The Teessiders currently sit in 16th place in the Sky Bet Championship table after winning just one of their first seven games of the campaign, although the manager believes they have been better value than that.

Mowbray told the club's official website: "Football is a results business, I understand that, yet I feel we have played some really good football so far this season.

"But we have to win games, we know that. We have played miles better than in the first games last year, but we have only got half the points.

"I work every day with the players and if I thought we were struggling and confidence was low, I would be concerned, but I genuinely feel the players believe they have a good chance of being around the top six this year.

"We have to get back to basics and training might be pretty boring for a few weeks."

FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
