Tim Krul: Feels Newcastle will cope without Fabricio Coloccini

Coloccini will miss Newcastle's upcoming Premier League games against West Ham United, Swansea City and Southampton after being sent off for his challenge on Luis Suarez.

Magpies keeper Krul concedes that further changes to the defence are not ideal after an unsettled start to the season due to injuries.

However, the Netherlands international is confident that Newcastle will be able to cope without Coloccini's influence and still pick up wins.

"There are going to be more changes in the backline now and that's always something you could really do without," said Krul.

"Fabricio is one of our star players, so it is a shame we will be without him.

"It's happened, though, and we have to handle it, just like we've handled it all year. We'll be all right.

"The spirit is definitely back, a real determination within the squad that was there last season as well.

"The next four or five games are going to be massive for us and ones we feel we can definitely get three points from."
