The striker serves the second game of a two-match suspension and joins long-term injury victims Darren McGregor, David Barron and Thomas Reilly in the stands.

A point will guarantee St Mirren's safety, while only a win will keep alive Dundee's slim hopes of survival.

John Brown's visitors will have to achieve it without goalkeeper Rab Dougles, who is still out with a thigh injury.

Full-back Gary Irvine returns from suspension, but long-term absentees Stephen O'Donnell (knee) and Jamie McCluskey (Achilles) remain out.
