Both sides started brightly with Dagenham captain Abu Ogogo opening the scoring in the 10th minute.

A Zavon Hines free-kick from the left was only scuffed as far as Ogogo and the midfielder steered the ball into the back of the net from 12 yards for his third of the season.

Daggers goalkeeper Lewington pushed away a powerful Matt Harrold penalty in the 56th minute after Ogogo was adjudged to have handled in the box, before Luke Howell sealed the points in the 72nd minute, heading in a Hines left-wing corner.

Victory for the hosts was their second in the league at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Stadium, moving them up to 14th in the table, while defeat for Bristol Rovers means they remain winless on the road this season.
