Akwasi Asante and James Tavernier hope to be available for the Shrews' this weekend.

On-loan Birmingham striker Asante has not yet featured this season due to a hamstring injury while Newcastle's on-loan defender Tavernier missed last weekend's 3-0 defeat at Leyton Orient with an ankle problem.

Graham Burke returns to the Greenhous Meadow on Friday morning having been an unused substitute for the Republic of Ireland's Under-21 side in their midweek 4-1 victory in the Faroe Islands.

Striker John Marsden (foot) and centre-back Dave Winfield (hamstring) have both been ruled out for between six to eight weeks.

The Robins will be without on-loan midfielder Ryan Mason when they make the trip to the West Midlands.

The Tottenham man suffered a grade one hamstring tear in the Capital One Cup win over Torquay, ruling him out of the clash with the Shrews.

Mason missed the 1-0 victory over Stevenage last weekend along with Alex Pritchard, who was suffering from a dead leg. But caretaker manager Mark Cooper expects Pritchard to be available.

Miles Storey looks set to get another chance to impress after making his full home debut as Cooper continues his search for a new forward.
