FULL-TIME: It's all over as Southampton end Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 win at Anfield thanks to Dejan Lovren's second half header.

Alberto's flick runs through to Boruc and that should be that.

There will be three minutes of added time at the end of the 90 minutes.

Big chance for Sterling as he races clear on goal from Sturridge's clever pass, but his touch is too heavy and the ball runs through Boruc.

Poor play from Skrtel and it is results in a corner for Southampton as Toure is forced to put the ball behind.

Moses is caught offside as the home fans are becoming a little restless.

Mignolet is playing a dangerous game as Lallana almost robs him of the ball on the edge of the box and then the ball is given away to Clyne who feeds Lallana, but Mignolet makes up for his mistake to deny the Southampton captain with a fine save.

The ball drops to Rodriguez on the edge of the box from Lambert's knockdown, but his effort is easily saved by Mignolet.

RESTART: Liverpool get the second half underway as they look to score their first goal in the second half this season.

HALF-TIME: The referee brings the first half to a close and both sides go in at the interval 0-0. Liverpool will point to the fact they should have had a penalty in that first half when Sturridge appeared to be upended by Lovren, but Southampton have more than held their own in the opening period.

There will be one minute of added time at the end of the opening 45 minutes.

Gerrard fires over a cross from the right and Sturridge gets on the end of it, but his looping header lands on top of the netting.

Sturridge gets in down the right, but his cross is diverted behind by Lovren.

Toure goes on a powerful down the right, but Lovren is alert to stop him getting on the end of Sturridge's pass inside the box.

Superb play from Lallana to rob Gerrard of the ball and the Liverpool captain is then forced to bring down his Southampton counterpart.

No fluency from Liverpool in the first half and Southampton will be happy with how the opening 39 minutes have gone to date.

Great run from Moses into the box as he powers past Fonte and his shot is tipped behind for a corner by Boruc.

Sturridge finds some space on the edge of the box and lets fly with a left-footed effort which sails well over the crossbar.

Boruc is quickly off his line to gather a cross from Aspas aimed towards Moses.

Claims for a penalty from the home side as Sturridge appeared to be clipped by Lovren inside the box, but the referee ignores Liverpool's appeals.

Gerrard's free-kick into the box is too deep and falls into the arms of Boruc.

Brilliant tackle from Shaw to deny Moses getting clear onto Aspas's through ball. Alert defending from the covering left-back.

Good move from Southampton as Lambert picks out Clyne unmarked inside the box and his cross across the face of goal is cleared by Skrtel.

Aspas has been the more central forwards between him and Sturridge so far and it has not worked for the home side so far.

Another mix-up in the Liverpool defence sees the ball drop to Lambert inside the box, but he fails to get any purchase on his shot and it goes straight into the arms of Mignolet.

Liverpool been unable to get Sturridge in the game at all so far as they have struggled to create any chances in open play.

Southampton looking dangerous every time they go forward and Toure does well to block out Osvaldo.

From the resulting corner the ball is flicked on to the far post, but on the stretch Toure is unable to direct his header on target.

Great save from Boruc to deny Gerrard scoring from the free-kick as the keeper shows great reactions to keep out the curling effort.

A lot of Liverpool's attacking play appears to be coming down the left with Moses involved in the action.

Southampton looking quite comfortable in possession in the early stages of the game.

Moses stays down after a challenge from Clyne and it looks like the Liverpool winger will need some treatment. The referee, Neil Swarbrick, somehow did not see that tackle from Clyne as a foul.

Liverpool break from Southampton's free-kick and the ball drops to Lucas 25 yards from goal, but his shot lacks power and is easily saved by Boruc.

Southampton win a free-kick wide on the left as Moses brings down Clyne chance to flood the box.

First chance of the game for Liverpool as Sturridge tees up Henderson on the edge of the box and he curls his shot straight into the arms of Boruc. Decent opening for the home side.

Southampton trying to press Liverpool high up the pitch in the early stages and Lallana has the first effort of the game with a volley that flies well over the top after Mignolet came out for a cross which Skrtel cleared.

As expected it is Sakho who starts at left-back for Liverpool.
