Stuart McCall: Big win had been coming

Michael Higdon and Jamie Murphy gave the Steelmen a two-goal lead and despite the home side pulling one back through Richie Foran two minutes after the interval, further goals from Adam Cummins, Henrik Ojamaa and substitute Omar Daley put the result beyond doubt.

"It's easy after the event to say that it had been coming. However, I've been pleased with the way the team has been performing generally," said McCall.

"The only thing missing is that we've not scored when we're on top in these matches. We've created chances, got a good threat middle to front.

"We've got to be solid at the back. I think a lot of teams in this division have good forward players and it's about how you defend.

"Inverness are top scorers and to limit them to one goal today was very good and obviously to score five was tremendous."

But McCall admitted his side must improve their home form if they are to maintain their push for a European place next season.

"That's us won four away from home - we've only one once at home," he added.

"We're at home to Hearts next week and we've not got to have that feeling that we can't win at home because we've been playing well. We just need to take our chances and today it came off."
