The Lions travel to Derby needing a point to be certain of avoiding relegation following the goalless draw with Crystal Palace at The Den, but Jackett wants to sign off with a win at Pride Park.

"We don't want to be worrying about what's happening up and down the country," said Jackett, whose cause is aided by fellow strugglers Huddersfield and Barnsley clashing at the weekend.

"It's in our hands and we want to win. We've had lots of big games this season, it's a terrific league and that's why we want to stay in it."

One player who is unlikely to be involved against the Rams is forward Dany N'Guessan, who came on as a second-half substitute against Palace and was so poor he was hauled off 12 minutes later.

"It was a reflection of his performance," added Jackett. "The substitution opened us up and I needed to address it to get us over the line.

"You have to play with direction and passion at Millwall and I didn't think that was there."

resumably, you wanted to keep the version of Downing that was never seen at Anfield. The one that another manager has managed to re-create. The one you passed over.

he uber commercialisation of the 90s has led to the point where this overly familar, try hard, jolly hockey sticks type fronts up a major football match on a weekly basis. Unlike the great presenters of yesteryear, I doubt he would even recognise the scent of Brut.
