Tendayi Darikwa and Sam Hird fired last season's League Two champions into a 2-0 half-time lead on Wednesday night before a young Villa side pulled a goal back through substitute Jack Grealish early in the second half.

However, Sam Morsy added a late third goal for the Spireites - the midfielder's fourth of pre-season - to inflict a first defeat of the summer on Villa.

The Barclays Premier League side had previously beaten Mansfield 3-1, FC Dallas 2-0 and Houston Dynamo 1-0 during their summer schedule.
