves Tatarusanu no chances as Chelsea pull the score back to 2-2!

A careless challenge from Rapa not only sees the defender pick up a booking, but as Hazard is felled, Chelsea have a free-kick 20 yards from goal.

Popa switches flanks and looks for Rusescu, but under heavy guard from Terry, the ball is allowed to run out of play.

Oscar persists to keep the ball alive near the byline, but being marshalled well by Latovlevici, all he can do is drive the bal for a Steaua goal-kick.

A vigorous challenge from Luiz sees Rusescu clattered to the ground, with the centre-back a tad lucky to avoid conceding a free-kick in a dangerous position.

Azpilicueta tries his luck up the other end, but his wild delivery from the right sails straight out of play as Torres is left frustrated.

A rather sad Frank writes: "I regret I'm not in a place to watch the game live so of course I tuned into Sky. Have to say that I am glad I'm not watching. Torres has been mentioned only twice, once having missed an intercepted pass and once blazing well wide. We are not only down an away goal, we are only playing with 10 men. We should hold a raffle for all under 26 years old non-smokers, non-drunks to win a starting role as lead striker in Torres' place. If they run around shouting bad names at defenders it will be an experiment well played - at least they'll be doing something and can stay out of the way of our midfield trio who work tirelessly, only to see their efforts wasted. Until that happens I am going to do something less painful, like slamming my private parts in a car door repeatedly."

Rusescu takes on Azpilicueta, but the right-back does exceptionally well for Chelsea to stop his adversary breaching past him.

Yellow card for Borceanu after a cynical challenge on the advancing Mata.

Popa crosses a menacing ball into the box, with Terry on hand to reliably hack away at the near post, conceding a corner.

Torres gets his head to Terry's long ball, but ends up clearing the danger for Steaua who retrieve posession through Popa.

Chelsea get the action restarted.

A shocking goal right before half-time sees Steaua take an away lead, after a half more or less dominated by the Blues. The tie is poised nicely for a potentially blistering second half. Send your e-mails to jack.woodfield@bskyb.com or tweet @JWoodfield365

HALF TIME. Chelsea 1 Steaua Bucuresti 1.

It's a shambolic goal for Chelsea to concede, with a scramble on the goal-line resulting in Chiriches poking home from close range to give the visitors a vital lead on away goals!

Terry gets the ball to safety, before Cole is again on hand once again to deflect Popa's delivery behind for another corner.

Chipciu advances as the host enter Chelsea's half, before Ropa surges away from Cole, with a last-ditch tackle from the left-back conceding a corner.

Hazard knocks the ball on past Rapa for Oscar, but the right-back does well to slide in and concede a throw-in.

Genius play from Hazard, combined with a stunning one-two with Oscar, results in a shot superbly save from Tatarusanu, as Chelsea start to turn the screws in the final third.

Possession play from the hosts ensures a miserable few minutes for Steaua, who seem to have lost some confidence from that Chelsea goal.

Wonderful again from Mata, who creates the space to slip in Torres, with the striker blasting away from the near post.

The visitors deal with the corner, forcing the ball upfield as Cole ensures that Rusescu is not presented with an opportunity on the break.

Ramires' energy forces another corner for the hosts, after a sliding challenge from Chiriches, which sees Hazard and Szukala warned for pushing.

Oscar's corner connects with the head of Luiz, but his effort lands in Tatarusanu's arms as Chelsea are denied a second in three minutes.

It's lovely from Mata, who initially drives forward, playing a one-two with Ramires, which slips past Szukala, before the Spaniard's shot comes off Tatarusanu and dribbles into the net. Chelsea are back on level terms!

Ramires concedes possession to Lusescu, but a lack of options forces him away from any of his team-mates and Azpilicueta makes the intercepting tackle.

Hazard looks for Torres with a reverse pass, which is intercepted by Szukala, but the hosts resume their urgency as they continue to press for the opening goal.

Luiz expertly chages into Popa, prevening his progress down the right, as Chelsea win back possesson through the enigmatic defender.

Mata leans into Szukala looking to hunt down Mata's ball forward, but his over-enthusiastic nudging sees the forward penalised.

Rusescu looks to keep the visitors' move alive, but after playing back to Popa the ball is launched forward with the end result a Chelsea goal-kick.

Azpilicueta takes an arm in the eye, and the Spanish defender goes down in some distress as the game comes to a temporary halt.

Popa loops the ball into the penalty box, but Terry beats Rusescu in the air, with the visitors remaining in possession from the clearance.

Relentless Chelsea pressure sees Mikel let rip from Mata's pull back, with Tatarusanu making a good stop, before a second effort from the midfielder finds the fans behind goal.

Tanase and Luiz tangle attempting to reach the ball, with a Chelsea goal-kick the decision in the end after sterling work from the Chelsea centre-back.

The corner initially comes to nothing, but Tanase coolly controls the ball on the edge of the box before firing at the near post, which sees Cech make a smart save.

Some pushing and shoving occurs in the Chelsea box, and the Blues' defence must be on alert once again as the visitors earn a corner.

Popa aims towards the far post for Rusescu, but his team-mate is too far away to connect and it ends up a Chelsea goal-kick.

Borceanu looks to cap off a pulsating run through the centre with a goal, but his curling effort travels away from the target. A solid attempt from 30 yards though.

A blatant push from Latovlevici on Mata is penalised, and Chelsea have a free-kick roughly 30 yards, which is taken quickly by Mata, and fired wide.

The ball crosses the line as Luiz hacks away under pressure from Tanase, with the visitors giving a solid account of themselves early on at Stamford Bridge.

Bourceanu keeps the ball alive from the corner, but pressure from Chelsea's midfield sees Steaua pushed back and the hosts recover.

Luiz sprays the ball wide, but it is collected by Latovlevici, who sparks an impressive move, capped off by an error from Terry, as Rusescu draws a wonderful save from Cech.

Hazard, Ramires and Mikel all take aim, and all three efforts are charged down valiantly by the visitors' back line as the hosts start to press with urgency.

With neither team yet to really threaten in the final third, the visitors edge forward, but again, a lack of control from Pintilli sees the move come to an end.

Cole catches the advancing Popa, conceding a free-kick 35 yards from goal which is played short by Steaua.

A nice touch from Chipciu looks set get the visitors moving, but miscommunication with Rusescu sees Cech claim the ball once more.

Cech finds the ball played back to him by Terry, but his kick upfield lands with the visitors before another throw-in is won by Popa.

Luiz launches the ball forward for Torres, but Chiriches heads away calmly, with several poor touches ensuring the ball winds up rolling out for an away throw-in.

Ramires drives forward, finding Hazard on the overlap as Chelsea push up. Mata eventually crosses in, but it's too long for Torres and ends up ghosting out of play.

Steaua keep Chelsea penned back in the early exchanges, until a loose touch from Latovlevici gifts possession to the hosts.

Steaua get the second leg underway.

Bankim writes: "Fernando has to score in today's match if Chelsea wants to progress through the tournament. I expect top class performance from Hazard, Moses and David Luiz."

A confident Toby Day predicts: "Chelsea to win with a 3-0 (3-1) win! The Blues only lost last week because they had to travel a long way."

Our friends at Sky Bet make Chelsea hefty favourites to amend for their woeful display in Bucharest, with their odds at 2/7. The draw can be backed at 4/1, while an away win is available at 10/1.

Captain John Terry and striker Fernando Torres return as two of four changes as Chelsea look to overcome a 1-0 deficit. Last season's Champions League winners also include John Obi Mikel and Eden Hazard from the start, with Frank Lampard named among the replacements, in the alterations to the side which began the 2-2 FA Cup draw at Manchester United. Steaua name the same starting XI which began last week's win over the Blues in the Romanian capital after left-back Iasmin Latovlevici shrugged off a knee problem to start.

Tonight's referee is the one and only Stephane Lannoy (France).
