The 30-year-old's current contract expires in the summer but he insists he is in no rush to leave Fir Park.

McFadden continued his recent good form with a goal against Ross County on Saturday, keeping Motherwell in the hunt for second place in the Premiership.

The striker told the Daily Record: "I'm settled here, I'm happy here and I wouldn't rule out staying. When the chance comes to speak to the manager and the chief executive I'll do that.

"The biggest thing for me is enjoyment. I'm enjoying my football and we will see where it takes me."

McFadden's recent form has again prompted calls for a Scotland recall and the former Everton man says he would jump at the chance.

"It's a good time for the national team and I would be delighted if I could be part of it but we'll see what happens," he said.

"I spoke to Gordon at the end of last season and I've not spoken to him since. However, my performances have got better and I'm still young enough so you never know."
