New signing Zavon Hines is set to make his debut as Dagenham play host to Newport.

The former West Ham forward signed a one-year deal with the Daggers on Thursday and goes straight into contention to face a County side who have won two of their opening three fixtures back in the Football League.

Fit-again pair Matt Saunders and Luke Wilkinson both featured in a midweek friendly and will look to make the bench at Victoria Road.

Boss Wayne Burnett has no new injury or suspension concerns as the Daggers aim to make it three matches unbeaten.

Newport will be without midfielder Max Porter at Dagenham, a loss described by his manager as 'a bitter blow'.

Porter has been to see a specialist as he remained in discomfort after his long-standing groin injury and the verdict is that he will now need blood injections and rest, much to the disappointment of his boss Justin Edinburgh.

Defender Ismail Yakubu (calf) will also miss Saturday's trip with a calf injury as will last season's top scorer Aaron O'Connor (groin) but Michael Flynn (hamstring) and Tony James (hamstring) are fit for selection.

Goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley looks set to retain his place in the Exiles' starting line-up after returning to action against Bristol Rovers last weekend.
