Live: Manchester City 5 CSKA Moscow 2

Manchester City finish the game as they started with a goal coming on the final whistle and with results going for them elsewhere they have reached the last 16 of the competition for the first time.

GOAL! City wrap it up in style after Milner takes the ball deep in the CSKA half and plays in a perfect cross for Negredo who finishes the game with a lovely header and gets his hat-trick.

Bayern Munich have won in their tie so Manchester City look set to progress to the last 16.

City go back to a number of one-touch passing and Kolarov finds space down the left again and attempts a shot at goal from just inside the box.

The home side are looking to keep the ball now and play out the remainder of the game in the CSKA half and Kolarov breaks down the left and wins a corner.

CSKA look to attack City with a good bit of build up play across the front but Elm hits a wayward cross and it goes out for a goal kick.

Schennikov looks to play in a dangerous cross to the front men but Doumbia is adjudged to be offside.

Again they spring in to life and a long ball to Negredo is well collected by the striker whose shot is deflected wide for a corner.

Manchester City look ready to stick with what they've got now and are starting to play out the tie with a good spell of possession played between defence and midfield.

Zuber hits a first-time shot after the ball is played into the box but Pantilimon gratefully scoops up the ball.

Vitinho takes the place of Honda for CSKA Moscow.

Toure sets off another City attack with a wonderful piece of skill and pass with Kolarov playing in a dangerous cross from the left with the ball bouncing off two CSKA defenders like a game of pinball.

Navas is coming on for Nasri who has been a real live wire for Manchester City. The fans stand and applaud the Frenchman

Negredo hits a wonderful dipping volley after he sets himself with a flick over his head just on the edge of the area. An excellent try from the striker.

Manchester City are again showing the frustrations of their season in a nutshell. Excellent in attack with some fantastic football, but lacking in concentration when they're required to defend.

Doumbia sends Pantilimon the wrong way and after a long time positioning the ball the CSKA striker hits the ball calmly into the net.

Clichy gives away a penalty just in the area after Doumbia does a coupe of step overs and darts into the box and is brought down by the Man City defender.

Nasri takes the ball and runs at the CSKA defence and looks to slip in Kolarov on the left but his ball is intercepted.

Zuber hits a speculative shot towards goal but Pantilimon doesn't have to move and collects the ball easily.

Silva is coming off to a wonderful applause from the home fans, Pellegrini looks concerned and who wouldn't be after a performance like that tonight. Kolarov takes Silva's place.

Elm strikes the free kick around the wall but the ball bounces harmlessly into the arms of Pantilimon.

CSKA are continuing on regardless and the lively Tosic looks to play in a through ball to Doumbia but is fouled by Demichelis.

Silva looks to be struggling with something at the moment and has gestured to the bench that he wants to come off.

City don't appear to be attacking the CSKA back line with as much vigour as they did in the first half.

CSKA look to be trying to close Man City down when the home side are in possession but this effort could be in vain and could mean more space opening up for City.

Toure goes in the book after going through the back of Wernbloom.

Toure is running the game from the heart of the City midfield and looks so comfortable on the ball with a range of long and short passes.

Tosic turns Demichelis brilliantly in the box to create himself some space but his chipped ball is met by Nastasic who starts an attack for Manchester City which results in the ball coming to Milner in the box who tries to pick out Aguero but fails to find him with a header.

Negredo finishes off a lovely move after Tour plays in Nasri with the Frenchman unselfishly squaring the ball to the striker.

Wernbloom brings down Silva on the left and gets a free-kick. The Spaniard then takes the set play, but he's unable to find Negredo.

Manchester CIty get straight back into the swing of things after the interval as Milner looks to play in Zabaleta down the right but he concedes a free-kick for a foul on Schennikov.

Milner comes on for Fernandinho for Manchester City and Elm replaces Milanov for CSKA Moscow have a couple of Price Boost odds on offer at half-time with Yaya Toure to score next at 9/1 and Samir Nasri to score City's fourth at 14/1. If you fancy another flutter they have David Silva to score next and Manchester City to win 5-1 at 33/1.

Manchester City look well on their way to the win but its the same old story in defence and a lapse in concentration means CSKA Moscow have an outside chance of pegging them back.

Doumbia has beaten the offside-trap against the run of play. Wernbloom plays in a lovely through-ball to Doumbia whose pace leaves Demichelis and Doumbia runs the ball wide of Pantilimon and puts the ball into an empty net.

City again burst into life after a ball is played out wide by Silva to Zabaleta who's cross is played into the back post but neither Aguero or Negredo is able to turn the ball into the net.

Zuber is coming on for the injured Musa. It looks as though Nastasic's earlier challenge has forced off the forward.

City look so composed on the ball and are snapping into life whenever they get into the final third.

Negredo finds himself clearing up a threat down the left flank and has the composure and skill to pass his way out of a corner. The ball then breaks up field with a ball being played in to Aguero who tries and outlandish overhead kick but fails to connect.

City are picking CSKA apart for fun. Silva again the culprit and he dances his way around the penalty area before darting into the box and forcing a corner.

Musa breaks down the left but Nastasic puts in a well-timed tackle and clears the ball while the forward is left on the ground.

Silva and Aguero are taking turns to torment Nababkin the CSKA right back. A reverse pass plays in Silva but his shot is saved by Akinfeev.

Aguero is starting to be unplayable for the CSKA defence and a number of one-touch passes between him and Silva carves open the away side.

Aguero steals the ball from Milanov deep inside CSKA territory and plays a one-two with Negredo before playing in a teasing ball for his strike partner to tap in the simplest of goals at the back post.

Silva and Clichy create some good space for Toure who turns and hits a curling shot just wide of the CSKA goal with Akinfeev sprawling to make sure.

Bot City full-backs are maintaining good attacking positions and providing some great width for the home side.

Silva takes the ball in a pocket of space between midfield and defence and after a well worked period of play Negredo hits a volley just wide of the mark.

Tosic's free kick clips the wall and the ball loops up high into the air with Pantilimon looking to claim the ball but he spills and is rescued by Demichelis who makes the clearance.

CSKA look to hit back again and Doumbia is brought down right on the edge of the area by Nastasic.

Nasri plays in a lovely sharp pass into Aguero's feet who turns his marker inside out with a wonderful turn before slotting his shot past Akinfeev.

Fernandinho looks to play in Zabaleta who has taken up an advanced position in the CSKA half, but the ball is too long and goes out for a throw-in.

Nasri dances around the penalty area with none of the CSKA defenders able to take the ball from him, he then plays the ball to Silva who shoots wide into the side netting.

CSKA have responded quite well after going down to a goal so early and are starting to create space in the City half. The home fans, who have been strangely quiet, are trying to get their side back into the game.

Musa plays in Honda on the right and his attempted cross is put out for a corner by Nastasic. The resulting corner is easily cleared by the City defence,

Toure is stood over the resulting free-kick and despite his excellent record from dead-balls this season, he hits the ball well over the bar.

Tosic gets a yellow card after Aguero turns him and he decides to bring the Argentine down 25-yards from goal.

Doumbia pounces on a ball after Nastasic fails to clear but he puts his shot over the bar.

Ignashevich looks to take a free-kick after Toure fouled Wernbloom, but it is deflected for a corner.

City are enjoying a sustained period of possession with CSKA spectating at the moment. Nasri gets a dinked ball from Toure but is unable to control it and the ball goes out for a corner

City have settled really well and Silva, Toure and Aguero are already into their passing rhythm.

Well that early goal will certainly calm any nerves and it could become a question of how many?

Aguero converts with ease - the keeper dives the right way but he places the ball right into the top corner.

City turns neatly into the box after good work down the left. Tosic dives in and brings the Spaniard.

Toure and Silva already starting to find their feet in the game with a couple of one-twos. CSKA look to be sitting back and allow City to come at them early on.

Manchester City get us underway tonight with the noise starting to pick up from the home supporters.

Last email before kick-off from Gareth Davies: "I get the feeling this will be a bad tempered match, CSKA feel victimized by UEFA and City aren't happy at their stance. I see a red card or two coming tonight, but a good win for City."

The Etihad is in an expectant mood as Man City look to reach the last 16 at the third time of asking.

The teams are in the tunnel about to make their way on to the pitch with City being led by Yaya Toure.

So Manchester City could reach the last 16 for the first time tonight. How highly would this rank along recent successes for Blues fans?

Ian Ashman from Mallorca says: "I can foresee another glut of goals for the blues.I'm going for a 5-1 win, with goals coming from Kun, The Beast, Nasri & a few from Dzeko. Come on City!"

Adam Gillis says: "Chris has got it wrong. First by saying it will be a tough game for Man City and finishing off with a 4-1 home win prediction!"

If you fancy a flutter ahead of tonight's fixture then head to where there are a number of price boosts to take advantage of. David Silva is now 8/1 from 13/2 to score the opening goal, with Yaya Toure at 15/2 to strike first. In terms of the basic match prices, Manchester City are 2/11, CSKA Moscow are 14/1 with the draw available at 13/2.

Chris Green from Huddersfield writes: "Manchester City's home record is incredible but I don't think this will be an easy match for them. When these teams met a couple of weeks ago, CSKA Moscow showed that they have the players to trouble City's defence, so if I was a City fan, I wouldn't count my chickens. Prediction: City 4-1 CSKA Moscow."
