'Well were beaten by Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup recently - prompting the manager to fight fire with fire and play three forwards.

The result was a convincing win courtesy of Jamie Murphy's double which was sandwiched by goals from Tom Hateley and Michael Higdon.

McCall said: "I decided to match them and play three forwards up against their three centre-backs and I think with Murphy's two goals, one for Higgy and Henrik Ojamaa's performance it worked.

"It can be a dangerous game, but you have to have faith in your defenders and that your frontmen can do more damage to them than they can to you.

"If there were any scouts here today they probably went away with five or six names on a piece of paper."

f he can find the right player? Surely the manager of one of Europe's top clubs has a well-researched short-list and has a good idea of who he wants to bring on-board? If I can find the right player sounds like someone going out on Saturday night on the pull, and the nearer you get to midnight the lower your standards drop.
