FT: Chelsea 1 Manchester City 2

Thanks for joining me today, I hope you enjoyed the game.

Chelsea came very close to forcing extra time but have paid the price for a poor first half which Man CIty dominated. City good value for their win though and will be feeling very confident that they can lift the FA Cup for the second time in three years when they face Wigan in the final.

It's all over and it is Man City who make the final after an excellent football game between two great teams.

Hazard goes for goal from outside the area, but it travels high and wide. Should be it now for City.

Torres is told to get to his feet as he falls on the edge of the City box. Just a minute of added time left.

City almost seal the win as they break forward with pace. It is a great run from Toure who goes all way before setting up Aguero but the striker doesn't approach it right and can't help touching it towards Cech, who was wide of his own goal.

Aguero holds the ball up brilliantly for City, but Chelsea eventually win the ball when a third defender comes in to challenge the skilful Argentine.

Torres is outraged that a penalty is not given claiming that he was held back by Kompany. Tough one to call.

Nasri is coming off to be replaced by Lescott as Mancini tries to bolster his defence for these last few minutes.

There's only five minutes to go but it is hard to see this game ending the way it is.

Milner loses his footing slightly as he collects the pass from Toure and Oscar seizes on that as he slides in to win the ball.

An outstanding lofted pass into the box from Mata is so close to finding Torres, but the Spaniard can't reach it before Pantilimon gratefully grasps.

Aguero lunges into Luiz after the two tussle for the ball, and the Argentine would surely have been sent off had the referee seen that.

City have a rare attack but Toure misses the target after a strong run, although he did seem to be tripped by Oscar as he was about to shoot. Nothing given.

Luiz goes close but his effort his slightly off target, although Pantilimon probably had it covered.

Luiz looks like he is readying himself to blast it at goal.

Kompany knew exactly what he was doing as he body-checked Mata. He is shown a yellow card and Chelsea have several players who will fancy this free-kick.

Chelsea having much more possession at the moment and City are having to keep men behind the ball.

Chelsea deep inside Man City's half again as they try to build another goalscoring attack.

We should be in store for an exciting last 15 or so minutes here at Wembley. Chelsea have really turned it on.

Man City make a change now, with Javi Garcia coming on for Tevez.

Pantilimon is the hero for City again now as he saves from Ba.

Chelsea come so close to getting another and levelling up. Hazard makes a good run and tries to play Mata through on goal. His pass takes a deflecting which allows Pantilimon a chance to come off his line and decisively take the ball from Mata's feet.

Torres had replaced Mikel just before the goal in an attacking Chelsea sub.

Demba Ba scores with what is becoming a trademark of his - an outstretched volley. He loses Nastasic to receive a long ball forward. His first touch sets him up for an awkward volley at goal, but he loves them and directs it into the right-hand corner.

GOAL - Ba gets Chelsea back into it!!!

Chelsea enjoying a good spell at the moment, but their latest effort on goal is a tame header from Ramires straight at Pantilimon. Encouraging approach play from the trailing side but City are defending well.

Hazard clears the bar with an effort from just outside the area.

Oscar is starting to get on the ball a bit more and shows good skill before his cross deflects into the path of Pantilimon.

Kompany powers a long-range drive at goal but it continues to rise past the crossbar.

Free-kick is headed clear and Man City are on the attack now.

Corner for Chelsea now. It's taken short for Bertrand to cross. He can't find a target in the box but Luiz wins a free-kick on the other side.

Hazard dallies on the edge of the box before chipping the ball in but Ramires is offside as he comes to receive it.

Bertrand does well under pressure to win a throw off the legs of Zabaleta deep in his own half.

City break forward again, but Tevez's pass is too far ahead of Aguero.

The Man City fans are in full voice at Wembley, cheering on every pass. It's not over yet though, not if Chelsea can score the next goal.

City waste a chance to go three up as Toure charges forwards with Tevez and Aguero in support against two Chelsea defenders, but his pass to Tevez slows it up and Mata eventually intercepts Tevez's attempt to find Aguero.

Mata crosses from the left but Nastasic is first to it ahead of Ba.

Barry and Nasri link up nicely on the edge of the Blues' box, and the latter plays in Milner with a nice little pass, but Luiz is having none of it and wins the ball.

Ramires tries to spectacularly pull one back for Chelsea, but his effort from distance is way off target.

It's a dream to start to the second period for Man City as they double their advantage. Barry crosses very well from the right and Aguero meets it at the far post with a looping header into the opposite corner.

GOAL - Aguero makes it 2-0!!!

Ramires is booked for a foul on Milner.

Man City heading in to the final at this moment, but as we saw in their tie with Man Utd, anything could happen in this second half.

Chelsea get the second half underway at Wembley.

Priceboosts include Eden Hazard to score next (14/1) and Man City to win 3-0 (12/1). Visit www.skybet.com to place your bets.

Chelsea are 8/1 to overturn the deficit in the second half, with Man City fancied to hold on or improve their lead (1/3). If you think the match is destined for extra time, you can get with that at 7/2, with either side to win the match in that period priced at 12/1.

Chris Foy blows for the end of the half. It's been a great game so far.

City break superbly from a Chelsea attacking free-kick. Milner shrugs off the challenge of Ramires and opts to shoot from the left side of the box. Cech can only parry straight to Kompany, who is simply the wrong person for the chance to fall to as he fires wide.

Yellow card is shown to Toure for a bad foul on Mikel.

City forward this time but Aguero can't get past Luiz inside the box, who stands strong.

Chelsea tease on the edge of the City box but Azplicueta's low cross is easily cleared by the defending side.

Oscar cuts inside to deliver a dangerous inswinging cross from the right, but nobody gets on the end of it and it drifts out for a goal kick.

Close to 2-0 as City come forward with numbers again but Cech eventually manages to hold on to the ball following a succession of efforts inside the box.

Chelsea's response comes from Mata, who side-foots a first time effort towards goal but it just curls away from the post.

A great 20-yard run from Toure opens up the Chelsea defence. He passes to Aguero who lays the ball on for Nasri to shoot. The Frenchman actually tries to pass it back but gets a lucky deflection to allow him to finish easily. First blood Man City!

GOAL - Nasri scores for City!!!

Real end-to-end stuff here, with both teams desperate to get that first goal.

Crucial challenge from Bertrand as stops Tevez's pass reaching Milner after a dangerous counter attack from Man City.

Pantilimon's goal kick goes straight out of play, allowing Chelsea a chance to come right back at City.

Chelsea have settled now and have had the better of the last ten minutes.

Clichy does well to stop Oscar beating him on the right byline and earns a goal kick as a bonus.

Ivanovic searches out Ba, but Kompany jumps well to head clear.

Chelsea have really come into it now and have a throw in on the right wing to try and create an opening.

Ba peels away from Nastasic but can't quite reach the ball with his outstretched leg. City almost caught out there.

Lively game so far, a goal would really set it on fire.

Barry is booked for a reckless challenge on Ramires, who is hurt.

Chelsea do threaten and Kompany is forced to make a headed clearance off the line.

A needless push from Kompany on Ba allows Chelsea a chance to threaten the City goal for a change.

Really impressive football from Man City with Tevez at the heart of it. He links up with both Zabaleta and Aguero before going for goal but his effort is blocked.

Aguero beats the offside trap too easily to run through on goal but Ivanovic chases back well to block his shot.

Nastasic looks to try and loft the ball into the box but hits it is a bit heavy and Cech collects.

Calm from the City defence as they pass their way out of trouble despite strong pressing from Chelsea.

Lovely skill from Oscar as he nutmegs Zabaleta, but the Argentine clatters into him and gets away with no booking.

Chelsea having their first spell of sustained possession but it comes to an end when Mikel gives it away cheaply.

City controlling possession well again, but Milner's cross from the right is far too powerful after a nice run and pass by Nasri.

Aguero turns on the edge of the box, but Luiz reads it well to intercept.

Man City enjoying a good spell of possession inside Chelsea's half - they've started really brightly.

Cech called in to action again, this time stopping Tevez's effort from sneaking in at his near post. Lovely football from the City attacking line then.

@EdAspen tweets: "Massive stop from Cech - could be a game-changer even at this early stage"

City come forward again but Nasri gives away possession.

The tempo has been rapid at the beginning of this match. Play has been end-to-end although City have created more.

Cech is forced to make a very good save from a deflected shot from the City corner.

Clichy makes an excellent run forward from his own half and the resulting play sees City win a corner.

Toure sets up Aguero after a strong run but the Argentine hits the side-netting from a tough angle. A pass would have been a better option there with plenty of City players forward.

Good defending from both Bertrand and Kompany for their respective teams to see the ball to safety.

Luiz misses the ball completely as he tries to clear but Bertrand is there to do it properly for him.

Man City kick us off for what should be a great semi-final.

Chris Foy is our referee for this clash as are about to get underway.

@EdAspen tweets: "Mata masterclass imminent"

@Liamfromcorby82 tweets: "I have put 2 bets on, 2-0 or 2-1 to man city and aguero scoring first, if i had to pick it would be 2-0 to City"

Daniel writes: "I think that we'll win this one 2-1 with goals from Lamps and Hazard, Aguero to score for City. It's going to be a good game hopefully end to end"

Toby writes: "Hi, supporting CHELSEA as always! My prediction is 2-0!!! I hope CHELSEA will do well with out a doubt. COME ON BLUES!!!"

A trip down memory lane now as Horace writes: "On 19th November 1960, our father took me and my twin brother Hector to our very first football match at Stamford Bridge. The two eight year old Horlicks's witnessed the spectacle of a 6-3 victory for Chelsea. A young seventeen year old striker called Jimmy Greaves scored a hat-trick for Chelsea that day.. Today 53 years later, the two teams meet again in an F.A Cup Semi-Final. It's a funny old game isn't it? I think the result will be the same, but divisable by three. So Horace (incidentally a Fulham supporter) predicts the final semi-final outcome, will be CHELSEA 2 MANCHESTER CITY 1"

@OJRenn writes: "Not having the steadying influence of JT in defence or Lamps in midfield will hurt us. A pox on RB and his incessant tinkering!"

Aaron writes: "A nice 2-0 win for chelsea today mata & ba both on the scoresheet"

Chelsea subs: Turnbull, Lampard, Torres, Moses, Terry, Benayoun, Ake.

Man City subs: Hart, (K)Toure, Lescott, Kolarov, Garcia, Sinclair, Dzeko.

Dileep writes: "Chelsea are looking for another FA Cup triumph but Manchester City are looking for their second in three years. My prediction is 1-2 to Man City as they have Sergio Aguero who is in good form and I believe he will score, not checked the team line ups yet though. Good luck to both sides!"

‏@ChelseaFCNewz tweets: "I reckon Chelsea are going to Thrash City... We have a great record at Wembley! COME ON YOU BLUES #CFC"

Not since Everton in 1966 has a team reached the final without being breached, but City are 3/1 to end that trend by winning to nil in 90 minutes, while a 2-0 win for Roberto Mancini's men is an 11/1 price boost. Chelsea are no strangers to the new Wembley, though, and have won on each of their seven visits here, with interim boss Rafa Benitez eager to take a step closer to winning the cup he claimed in his second season at Liverpool.

Despite winning the competition four times in the last six years, Chelsea are underdogs, with 2011 winners City the tournament favourites. The Blues' recent record against City fails to convince, as they've won just twice in the last nine meetings between the sides, losing on six occasions, while City, remarkably, are yet to concede a goal in this season's competition.

Chelsea starting line-up: Cech, Azplicueta, Ivanovic, Luiz, Bertrand, Mikel, Ramires, Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Ba

Man City starting line-up: Pantilimon, Zabaleta, Kompany, Nastasic, Clichy, Barry, Toure, Milner, Aguero, Nasri, Tevez

Chris Green writes: "This match is going to be a cracker and I'm really looking forward to it. As a Manchester United fan, I really hope Chelsea can beat our noisy neighbours, but easier said than done!! It's going to be a tight encounter as both teams have weaknesses at the back, so I think there'll be plenty of goals this afternoon. My prediction: Chelsea 3-2 Man City"

Alex writes: "This one will be played till the final whistle. Both sides will have good chances and we won't see a goal until the second half but I reckon Man City will win 1-0 and go on to face Wigan in the final."

Another Chelsea fan, Julian, writes: "An English FA Cup semi-final without JT and Lamps in the starting XI! I fear for our chances."

@leo_casey tweets: "2-1 chelsea , mata firstgoal hopefully #fingerscrossed"

Guy, a Chelsea fan, writes: "We will have to be at our best today against city.we need to keep tevez quiet as he usually does well against us."

Calling Carlo For Liverpool... Please

One Liverpool Mailer wants a manager who isn't starstruck by the job. Plus why Milner has now become overrated, play-offs for the title, Ronaldinho and democracy..

Probably. But presumably he would not swap one bench for another. We have mails on over-hyped players, Arsenal enthusiasm, UEFA, FIFA and naked dudes...
