Toon boss Alan Pardew went into the game at the Cardiff City Stadium under pressure after successive league defeats by Hull City and Everton.

However, a brace from Loic Remy earned the Magpies a much-needed 2-1 victory and lifted the club into mid-table going into the international break.

A tough set of fixtures lies in wait for Pardew's men when the Premier League returns, with games against Liverpool, Sunderland, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham to come in the next few weeks.

Krul though says the Cardiff win has raised spirits amongst the squad after their early season wobbles and is confident they can secure some more positive results.

"It's going to be a fantastic month," he told The Journal. "We've got a very hard run of games, but now we look forward to those games and go into them with the confidence off the back of a very good away win.

"We have to work for each other every game and we showed that against Cardiff. You need the positivity around the place. We've had a bit of a hard time of late and rightly so, but we can look on the positive side again and take that into the rest of the season.

"It is frustrating that we now split up and go our separate ways for international week, we would have liked the next game to come quickly.

"We have ten points after seven games. We've already had a few wake-up calls and we know we can't take anything for granted in this league. Every team is a hard game, there's no easy games out there anymore, but we have to keep going and build on what we did second half against Everton and in the Cardiff game."

Krul has also been impressed with loan signing Remy, who has grabbed five goals in as many games since arriving from QPR over the summer.

"Loic's on fire," he added. "I think he would like the next game to come now the way he is playing, and so would we after a very good win.

"He's a fantastic player, we saw that when he was at QPR last year and now he's doing the same thing here, which is score goals. From the word go he's been great for us."

I

expect Pulis to have a nice Christmas dinner with his family- probably all sitting around the table wearing Christmas themed baseball caps, before he gets the call. Realistically he could end up at any number of clubs, it'll be interesting to see which club folds first.

For Foxes' Sake, Call The Pulis...

A

s a Liverpool fan, I personally hate Palace. My pick would probably be Arsenal, which is funny because it seems the vast majority of their own fans don't even like them right now.
