FT: Newcastle 1 Fulham 0

All over and Newcastle take the win thanks to Hatem Ben Arfa, but it was a poor match for much of the 90-minutes. But Newcastle get their first win of the season.

Newcastle look to break and Stockdale has to tip it round from Gouffran's effort. Stockdale then produces a great double save from Debuchy and Cisse.

Berbatov takes it down but puts the ball out of play with the outside of his foot and just about sums up Fulham's day.

Ben Arfa was booked for his celebrations.

GOAL - HATEM BEN ARFA - Great goal from the outstanding player on the pitch, he cuts back on his left foot to the edge of the box and fires into the corner.

Great chance for Taarabt, the ball falls for him on the edge of the box but he fires straight at Krul - could have been 1-0 Fulham.

Newcastle win another corner through Santon. Ben Arfa takes and finds Debuchy free 15-yards out but he heads wide - should have hit the target.

Bent is off and he is replaced by Adel Taarabt.

Cabaye is booked.

More good work from Ben Arfa, ball into the six-yard finds Gouffran but he glides it wide.

Newcastle turning up the pressure, Gouffran flashes the ball across goal, it comes to Ben Arfa, he cuts back and his shot is saved well at the near post by Stockdale.

Newcastle go close as Cisse hits the bar from Ben Arfa cross with Stockdale beaten.

Newcastle win corner which Cabaye will take - Gouffran rises but Stockdale claims it at full stretch.

Remy on the ball straight away into the box and he crosses looking for Cisse, but Stockdale claims it.

Loic Remy comes on for his Newcastle debut replacing Marveaux.

Matthew Briggs replaces the injured Riether who can't carry on.

Play is stopped as Riether is down needing treatment.

Ruiz takes it and it is a good save from Krul, Bent fails to turn the ball back into the box and it is a goal-kick.

Cabaye's first touch is to give away free-kick on the edge, real danger for Newcastle here.

Yoann Gouffran and Yohan Cabaye - who is booed by some - come on the field with Ameobi and Anitia making way.

Good ball from Santon looking for Ameobi just six-yards out but Hangeland does well to deflect it wide. Corner comes in and it drops for Cisse on the edge, he goes for goal but Riise blocks - it is back for Mbiwa and his shot is wide off a Fulham body for another corner.

Ben Arfa cuts inside from the right, he goes for goal but again Stockdale claims it with relative ease.

Corner comes in but Newcastle manage to clear through Coloccini - better from Fulham.

Mbiwa barges into the back of Kacaniklic and gives away free-kick near corner flag. Newcastle clear at first but it comes back for Ruiz, he finds Bent and Mbiwa has to scramble the ball behind.

Newcastle counter on Fulham as Bent looked to break. Sissoko feeds Ben Arfa, he gets to the edge of the box but his shot is deflected over. Corner comes in again from Marveaux but Hughes clears.

Great run from Ben Arfa as he shrugs off Riise, he cuts it back but Hangeland does well to put it behind for a corner. Marveaux takes and it is straight out for a goal-kick.

Ben Arfa again with a cross into the box, he looks for Cisse but his control lets him down and Stockdale takes it.

Parker concedes a corner, Marveaux crosses low and that is blocked - Ben Arfa picks it up and delivers, but Hangeland clears.

Tim Krul is off his line quickly to take the ball ahead of Kacaniklic who looks to break.

Nice play from Newcastle, Santon gets it out wide and looks for the cross but Stockdale takes it.

Second half starts as first finishes, with a lack of quality but Newcastle enjoying possession.

Newcastle get the second-half underway. Neither side has made a change.

Scott Parker is first in the book for pulling back Marveaux.

Another wild effort from Newcastle, this time Ben Arfa from 35-yards if not more, but it is well over.

Marveaux, who has done well, feeds Debuchy on the corner of the box but he blazes it high and wide.

Debuchy puts a good ball into the box, Cisse meets it - but it is well wide.

Newcastle dominating possession here, but Fulham are defending deep and standing firm and seem happy to let the home side have the ball.

Good play from Newcastle as Debuchy feeds Ameobi, he plays in Ben Arfa - who charges into the box and is only stopped by a very good challenge from Riise. Hangeland rises to clear the corner.

Fulham pressing, and Newcastle penned back in their box - but they stand firm and Mbiwa clears as Parker and then Ruiz fail to find their way through.

Stockdale has to save at his near post as Cisse bustles his way into the box and gets his shot away, it is cleared away for another corner. Marveaux takes but Stockdale clears.

Good tackle from Debuchy stops Parker's run in the box, it comes back for Ruiz but his shot is well over the bar.

Good ball from Ben Arfa and Cisse is almost clear but he just can't take the ball in his stride.

Some danger for Fulham as Berbatov looks to play in strike-partner Bent but Mbiwa does well to win the challenge and clear.

Marveaux finds Ben Arfa on the right, he cuts back and looks for Cisse - but Hughes does well to head clear.

Fulham attempting to play some football with Ruiz and Berbatov dropping deep, but Martin Jol's side struggling to get their game going at the moment.

The first save of the match is an easy one as Debuchy goes for goal from 30-yards, he strikes it well but straight at Stockdale.

Long ball from Fulham looking for Berbatov and Bent, but Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa does well and carries it into the Fulham half, the ball comes for Santon - he shoots from the edge of the box but Hughes blocks and clears.

Marveaux looks to play the ball over the Fulham defence for Cisse, but David Stockdale is off his line well to claim it.

Good defending from Mathieu Debuchy as Kacaniklic looks to beat him, he looks to cross but it is deflected back off him and is a goal-kick to Newcastle.

Ben Arfa charges towards the box and Steve Sidwell is back to block of his run - no foul says referee Chris Foy. Home fans not happy.

Another Newcastle corner as Ben Arfa cross is deflected behind. Marveaux takes the set-piece but this time Berbatov is there to clear.

Sissoko does well down the left and he gets to the ball ahead of Hangeland, but instead of looking up he goes for goal and it is easily blocked.

Coloccini is now in action at the other end as he has to put the ball behind ahead of Bent who was waiting to get on the end of Sascha Riether's cross. Ruiz takes a short corner, but Fulham fail to make anything of it.

Fulham get down the left and Alex Kacaniklic plays in John Arne Riise down the side of the box, he gets a good cross in but nobody is there to meet it.

Nice ball over the top from Bryan Ruiz for Darren Bent to chase, he keeps it in and lays it back for Berbatov but his control for once lets him down.

Good work from Davide Santon on the left, he turns back and finds Sissoko - the Italian gets it back but his cross is poor and easily cleared.

Marveaux corner is met brilliantly Fabrcio Coloccini - but it is blocked on the line by his own man Cisse.

Good ball from Marveaux finds Shola Ameobi - he turns but Aaron Hughes does well and puts it behind for a corner.

Papiss Cisse does well to keep it in, he feeds Sylvain Marveaux off the left - he comes inside but Scott Parker does well and dispossesses him.

Newcastle look to push on early on but a loose ball from Moussa Sissoko sends it straight out.

Fulham get us underway kicking from left to right towards the Gallowgate end.

Both teams make their way onto the pitch and are lined up ready for the customary handshakes.

Teams are nearly out, subs are and the press pack are surrounding Cabaye and Remy.

Fresh from his consolation goal against Arsenal, Darren Bent is 13/2 to score first and 2/1 to net anytime. As for Newcastle, Hatem Ben Arfa is 5/2 to make it goals in three straight league appearances against Fulham, while the hosts are 11/4 not to score for the third Premier League game in a row.Click Here to bet.
