Good defending from Taylor this time as Zaha puts a nice ball into the box and he has to put it over his own bar.

GOAL - STEVEN TAYLOR - Two goals in two-minutes as Remy heads down for Taylor to scramble home from close-range.

GOAL - LOIC REMY - Tiote drives into the box, his shot deflects into the path of Remy and he dispatches it past Marshall.

Eikrem replaces Fabio.

Cardiff counter and Bellamy gets a great cross in from the right, but nobody in a red shirt anticipates it and it is out for a goal-kick.

Gosling feeds Sissoko down the right but good defending from John sees the ball back to Marshall.

Good knock down from Jones for Gunnarsson but again top defending from Coloccini to clear.

Cardiff looking to push on - but Newcastle have 11 men behind the ball.

Anita is off, replaced by Steven Taylor.

No offside against Remy as he breaks clear, but Caulker is back quickly to make an excellent block.

Corner comes in and Mutch meets it at the far post but it is wide.

And just as brilliant Coloccini clears off the line as Gunnarsson has the goal at his mercy.

Great save from Krul again as the ball dropped for Jones on the six-yard box but the Dutchman was equal to it.

Good effort from Mutch as he breaks into the Newcastle half but he sends his shot well wide.

Anita takes the corner again but this time Mutch manages to head away.

Newcastle win a corner through Debuchy. Anita takes but Caulker manages to clear. It comes for Williamson, whose shot from 25-yards is deflected wide.

Good break by Cardiff as Bellamy feeds Campbell, his cross into the box is just wide of Krul's far post.

Whittingham looking for run of Gunnarsson but the Icelander just can't keep it in.

Loud chants of 'We want Pardew out' at the moment whilst the play is stopped.

Remy goes down after clash with Mutch - looked to have hurt himself and he looks in some pain as he is holding his ankle.

Mutch tries to take on Haidara and he wins a corner. Bellamy gets a mixed reception of the home fans as he takes but he can't beat the first man and Newcastle clear.

Bellamy looking for Gunnarsson in the box, Campbell is almost there but good work from Coloccini to clear.

Whittingham takes the corner, Caulker rises and it comes down for Turner who stretches for it, but he can only send it wide of the post.

Cardiff pushing forward early on and Zaha wins a corner off Anita.

Cardiff get the second-half underway.

Haidara is also on for Dummett.

Changes made at half-time...Bellamy is on for Kim.

Half-time whistle goes and as we stand, Cardiff will be relegated if they don't turn this around - big 45-minutes coming up.

Another chance for Newcastle as Sissoko comes forward and tries one form 25-yards but it is well wide.

Good work from Campbell to win a free-kick off Dummett. Chance to put the ball into the box and Whittingham delivers but Mutch can only help it wide.

Great run from Tiote to as he gets away from Fabio but Caulker makes a good block to stop the cross.

Cardiff free-kick is launched into the box by Whittingham, Caulker rises and tries to knock it down for Campbell but it is too strong and out for a goal-kick.

Good run from Tiote as he drives to the edge of the box, the chance opens up for him and he goes for goal but it is well wide.

Good work from Krul to swiftly comes off his line to claim the ball ahead of Zaha.

Post again for Newcastle as Sissoko's cross is deflected onto the woodwork by Whittingham. Anita takes the corner but Campbell manages to clear.

Zaha breaks clear from Debuchy but he can't get his shot away as the Frenchman makes a crucial challenge.

Corner comes in from Whittingham but Mutch heads wide.

Great save from Krul as Zaha jinks his way into the box and gets his shot away but it is saved at the near post by the Dutchman.

Newcastle free-kick out wide. Tiote whips it in but nobody in a black and white shirt is there and Cardiff clear.

Half a chance for Cardiff as Williamson misses Mutch's cross and Kim tries to get across Debuchy but he can't direct it on goal.

So close for Newcastle. This time a lovely strike from Sissoko beats Marshall who is relieved to see it cannon back off the foot of the post.

Newcastle push forward again and win a corner through Dummett. Remy again takes short for Tiote, he goes for goal but chance is blocked. It comes back for Remy whose cross is too long and out for a goal-kick.

GOAL - SHOLA AMEOBI - Great ball into the box from Sissoko and Ameobi heads home at the far post.

Anita takes the corner, it comes for Debuchy who rattles the crossbar with his header but it was a great save from Marshall.

Good move from Newcastle as Debuchy gets the ball back from Sissoko - Remy played the dummy which allowed the full-back into the box and his shot is parried well by Marshall.

Newcastle free-kick about 30-yards out, again Dummett is over it but again he takes straight into the wall.

Remy takes it short to Gouffran, he gets it back and comes inside to the edge of the box before launching a shot at goal, but it is wide.

Sissoko makes break into the box, he turns and looks to cross but it is deflected behind for a corner.

Newcastle dominating possession, Cardiff seem happy to play on the counter-attack.

Gunnarsson brings down Tiote - Newcastle free-kick just 25-yards out. Dummett is over the ball. The full-back takes but straight into the wall.

Great chance for Campbell as he volleys wide as Krul can only punch Fabio's cross straight to the England international - but he misses the target.

Cardiff counter through Gunnarsson, he has Zaha on his right but he instead opts for Campbell on the left - but the pass is poor.

Dummett launches a counter-attack down the left but Zaha back-tracks well and sees it out for a goal-kick.

Cardiff push forward through Campbell on the right, he finds Zaha but Coloccini makes a good interception and brings the ball ball out of defence.

Remy takes and looks for Debuchy on the edge of the box, he strikes the volley but it is high and wide.

Good work from Sissoko down the right, it comes for Remy in the box and is deflected just wide by Fabio.

Newcastle get us underway kicking from left to right.

The teams make their way out, kick-off just five-minutes away.

And also on Twitter, Rhys Jenkins is hoping for a Cardiff win. "@RhysieJenks to all the Cardiff fans, we have to still believe. Let's give it a fight. I'm going a scrappy 1-0 to city!"

The relegation battle does strange things to fans, we know even have Sunderland fans hoping for a Newcastle win. Michael Bowers Tweeted: "‏@MichaelBowers as a Sunderland fan I really want Newcastle to win and increase our survival chances. But I think 2-1 Cardiff as they need it."

Shola Ameobi returns to the starting line-up for Newcastle replacing Dan Gosling. Five changes for Cardiff with Turner, Gunnarsson, John, Kim and Zaha all coming in.
