FT: Leicester 2 Sheffield Wednesday 1

A great game comes to a close, and Wednesday put up a brilliant challenge but Leicester's class shines through in the end with two excellent goals. The Premier League is almost on the horizon...

Two massive chances for Wednesday as first Lee then Nuhiu come close, but Leicester defend excellently.

Six added minutes here after Antonio's stoppage.

Another goalscorer comes off for Leicester, with Lloyd Dyer replacing Knockaert.

Ambitious effort from Maguire dribbles wide as Wednesday look for an equaliser.

Play is temporarily stopped as Antonio goes to ground after a tussle with Wasilewski. Appeared to be an elbow from Wasilewski.

Goalscorer Mahrez comes off for the midweek hero Hammond to a loud applause.

So nearly a stunning equaliser. Maguire is picked out from the corner and he meets it with a powerful effort, but it's just wide.

Nuhiu replaces Lavery in Wednesday's final change.

Nugent latches onto Taylor-Fletcher's lofted ball, but he can't quite squeeze the ball in.

GOAL! Stunner! Knockaert takes the ensuing free-kick and whips it over the wall into the top corner. Beautiful effort.

Mahrez bursts through and bears down on goal before Lee bodychecks the winger and takes the booking.

Chris Wood comes off for Gary Taylor-Fletcher.

Leicester race forward on the counter, with Nugent teeing up Knockaert before the Frenchman's effort zips well wide.

Another Wednesday sub as Coke comes on for the injured Loovens. Another blow for the visitors.

Wednesday have a huge chance to take the lead but first Best then Palmer take too long to get a shot away and Leicester recover to clear.

Schlupp goes into the book after poleaxing Lavery.

Onyewu makes way for Llera at half-time due to a rib injury.

Great game so far at the King Power Stadium. Mahrez put them ahead as the home side dominated early on and looked to put the game beyond doubt in the opening stages, but Wednesday gradually grew in confidence and the impressive Antonio equalised. Exciting second half in store.

Mahrez races through after Leicester clear their lines from the corner, but Palmer cynically steps in his path and is rightfully booked.

GOAL! He's been brilliant so far and this is just what he deserves! Wednesday equalise as Antonio picks up Mattock's crossfield ball before cutting inside before feigning a shot, then firing in a low effort that Schmeichel can't quite keep out. 1-1!

Knockaert again the creator with a lovely pass into Wood, who in turn plays in Nugent but the England cap's effort curls just wide.

Massive chance for Leicester. Knockaert's delightful delivery finds it's way to the back post but Lee gets a touch just before Mahrez and concedes the corner.

Knockaert curls an effort in on goal after Drinkwater's pass but it's just over.

Another effort from the lively Antonio is saved by Schmeichel.

Antonio is proving a problem for Leicester to handle, as he nearly forces his way through the area before being stopped.

Decent chance for Wednesday. Antonio bursts through unchallenged before unleashing a shot on goal, but Schmeichel is equal to it and concedes the corner.

Palmer advances with the ball as Antonio and Best race forward, but the midfielder delays the pass a little too much and Schmeichel is out quickly.

Nugent is playing jack of all trades here! His cross from the left-hand side picks out Knockaert, but the Frenchman can't quite lay-off an unmarked Wood in the middle.

Nugent races through on goal after being played in by Wood but he's too far wide and his curling effort is blocked by Onyewu.

GOAL! It didn't take them long, but it's a great goal. The ball finds Wood in the centre, and the New Zealander picks out Mahrez who cuts inside before applying a brilliant finish. 1-0!

Wednesday have settled after a nervous start, and are enjoying a spell of possession now.

Huge chance as Leicester apply plenty of early pressure. Nugent turns provider with a bursting run down the wing before cutting back to Knockaert, who can't quite place his shot on target from eight yards out.

Knockaert sparks a bit of panic in the Wednesday area but Lee hooks clear at the second time of asking.

Nugent is played into space but Kirkland is again quick to clean up.

An early hoof upfield is poorly defended by Onyewu, but Kirkland is on hand to clear.

Here we go then, can Wednesday shock Leicester tonight?

Of course, the Foxes could secure their return to the Premier League as soon as tomorrow. A win here coupled with a loss for QPR and Derby failing to win is all it would take. Wednesday are unlikely to roll over for their hosts however.

Chris Green is first in via e-mail: "Leicester to win 4-1, with De Laet, Knockaert and Nugent (2) scoring the goals."

Five changes for Leicester then as Wasilewski, Schlupp, James, Drinkwater and Mahrez return to the starting line-up in place of Moore, Konchesky, Hammond, King and Dyer. Not a bad squad, is it?!

Leicester XI: Schmeichel; De Laet, Morgan, Wasilewski, Schlupp; Knockaert, James, Drinkwater, Mahrez; Nugent, Wood.

Leicester subs: Hammond, King, Dyer, Moore, Taylor-Fletcher, Logan, Phillips.

Just the two changes in the Wednesday starting line-up from the heavy defeat to Watford, with Lavery and Antonio replacing Helan and Afobe, who drop to the bench.

Sheffield Wednesday XI: Kirkland; Buxton, Loovens, Onyewu, Mattock; Lee, Palmer, Lavery, Antonio; Maguire, Best.

Sheffield Wednesday subs: Johnson, Coke, Helan, Martinez, Afobe, Llera, Nuhiu.

We'll have team news coming up very shortly, but let's have some thoughts and predictions in the meantime. Who will win tonight's match? Who be the star man for either side? Let me know via Twitter at MattStead91, or by e-mail at Matthew.Stead@bskyb.com. I'll be sure to publish your views.

The Foxes are unbeaten in 21 league games after avoiding late defeat against Wigan in midweek, while their visitors are battling to be Yorkshire's top club this season, sitting in 14th with 48 points, just a point and a place higher than Leeds.

While Sheffield Wednesday's form has recently pushed them clear of a crowded Championship relegation scrap, Leicester are continuing their relentless push for promotion to the Premier League.
