Midfielder Yohan Cabaye could return to the Newcastle squad for Saturday's Premier League clash with Fulham.

Manager Alan Pardew has told the 27-year-old he expects him to be available for the first time this season as the Magpies brace themselves for an improved bid from Arsenal.

Striker Loic Remy, the club's only senior signing to date this summer, could be involved from the bench after recovering from the calf problem he had when he signed from QPR, but midfielder Cheick Tiote (groin) will miss out as he joins Jonas Gutierrez (knee) and suspended defender Steven Taylor on the sidelines.

Goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is set to miss out with the shoulder injury he picked up in the 1-0 win over Sunderland on the opening day.

Fernando Amorebieta's debut remains on hold as the summer signing is still struggling with an injury whilst Kieran Richardson is still a long-term absentee with a hamstring problem.

John Arne Riise is set to continue at left-back while Alexander Kacaniklic could be included in the squad following making a return from injury during the midweek Capital One Cup win at Burton Albion.
