Port Vale boss Micky Adams is expected to freshen things up ahead of the FA Cup first-round clash with minnows Shortwood.

Vale lost 5-2 to Swindon in their last outing and Adams is likely to react by shuffling his pack for the trip to the lowest-ranked club left in the competition.

Left-back Daniel Jones is in contention to return to the starting XI, while striker Lee Hughes, who came off the bench to score against Swindon, may start.

Adams, who has stressed the importance of beating the Calor League Southern Division One South and West side, looks set to name a strong side.
