Jackett: Time to move on

Wood's 11 goals in 19 games during a loan spell from West Bromwich Albion propelled the Lions up the Championship table after a shocking start to the season.

However, the young New Zealander is due to join promotion rivals Leicester when the January transfer window opens and his influence was highlighted by several missed chances against the league leaders.

But Jackett played down the significance of his absence and said the Millwall board had done everything in their power to keep Wood at The Den.

"It was a good performance and the positive was the amount of chances we created," said Jackett. "You need to finish those off. But we didn't go down easy at all.

"We have to get over Chris leaving. The people above me tried very hard to

keep him. We are disappointed, but they could not do anymore in our remit.

"He had an opportunity to go to a club geared for the Premier League. Money

was one of those things, but it wasn't solely that.

"I thanked him for his efforts and I wish him well."
