The Lions lost defender Ross Docherty on 27 minutes for a late challenge on Ziggy Gordon.

Hamilton had been controlling the match even by that stage with early efforts from Ali Crawford and an acrobatic effort from Gary Fisher which was well saved by Darren Jamieson at full stretch.

The visitors had their best chance in the early stages of the second period though when a well worked free-kick involving Crawford and Jon McShane ended with Steve May shooting narrowly wide.

Livingston's best opportunity of the night arrived when Liam Fox had a shot blocked after good work from Anthony Andreu and Paul Watson.
