The 20-year-old, who will go straight into the Pools squad for Saturday's game with Fleetwood this weekend, quickly emerged as one of Colin Cooper's key targets when he was appointed as boss in the summer.

He signed a long-term professional contract at The Riverside in the summer of 2010 and has since gained league experience with a loan spell at Yeovil last season.
