FT: Chelsea 4 Cardiff 1

Chelsea 4 Cardiff 1. The final score slightly flatters the Blues, but they were the better side on the day. Back to the drawing board for the Bluebirds.

90+4
Mutch wide to the left and delivers into the heart of the box. Terry does well to get across Campbell and nod clear. He takes a knee to the stomach for his troubles.

90+3
Very ambitious from Luiz. He wins the ball in midfield and keeps on going. He takes aim from a long way out and fires high into the crowd. Can get away with that when you are 4-1 up.

90+2
Cardiff win a free-kick just over halfway. Taylor lofts forward. Cech is able to rise above the crowd and pluck the ball out of the air. He looks to spark a counter attack.

90+1
Torres hasn't seen too much of the ball since coming on. He is obviously still working on his fitness. More to come from him in the weeks to come.

90
Torres back to Ramires, who sends Ivanovic down the right. He decides against a lung-bursting break and instead goes backwards. Cardiff chasing shadows.

89
Azpilicueta slices a clearance out of play. Cardiff still looking to grab a second and give their supporters something to shout about.

88
Ramires happy to go sideways and play keep-ball. Both sides would probably settle for the final whistle now. Still a few minutes to play out.

87
Caterhine wins another corner. Positives for Cardiff to take out of this encounter as they have posed problems. From the latest counter, Whittingham can't pick out a team-mate.

86
Ramires looks for Oscar, who has acres of space on the left wing. The pass towards him has too much on it and slips out of play. Cardiff tiring and leaving themselves vulnerable at the back.

85
Throw to Cardiff inside the Chelsea half. Catherine pushing on to try and make something happen. Credit to the visitors for not allowing their heads to drop and throwing in the towel.

84
Whittingham with a much better delivery this time. Cech watches it all the way though and is able to get a strong hand to the ball. Chelsea then clear their lines.

83
Campbell takes the ball off Ramires and sets his sights on goal. He shoots from 25 yards out and sees an effort flick behind for a corner. Game gone, but a chance to snatch something.

82
GOAL CHELSEA - HAZARD. The home side running away with it now. Hazard able to drift inside off the left flank. He cuts past Caulker and drills under Marshall.

81
Cardiff make their final change, with Gunnarsson replaced by Gestede. Last throw of the dice by the Bluebirds.

80
Catherine has to scoop clear from on the dead-ball line. Cardiff pegged back. They have to take a few more chances, but are leaving holes at the back.

79
Willian sprung clear as Chelsea counter. Three on one for a moment, but the opportunity is wasted. Willian fires straight at Marshall.

78
Mourinho celebrating with the supporters in the stands. He is enjoying himself now. On the field, Lampard concedes a corner. Whittingham takes, but the ball is cleared.

77
GOAL CHELSEA - OSCAR. What a finish. Ramires touches the ball into Oscar, who works the ball onto his right foot 20 yards from goal. The ball fizzes past Marshall in an instant.

76
Mutch grimacing again. He has worked hard this afternoon. He is back-tracking again now with Chelsea flowing forward.

75
Cardiff have looked much brighter since the interval. If they had looked to have a go from the start, they might still be level. Mackay set up too defensive.

74
Whittingham tries an effort with his right foot, which is blocked. The ball is then worked down the channels to Kim. He fires across Cech, who touches around the post. Whittingham's corner is fired into the side-netting. Wasted.

73
Azpilicueta catches Cowie as he leaps over a challenge and the Cardiff man will require treatment. He is soon okay to continue. Handbags between Azpilicueta and Campbell.

73
Hazard charges out and finds Torres. He works the ball onto his left foot, but sees his final shot blocked by Caulker. Cardiff look to counter themselves, but Whittingham's cross only finds Cech.

72
Marshall goes short for Cardiff. Turner then goes long. He picks out Whittingham, who cuts back to Kim. His cross-shot hits Luiz and bounces out of the box.

71
Mourinho has been moved further back. He is now sat alongside the fans, who are delighted to have him with them. On the field, Cardiff can't free Kim down the middle.

70
Mourinho raging at something. He is giving Anthony Taylor a hard time. The referee comes across to have a word and the Chelsea boss is sent to the stands. He moves about three rows back from where he was.

69
Change made. Eto'o, having just opened his goal account is replaced by Azpilicueta. Mourinho looking to shut up shop.

68
Chelsea ready to bring on Azpilicueta, which will allow them to revert back to a defensive unit of four. Willian down at the moment and Ivanovic plays the ball out so he can receive treatment.

67
Campbell on in place of Odemwingie as Cardiff go chasing the game. They need to find something from somewhere.

66
GOAL CHELSEA - ETO'O. First goal in Chelsea colours for Eto'o. Hazard springs him into space. Quick feet allow him to get the ball into shooting range, and he drills low into the bottom corner.

66
Torres slow to react to a Ramires pass, but he does win a corner. Willian takes. His delivery is high into the middle, and Caulker loops a header behind for another. Lampard takes this time. Ivanovic gets two bites of the cherry at the front post, but does nothing with either.

65
Whittingham finds Cowie in acres of space on the edge of the box. He opts not to shoot and find Gunnarsson. His shot is blocked. Cowie should have gone himself. Chelsea rocking slightly. They now have three at the back. Hazard and Willian in wing-back roles!

64
Chelsea make their change, and it is Bertrand who makes way for Torres. Attacking change by Mourinho. The hosts need Torres to deliver something.

63
Torres will be with us shortly. He is stripped and ready. Eto'o, the man he is likely to replace, is flagged offside again. Cardiff work the ball well to Odemwingie. He tees up Mutch, who lashes high over the top from 25 yards out.

62
Cowie delivers from the right, Luiz nods clear in the middle. Cardiff starting to push forward a bit more. A good idea as they need to try and contain Chelsea. Kim involved again, but he can't beat three blue shirts.

61
Terrible effort from Kim. He is picked out in space and works a yard past Luiz. He then drags horribly across the face of goal from 20 yards out. Eto'o then flagged offside. Late call, and again one that shouldn't have had to be made as the Chelsea man was looking along the line.

60
Odemwingie chases the ball towards the corner flag. Whittingham offers support and forces the ball behind off Ivanovic. Corner played short to Odemwingie, but he fails to get a shot away. Chelsea can't counter.

59
Chelsea make their first change. Mata's race is run, with Oscar sent on in his place. Like for like swap in the creativity department. Can the Brazilian provide a spark?

58
Mutch lobs the ball forward, with Gunnarsson breaking from midfield. Terry there for Chelsea. The ball ends up heading all the way back to Marshall. Bit scrappy at the moment.

57
Chelsea looking to keep the ball and draw Cardiff out. Not working at the moment. No way through and Cowie can clear. Ramires then has his pocket picked on halfway.

56
Eto'o keeping a close eye on Marshall again as he clears out of hand. The ball squirms out of play and Cardiff make their change. Medel is replaced by Kim.

55
Willian wide to Ramires. He feeds a cross to the front post, which is dealt with by Turner - who had taken up a clever position. Chelsea keep on coming, with Eto'o's cross breaking away from Hazard. Movement on the Cardiff bench.

54
Marshall cautioned for time wasting. He has been doing it all afternoon. He can't afford to do it anymore as he will be off. Good news for Chelsea as they need to keep the game flowing.

53
Hazard wide on the left, and cutting inside. He finds Willian, and then Bertrand. His cross cannons into Cowie. He goes down winded. Play continues, with Mata sending an acrobatic volley wide at the back post.

52
The loose ball drops towards Medel, who lashes over the top on the half-volley. Chelsea haven't looked comfortable dealing with high balls today. They can counter, though, and Hazard sees a low cross almost find Willian. Cardiff just about do enough.

51
Luiz does concede a free-kick this time, for getting across Mutch and tripping him. He needs to keep calm. Taylor delivers towards the box and Ivanovic glances behind. Whittingham takes the corner, and Eto'o nods behind for another. Second effort is better and Cech can only palm in front of him.

50
Luiz gives the ball away and Mutch can race forward. Odemwingie is up with him, but Terry comes across to clear up the danger. Luiz off the hook as he was struggling to get back and stuck an arm out towards Mutch. He has already been booked.

49
Mutch doing his best to press from the front. He doesn't have a lot of support. Ten red shirts inside their own half. Mata and Ramires forced to go square with no room in midfield.

48
Stepovers from Willian allow him to find Eto'o on the edge of the box. He strikes the ball cleanly, but Marshall does well to gather down low after seeing the shot bounce in front of him.

47
Taylor pushing on from full-back, but Whittingham can't keep the ball in play. Chelsea unable to string passes together. Catherine forces them all the way back with a no-nonsense lump of a clearance.

46
Willian unable to find the feet of Hazard as he moves towards the area. Medel allowed plenty of space in midfield to guide Cardiff out.

Players are back out and Chelsea get the second half under way.

Igli says: "That Hazard goal has calmed the Bridge a little, I'm sure second half will get better for Chelsea. 3-1 Chelsea with an Ivanovic goal and hopefully Eto'o!"

Gill Power says: "They need Torres out there ... Eto'o isn't cutting it today ... Need Oscar on aswell Willian poor. I'm disappointed."

Remember you can also bet in-play at Skybet.com. Chelsea are now 4/9 to take the spoils, with Cardiff 10/1 and the draw 5/2. You can get 4/1 on Chelsea winning 3-1.

Chelsea 1 Cardiff 1. All square the interval. Two mistakes have led to the two goals. All still to play for.

45+2
Bertrand gets away with a loose first touch. Terry sprays a diagonal pass out to the right. Ivanovic lets the ball slip under his boot. Mourinho heading down the tunnel already.

45+1
Lampard goes for goal from a tight angle. He takes aim at the far corner, but curls narrowly wide. Marshall was rooted to the spot.

Two minutes of stoppage-time to be played.

45
Willian nods into the feet of Hazard. He has to wait for support. It arrives in the form of Mata. He turns back inside Cowie, who cuts him down with a sliding challenge. He goes into the book.

44
Bertrand takes a chance on the edge of his own box, but is good enough to beat two challenges and clear. Risky, but he got away with it. Chelsea move forward, with Hazard sending a tame effort from the edge of the box into the hands of Marshall. Not the cleanest of strikes.

43
Ramires long for Eto'o to chase, but Caulker is always winning the foot race. Cardiff can't get the ball to tick, though, up top. They are, however, able to force Chelsea back to the feet of Cech.

42
Hazard has Willian moving from right to left. He is able to drift acros the edge of the box and tee up Ramires. His first-time shot is blocked at source by Mutch. A hopeful ball towards Hazard then sails out for a throw.

41
Luiz with a body check on Mutch which earns him a yellow card. Taylor drills the free-kick long, and Caulker touches on. Whittingham gathers and drills into Luiz. Brave block.

40
Ivanovic runs Chelsea out from the back. Hazard skips away from Cowie, but can't beat Catherine. Caulker across to hammer the loose ball out. Chelsea then look right, but Ivanovic's cross towards the penalty spot is behind those in the middle.

39
Terry goes long, flag up against Willian. No excuse as he was looking right along the line. Marshall again takes his time getting play back under way. Chelsea supporters trying to hurry him along.

38
Marshall's clearance sails straight out of play. Cardiff doing themselves few favours. They do get back on the ball in midfield, but Medel sends a pass out for a throw. Taylor not impressed.

37
Ramires forces a pass into Hazard, but Gunnarsson tracks with him to clear. Luiz well inside the Cardiff half again as he gathers. Cardiff dropping so deep. Luiz invited to shoot from 25 yards out. He drills a left-footed effort over the top.

36
Mata into Hazard, who finds Ramires. Luiz racing forward from the back, and goes wide to Willian. He finds Eto'o breaking to the by-line, and his centre is knocked behind by Medel. Good movement by the Blues. Mata's corner is cleared.

35
Cardiff have to come out of their shell again. They have created very little and their goal was gifted to them. They can't afford to sit deep and invite pressure all afternoon.

34
Mackay not happy. You don't see players getting away with taking the ball off a goalkeeper very often. Quick thinking by Eto'o and he didn't touch Marshall. Too odd goals and we are all square.

33
GOAL CHELSEA - HAZARD. The Blues make hard work of it, but they are level. Eto'o nicks the ball off Marshall as he bounces it. Hazard gathers and squares. Eto'o can't bundle home, but the ball breaks loose again to Hazard who can. Controversial as Marshall had hold of the ball inside his own box.

32
Lampard long for Eto'o to chase. Marshall forced right to the edge of his box to gather. His feet look to be outside as he claims on the bounce. Tight call, and one he gets away with. Could have gone either way. Hazard tries again, but a one-two with Mata is cut out by Turner.

31
Lampard loses out to Odemwingie. Clever play by the Cardiff striker as he gets his body across the ball and draws a foul. Taylor drills long from the free-lick, but can't pick out the head of Caulker.

30
Mata sends over another set-piece. Not the best, as Medel clears at the near post. Hazard shows quick feet to get to the edge of the area, but can't lay the ball off to Mata. He goes down, but lost his balance more than anything else.

29
Terry striding forward. Hazard and Bertrand combine again, with the former bundled over by the corner flag by Catherine. Opportunity for Chelsea to load the box once more.

28
Nice touch from Whittingham draws Ramires into a clumsy challenge. Whittingham chips a free-kick towards Mutch. He can't win the first header, but lobs a second one towards the back post. Gunnarsson arrives on cue, but nods high over the crossbar from eight yards out.

27
Free-kick to Cardiff just inside the Chelsea half. Whittingham takes, but fails to get enough height on his delivery. Hazard looks to lead a counter. Bertrand offers support and sees a cross loop out for a throw off Whittingham. He then runs the ball out of play for a goal kick to Cardiff after trying to break into the box.

26
Ivanovic well forward again, but again he can't deliver. This time he sees an attempted cross sail behind. Mourinho stood hands on hips on the touchline.

25
Patient build-up again from Chelsea. Luiz allowed to stroll over halfway. Hazard with a heavy touch this time which sees a promising attack breakdown. A few groans ring out around the Bridge.

24
Nothing doing for Cardiff and Cech can clear his lines. Willian has Ivanovic breaking past him. His first time cross is mishit, but almost catches Marshall out as he has to back-track and claim on his goal-line.

23
Marshall fires long again. He can't find Odemwingie, but the ball drops to Cowie. He feeds the ball down the right wing and Terry has to chip into the stands. Gunnarsson then wins another throw in Chelsea territory.

22
Cowie tries again. He beats the first man this time, but Cech comes through the crowd in the middle to claim confidently. Chelsea spring clear on the counter. Medel gets back to nod a Mata cross behind for a corner to the hosts. End-to-end stuff. Mata's delivery is nodded wide by a stooping Terry.

21
Whittingham looks to whip the set-piece towards the far post. Odemwingie gets a touch as the ball passes his head and Cech has to make a sprawling stop - tipping the ball around the post. Cowie's corner is poor, but is put behind again by Eto'o.

20
Lampard could have gone for goal after turning into space. He didn't and Terry has now conceded a free-kick 30 yards from the Chelsea goal. He had a tug at Odemwingie's shirt.

19
Willian wide on the right. He looks to feed a low cross into the box, but Taylor blocks his path. Catherine then plays a clearance off Ramires and into the path of Lampard. He spins and cross, but Catherine is there again for Cardiff.

18
Marshall takes his time clearing his lines. Understandable as the ball is soon coming back his way. Hazard and Bertrand combine to find Lampard. He is unable to work a yard of space 30 yards from goal. Cardiff still working hard as a unit.

17
Luiz spreads play to Bertrand on the left. He finds Lampard, who in turn looks for Willian. Not his day so far as Turner slides in with a challenge. Chelsea remain on the front foot and Catherine has to concede a corner. Terry meets the delivery and sees a glancing header brush the outside of the post.

16
Mata picked out wide again. He floats a cross towards the centre of the box. Ivanovic able to get up above his man, but can only divert a downward header well wide of the post. Cardiff unable to pose a threat of their own as Whittingham is bundled off the ball 35 yards out.

15
Bertrand into the feet of Eto'o. He is allowed to spin and head for the by-line. Caulker stays with him and slides in to concede a corner. Mata takes, and his delivery is glanced to safety.

14
Willian allows the ball to bounce off him yet again. Mutch charges down the left for Cardiff. He only has Odemwingie to aim at in the middle, but a low cross is easily cut out by Luiz. Chelsea can break again, but Whittingham cuts out a cross-field pass from Mata.

13
Lampard gives the ball away, but Medel can't spring Cardiff down the centre of the field. Mata dropping deep again to try and influence proceedings. Not much movement in front of him.

12
Mourinho looks less than impressed on the touchline. His mood isn't improved by another poor touch from Willian. Chelsea still being allowed to see plenty of the ball inside their own half.

11
Chelsea only have themselves to blame. Luiz must have been able to see Mutch, and that Cech wasn't going to get to the ball in time, but he somehow took the decision to let it run. Bad call and the hosts will now have to come from behind if they are to keep their fine home run going.

10
GOAL CARDIFF - MUTCH: A goal out of nothing for the visitors. Marshall hamers long down fielld. Ramires pokes the ball back towards his own goal, Luiz leaves it and Mutch races in to dink over the onrushing Cech.

9
Mata operating from deep, but has to go sideways. Patient build-up from the hosts. Bertrand and Hazard combine to find Eto'o out wide. His centre finds Mata, who swings at fresh air. The ball breaks for Ivanovic, who drills high over the top.

8
Ivanovic chips long towards Mata, who has ghosted into the box. Not the best delivery and Marshall is able to step off his line and pluck the ball out of the air. He drills down field, but Gunnarsson fails to keep the ball in play.

7
Lampard goes for goal, but fires into the wall. Brave from Turner as he stood tall to get a block in. He took the shot full in the face. He is rattled for a moment, but okay to continue.

6
Lampard into Hazard, who drifts inside off the left flank. Odemwingie heads for the box, but is all alone and ends up being outnumbered. Eto'o then twists past two red shirts and is dragged to the turf by Medel 30 yards from goal.

5
Taylor lofts the set-piece long, looking for Caulker. He wins the aerial duel, but Terry ends up nodding back to Cech. Hazard leads a counter. Caulker tracks back quickly to take the ball off Eto'o's toe and concede a throw.

4
Marshall forced to hack a hurried clearance into the stands. Macaky already out waving frantically on the sidelines. Odemwingie bundled over by Luiz in halfway. Free-kick to Cardiff.

3
Loose touch from Willian surrenders possession. MUtch guides Cardiff over halfway, but only briefly. They end up going long, but Catherine fires straight into the chest of Bertrand.

2
Ivanovic into the feet of Eto'o, who gives it back. Chelsea then go left to Hazard. Cardiff working hard to close down space in midfield. The visitors already have 10 men behind the ball, all inside their own half.

1
Early touch for Cech on his 300th Premier League appearance. Great achievement by the Chelsea keeper. Blues quickly into the passing stride, playing along their back four.

Cardiff get us up and running.

Players out onto the field and the pre-match formalities are under way. Mourinho and Mackay emerge from the tunnel laughing and joking - don't expect that to last long.

The teams are in the tunnel so we will have to leave the feedback there for now. There will be further opportunities to have your say at half-time and at the final whistle.

Dino Awab would like to see a few tweaks to the Chelsea side: "The Chelsea line up looks alright but could be better with Oscar in Willan's place."

Jakob is bucking the trend and backing an away win, saying: "I'm gonna go for a 4-0 win to Cardiff, just a prediction I betted for 1 pound."

Sam Beck sees a strong Chelsea side getting the job done, saying: "The starting line-up is perfect except I would've liked to of seen Torres start over Eto'o, I can see it ending up 2-0 to Chelsea! KTBFFH!"

Gill Power sees Mourinho's men easing over the line, saying: "3-0 to the blues! Mata, Lampard & Torres coming on and showing us how to play some quality football! Torres is amazing! Love him to bits . He never gives up!"

Asher Reynolds is another going for a home success, saying: "Today's going to be a good game with high expectations for Chelsea to win and hopefully Mourinho's boys can do it."

What do you make of the starting line-ups? Will we get a flood of goals this afternoon or a cagey contest? Get your thoughts in to Chris.Burton@bskyb.com or @SkySportsChrisB.

Alex Samuels sees the home side getting the job done. He says: "I think we are in for a great match. Quite tight in first half but in the second Chelsea will take it up a notch and score a few goals. Lampard first goal and possibly Torres to finish the job."

Today's referee is Anthony Taylor.

Cardiff team: Marshall, Taylor, Caulker, Turner, Whittingham, Medel, Odemwingie, Gunnarsson, Mutch, Cowie, Theophile-Catherine. Subs: Lewis, Hudson, Campbell, Kim, Gestede, Noone, Maynard.

Chelsea team: Cech; Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Bertrand, Ramires, Lampard, Willian, Mata, Hazard, Eto'o. Subs: Schwarzer, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Essien, Oscar, De Bruyne, Torres.

You can also bet in-play throughout the afternoon at Skybet.com. Chelsea start as heavy favourites at 2/9, with Cardiff 12/1 and the draw 5/1. You can get Samuel Eto'o at 4/1 to open the scoring, or maybe you fancy Peter Odemwingie at 12/1.

Will Chelsea enjoy home comforts once more or can Cardiff spring a surprise? Who will be the men to keep an eye on? Let me know your thoughts.

Much of the build-up to this game has focused on Malky Mackay and his future with the Bluebirds, but he insists it is business as usual in South Wales and maintains that everyone is pulling in the same direction.

Cardiff, meanwhile, have won only one of their last five in the league and sit just one point above the drop zone as a result.

The Blues are also a formidable prospect on home soil - winning 10 and drawing one of their last 11 top flight fixtures at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea sit just two points off the pace at the top of the Premier League table - suffering only one defeat in their opening seven fixtures.
