All over! What a win for Newcastle, a touch unlucky for Fulham, but it was a brilliant goal from Papiss Cisse that secured a vital three points. Thanks for looking in!
Newcastle run down the clock at the corner in expert fashion.
Alan Pardew was buried by ecstatic fans, as was Cisse. Breathless stuff!
Cabaye's shot was brilliantly controlled by the striker, who turned and rifled the ball in from 10 yards!
Berbatov is back in defence to help out as Newcastle press.
Vital challnge by Riether stops another Ameobi rampage.
High challenge from Sissoko on Karagounis allows Fulham to ease the pressure at a free kick. Five minutes being added on.
Marveaux's floated free kick is headed away by Hangeland.
Riise upends Marveaux and goes into the book.
Cisse gets to Anita's cross, and his header is pushed around the post by Schwarzer.
Fulham snuff the chance out at the corner, then Rodallega knows he is offside at the break.

Schwarzer gets booed for taking his time at a goal kick.
Cabaye wastes an opportunity, chipping the ball harmlessly wide from outside the area.
Riise shoots wide across the box, but Berbatov was a great option for a pass, and the striker goes mad at his left-back for not looking up and seeing him.
Rodallega gets the ball back to goal inside the area from a Ruiz chip, but cannot control the ball and Taylor clears.
Simpson replaced by Adam Campbell for Newcastle..
Manolev is replaced by Hugo Rodallega.
Simpson's cross from the right finds Ameobi, but his downwards header is off target and bounces a yard wide.
Much livlier from Newcastle now, especially Ameobi, but a long pass is just too heavy towards the sub.
Fulham's attacks have not been as potent in the second half, they look to have run out of steam.
Berbatov loses it to Cabaye, who dances away to set up Sissoko - who then loses it near the Fulham area.
Joel Robertson: "Can see 'Castle having a real scrap for survival if 3 points isn't extracted from Fulham today as well as next weekend"
Fine tackle by Guterriez in the area robs Manolev.
Frimpong challenges Ameobi in the area, the crowd call for a penalty but there's nothing from Kevin Friend. Seconds later Ameobi hits the ball straight at Schwarzer.
Ameobi is a nuisance to Schwarzer within seconds but the flag is up for offside.
Gouffran, who has been very good, is replaced by Shola Ameobi to warm applause from the Newcastle fans.
Riise then shoots from 25 yards or so out, and the ball fades off wide of the post.
Riise floats it in, and Krul makes a brilliant one-handed save to tip Berbatov's header over the bar.
Very unlucky for Newcastle, and its getting tetchy now as Newcastle concede a free kick in Riise territory.
Gouffran's header bounced up and hit Riether on the line by the post - unclear whether it hit his hand - possibly high up his right arm, Newcastle players did not claim the penalty, as Cisse hit the post a second later.
Gouffran and then Cisse hit the post with a split-second of each other! Both were bundled chances, and Fulham just about hang on.
Riise concedes a corner although the home fans feel he fouled Marveaux.
Yanga-Mbiwa clears at a free kick. The signs are that the game is opening up.
Taylor whips in a shot to the near post from outside the area, and Schwarzer just about stops it, although it looked to have rolled out for a corner that was not given. Another good chance for the hosts.
Frimpong, sporting a natty mohican, is late on Sissoko and concedes a free kick.
Fulham make a rare attack, and Taylor drops to the floor to head the ball back to Krul under pressure - very cool.
Gouffran rolls the ball across the box, but Cisse cannot control it and Schwarzer flops on it to snuff out a great chance.
Senderos, on a yellow, goes through Cisse from the back but gets away with it, although Kevin Friend gives him a quick word of warning.
Newcastle looking confident since the break, I wonder what was said at half time?
Cisse tips a cross-shot is tipped over the bar, then Taylor nods the corner just a yard wide.
Anita's deflected shot from 25 yards wrong-foots Schwarzer - but hits the top of the bar! Very close for Newcastle, and unlucky.
Anita mis-hits a shot, but Gouffran is offside when trying to latch on to it inside the area.
Enoh cannot take any more pain and hobbles off for the last time today, Emmanuel Frimpong replaces him.
Senderos gets booked for a poor challenge on Sissoko.
Enoh hobbles off, and Riise's free kick is knocked away after Hangeland heads it downwards in the area. Enoh then comes back on.
Sissoko clatters Enoh and concedes a free kick. The Cameroon loan player is being treated, and Sissoko gets a yellow card for a mistimed challenge.
We're under way again.
James Wallbridge: "Fulham look dangerous on the attack, but I have faith that Pardew will give the inspiring team talk that will motivate Newcastle to really attack Fulham and put them under pressure, and hopefully get the crowd going. 1-0 to Newcastle Sissoko with outside the box strike!"
Let me know what you think of the game so far @TimOscroft, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Newcastle fans can thank keeper Tim Krul for keeping the score at 0-0 at the break, the Dutchman made a superb save to block Manolev at a corner not long before the break. Papiss Cisse had a couple of chances, but should have squared the ball to Marveaux rather than go for goal himself.
Very quiet inside the stadium at t he moment as Fulham knock the ball around.
Fulham keeping the ball with ease, Newcastle can hardly get a look in at the moment.
Gutierrez has to jump in to clear from Berbatov on the edge of Newcastle's area.
Berbatov steals the show when on the ball, slowing the game down with some lovely skill to keep possession.
Its all a bit nervy for Newcastle fans, their side are not threatening enough and have been put under pressure at the back.
Somehow Newcastle keep the ball out at the corner, Krul makes an instinctive save to block Manolev from point blank range.
Fulham win it back, Berbatov finds Ruiz with a finer pass into the area, but Yanga-Mbiwa makes a superb block on Ruiz's low to concede a corner.
Senderos concedes a throw in when the ball slides off his head to the side rather than forward.
Ruiz and Duff are inches away from linking up inside the Newcastle area, and once again Fulham look a threat when they do get into the home half.
This time Gouffran is flagged offside when latching onto the ball near the penalty spot. Replays suggest that the ball came off Hangeland.
Gouffran volleys the ball on target - but Cabaye gets in the way of his team mate's shot!
Cisse takes the selfish option, shooting over inside the area but if he had passed the ball back across to Marveaux there was a goal there for the taking.
Cisse sees an on-target shot blocked by Hangeland, then he gives Senderos a slight touch and the Fulham defender wins a free kick - which Cisse is not too happy aboput. Referee Friend speaks to both players to calm things down.
Taylor tries to get to a Marveaux free kick floated into the area, but it's too high and Fulham clear.
Cisse protests when blocked by Senderos on the edge of the area, but referee Kevin Friend is not interested.
Cisse bends the ball just around the post from a yard outside the box, Schwarzer watches it go.
Plenty of possession for the hosts in midfield, but no end product, with Anita's cross rebounding off Karagounis.
Duff's corner is easily dealt with, but Fulham look very confident in their rare attacks.
Yanga-Mbiwa gets a touch to a cross to concede a corner with Berbatov lurking just behind him in the area.
Ruiz tries to blast his way through the Newcastle defence after nice work from Berbatov and a patient build-up, but the home back four clear.
Cabaye takes aim from 25 yards out, but his shot skews off to the right of the goal by several yards.
Marveaux's corner is safely headed away by the ever-reliable Hangeland.
Sissoko shoots with his left from 20 yards out, but pulls the ball wide of the post.
Gutierrez shifts to left-back following the introduction of Anita. A long ball to Cisse is just too far ahead of the striker.
Vurnon Anita replaces Santon, and Newcastle's injury worries mount up.
Santon collapses and looks to have tweaked his hamstring, he pulled up sharply. Cisse fires over at the other end, but Santon's day is over and he is helped off.
Berbatov lurks in the area but Taylor clears under pressure.
Gouffran hassles Hangeland by the bye-line but Fulham win the ball back to clear.
Fairly even so far, with Fulham having the best chance through Berbatov but Newcastle having more of the ball.
Cisse fould Karagounis right in front of Alan Pardew, who is not impressed with the Fulham players theatrics. Made of tough stuff as a player was the Newcastle boss...
Hangeland nods away a Marveaux corner, then Steven Taylor puts his header over the bar when Newcastle win it back.
Troy McClure - you may remember him from such TV series as The Simpsons - says: "A win today would be good to push us closer to Swansea. We have a good record against Newcastle"
Boos for Damien Duff turn to cheers as he gets a clattering that leads to a Fulham free kick.
Martin Fry - the singer from ABC? - says: "As a Fulham fan I feel a good away performance is needed as much as the result today. Berbatov is going to cause the centre backs problems I feel and think 2-1 Fulham will be the outcome.
Davide Santon goes close to connecting to a Simpson cross, but he mistimes his prod and can't get to the ball in the area.
Marveaux, Gouffran and Simpson all involved in a patient build-up until Fulham manage to clear for a throw in.
Berbatov drifts into space, shoots with the outside of his right from the edge of the D, and the ball goes inches over. Great skill from the Bulgarian enigma.
Cabaye clatters Enoh as he tries to dance past in the centre circle. The Fulham loan player eventually gets back up - welcome to the Premier League!
Karagounis tries to find Riether but passes the ball out for a throw in.
Cisse watches as the ball goes through to Schwarzer, who pumps the ball out of play near halfway.
And we're off!
Messrs Pardew and Jol have a friendly word by the tunnel, and we're all set.
The teams are out to the strains of the aforementioned Mr Knopfler's stirring, saxophone-heavy instrumental.
The royalties will keep coming for Mark Knopfler - Dire Straits' "Walk of life" is on now, and you can bet that "Going home (Theme from Local Hero)" will be getting an airing very soon.
Nik via Twitter: "It is vital that Newcastle win today as the teams below them keep winning, which is worrying for us" Any Fulham fans out there? Get in touch @TImOscroft, or by emailing email@example.com.
Josh Tindell via Twitter: "Newcastle to completely dominate and to get the vital 3 points. No doubts at all. I have belief in NUFC to do good"
Given the years without silverware, many Newcastle fans would love to see their side win the Europa League - but Premier League survival is also jostling for top spot in the Toon agenda. Can they achieve both?
James Wallbridge: "I'm a Toon fan, and its very interesting to see, and also imaginative and brave of Pardew going 442. Although I'm confident as long as we don't play hoofball! I'm going 2-1 to La Toon with Cisse and Sissoko scoring! COME ON THE TOON!"
Fulham are never the best of travellers, but they are on a decent run at the moment, having not lost in five games. A top half finish could be on the cards if they get something from today.
Iain Kemble: "Newcastle to win thanks to home advantage, 2-1 with Sissoko getting both. Fulham's goal will come from Berbatov." Let me know your thoughts, theories, predictions or rants on Twitter @TimOscroft, or on email firstname.lastname@example.org. And let me know where you are tuning in from!
Our friends at Sky Bet tell us that Newcastle are 5/6 to win today, Fulham are 100/30, and the draw is 5/2. If you fancy these prices, pop over to www.skybet.com and take a look at some of the other odds on offer.
Alex Dawson: "Hoping for a 3-1 Newcastle victory today to help with my Sky accumulator & to help see Newcastle remain in Premier League next year, great squad & what an addition Sissoko has been, another goal for him today!"
Shane Jones from Newcastle: "Big big week for Newcastle this week. I think this week can determine our season end. Win today and again next Sunday against Sunderland and we should be safe! Also a nice 2-0 win against Benfica on Thursday would see us into semi's of Europa League. The problem for us is we have lots of injured and half injured players and no real firepower to get us the goals. I'm hoping for a 2-0 win with Berbatov having a bad day and Cisse having a good one to set us up nicely for three wins in a row. Howay the lads!"
"Who is Eyong Enoh?" I hear you cry? He's a 27-year-old Cameroon international, brought in on loan until the end of the season from Ajax on deadline day in January.
Lindisfarne's "Meet me on the corner" has already been blasted out over the PA - lovely stuff! Although I always preferred "Run for home"...
Will there be any kind of Eurohangover for the Magpies? They collapsed alarmingly in the second half in Lisbon, but they have won their last two league games following trips to the continent. That said, their defeat to Fulham in December came on the back of a loss away to Bordeaux.
Rebecca Eyres gets in touch to say: "My 7 year old is off to the match, a huge Toon fan, particularly of Santon's and has had his hair cut like him. He predicts a 2-1 win to the Toon. Hopefully he is right!"
There are two changes for Fulham from the side that bested QPR in the west London derby win last Monday. Steve Sidwell is suspended, and Ashkan Dejagah is injured, so Stanislav Manolev comes into midfield alongside Eyong Enoh - both making their first starts in the Premier League.
Newcastle make one change to the side that lost to Benfica on Thursday, with Yoan Gouffran, who was cup-tied for the game in Lisbon, replacing James Perch.
So, what do you make of those line-ups? Get in touch via Twitter @TimOscroft, or via email email@example.com.

Let me know where in the world you're tuning in from - any far-flung Fulham fans out there? Magpies that have flown the nest? Geordies in exile?
